  1. I watched the first game of the new rugby season. Cracking game it was too. Morning all. There was a definite nip in the air when I went round for the paper earlier.
  2. As some have already commented, ERs can somehow trigger memories. All this talk of rocks, spectrometry and geology hammers reminded me that this afternoon we visited White Scar caves under Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales. A very interesting tour was had and if you have never seen a cave system or stalac-wotsits before it is well well worth a visit. Of course, just a few miles up the road is Ribblehead Viaduct so an enjoyable late afternoon walk under the viaduct and up to Blea Moor followed.
  3. If you want an up-to-date view you can check out their webcams. https://www.oban.org.uk/lighthouse-webcam/ There are still places unchanged e.g. the distillery, there are still nice places in Oban e.g. the distillery and there are still places I would visit eg. the distillery.
  4. I used to say it was for my Chemistry Set. They don't seem to make Chemistry Sets anymore.
  5. Someone gave us a fondue set for Xmas 12 years ago. I've always wondered what to do with it. Thanks for that.
  6. I don't mind if you reduce the photos to half size if that's any help.
  7. They are lurking in the depths of my hard drives. I also need to take some of more recent progress. I do intend to start a new layout topic soon. As a taster, something I have been working on as a break from track laying. A (far from finished) West Highland station building and Crianlarich signal box. A sort of build your own kit then build your building.
  8. Did you ever manage to find a use for the rest of the yellow paint?
  9. Morning all. I have had plenty of online customer surveys but I don't think I've started one yet let alone completed it. The email just gets binned. In other news I have just over a one meter section of track to lay to finish the track work. This section completes the circuit of the loft. I have already selected the loco that will be given the honour of making the first complete run. I can't afford a golden spike.
  10. Best of luck with your business enterprise iD. I hope everything goes to plan.
  11. Congratulations, Elise and Dom.
  12. Caligula. That's it. Just don't ask.
  13. Evening all. Today I had the opportunity to say to someone "Tell me, were you born a cockwomble, have you been practising or were you suddenly enlightened". You should have heard the woosh as it went over their head.
  14. I actually thought "Who in their right mind would do that to a poor dog".
  15. How about asking China to lend you a Panda for a couple of weeks.
  16. Morning all. Once more unto the loft, dear friends, once more : : : Cry God for Hornby, Bachmann, and Track Shack.
  17. There's never an eclipse around when you need one.
  18. If that is true then it is a great shame. As Andy said, two of the nicest people.
  19. This could be played like that card game where you are allowed to play a station with the same letter, the next letter up or the next letter down to the one previously played. The first person to get rid of all of their station photos wins.
  20. Morning all. Eh? Another day with the National Trust which meant perforce a Full English to sustain me throughout the day. Surprisingly there were very few youngsters about today and the adults were very interested and appreciative. Next weekend is a bank holiday which may be a completely different story. Belated sympathies to those who have recently experienced, or are about to experience, grief and sadness.
  21. I bet you didn't take the bit with the gap though.
  22. If you hold up a card with his name on it will make it easier for him to find his lift.
  23. Good morning all. Many happy returns, Brian W.
  24. Before After Next: A wagon not available RTR.
