  1. Are you sure it’s your Birthday, Baz? It doesn’t appear in The Times’s birthdays today column.
  2. Many happy returns, Baz
  3. I know which I would prefer on a crowded M25
  4. Congratulations. I shall leave you to work out whether I am referring to the anniversary or the fact that you remembered it.
  5. Morning all. We have just heard that the relative (and very good friend) we spent some time with only the other week passed away this morning. We are so glad we made the journey up to see him. Look after yourselves and your loved ones.
  6. Nice to see a post from Simon (G) It’s a while since we had a report from La’al Ratty.
  7. Once Woakes had holed out I decided to take the dog for a walk. Apparently I had gone to the loo when Hurst scored the fourth too.
  8. Just as well you got your piles sorted then.
  9. Sorry. The emoti-thingy came out wrong it should have been a jester/jokey one. I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I’m just amazed at how many suppositions and guesses are being made. And I do appreciate the efforts of the moderating team in keeping RMweb running* *You can put my cheque in the post later.
  10. That’s right. Blame Brexit. I don’t think I’ve ever, even on RMweb, seen a thread with more Perhaps, Possibly, I guess, May be, It strikes, me, I suspect, He may have, etc etc than this one. Andy, can you build in a notify option that only kicks in when new and substantive information is posted.
  11. Did you find this topic The builder suggests that someone had sent him plans so might be worth messaging them.
  12. Thoughts are with you Rick and more so with your good lady. Bill, I know you will have your preferred ears but we are all here in support if needed. Goodnight all.
  13. England have just reached the final of the Cricket World Cup and there is an Ashes series yet to come. The Tour de France is only in its first week, Wimbledon hasn’t finished and the Open golf is still a week away. Meanwhile, qualifying has started for the Champions and Europa Leagues and a Scottish Cup game is live on TV tonight. The EFL starts in three weeks. Someone, somewhere has lost the plot. Perhaps it’s me?
  14. My wife was complaining about how my life revolved around social media and how it affected our communication as a family ........ so I blocked her.
  15. On our recent visit to Cornwall I kept my eye out for the fields of cream teas as we passed through Devon but they didn't seem to be growing any at all. All the Cornish Pasty mines seemed to have closed down too, although we saw many of the derelict remains. Very clammy/muggy here. I'm sure you all have your own dialect words to describe what I mean.
  16. Hartlepool have certain standards they expect their supporters to meet. Or perhaps it's the answer to Sir Alex's squeaky bum.
  17. How come horse racing tipsters still need to work for a living?
  18. That’s too close to home to be funny. Mind you, I got my own back one day. I took her round every pub in town trying a half in each then went back to the first one we tried and had a pint.
  19. Romove the silencer and fit a double barrelled tailpipe like what the boy racers do.
  20. He changed VARter into whine.
  21. Rainbow to match the hat, tie and boots. ....... and I’ve just had the most awful mental picture.
  22. Mary had a little lamb. She was strange like that.
  23. Well done. Can’t see the blood spots at all
  24. Have a great day, Chris.
  25. Evening all We have returned from or trip North of the Border. If you remember we were spending some time with a close, terminally ill relative. I’m sure many of you will have experienced this but we found it very hard. I have suffered sudden bereavements with the associated shock and grief. We have sat as parents have faded and passed away but toward the end it was as if they were just sleeping. However today I said goodbye to someone, who, apart from the awful colour and morphine pump, were their normal bubbly selves, but giving us personal mementos by which to remember them. To say goodbye and leave, knowing that you won’t ever see them again was the saddest thing. Sorry to post this here but I just can’t get it out of my mind at the moment. I may just raise a glass or two of uisge-beatha.
