  1. Thanks Cav, Looking forwards to seeing them, having a dummy with save you a few quid too. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Marcus, Weathering is something I try a get right, I have banged on about it before but I see too many models that are overdone. Class 33's next then 37's. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Jim, I have a red stripe one to do. I am having second though, as I was going to just renumber a Skinhead Hornby model but now I am thinking of painting that blue and doing it 31444 I have another one that's in primer and that was going to be a 31/4 but I am thinking that would be better in red stripe. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks Simon, Noticed you have got yourself a nice banger blue beast. looks good. Cheers Peter.
  5. Class 31's started to become more common in North Wales during the mid 80s as they started to replace the class 25's on their workings. Llanbourne's class 31's have 3 booked workings. The 1K89 Holyhead to Crewe Parcel / Postal and 1D02 return is booked for a class 31/4 There is also a return empty train but I haven't written it my timetable yet. The 6D03 is a ballast from Carnforth to Peanmenwar and the 6P15 return. Another working is the Flask from Sellafield which leaves a flask at Llanbourne before carrying on to Valley. 31319 F TE, 31323 TE, 31403 MR. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Phill, From what I remember the cars at Brockenhurst were driven on by the staff. Cars didn't all turn up at the same time so there were only a few staff needed. A friend of mine John Dedman has some pics on flickr which might be of use. At Brockenhurst the train would arrive on the Down then pull forwards and reverse back into the siding and the cars would be driven off. I think the stock was split from the train and went ECS somewhere as I remember with the return service the loco would arrive in the up loop with the MK1s then run of to the car flats then pull them out and push back onto the MK1s this would mean on arriving At Stirling the train would do a similar move and reverse into a siding with unloading ramp. Brockenhurst didn't actually have a ramp it was more of a bay platform with small metal ramp which went across to the wagons. Hope this is of some use. Cheers Peter.
  7. Always nice to see an update Phill, The Motorail wagons look good. I remember going over to Brockenhurst as a kid to watch a Motorail train get loaded. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks David, Class 31's next up on the fleet list. Just need to find time to do post up the pics. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Jim, I do like the old class 25s. I still have one more to do. I am actually selling a few too. I had a spare body and realised I have enough other bits to make up a complete loco. Cheers Peter.
  10. 25059 heads down the branch. 25244 laeves on a ballast. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Martyn, Glad you like the layout, I have been looking at getting an airbrush I have the compressor water trap and air line it's just a case of sorting it all out and having a go. Feel free to post up your pics it's always good for some inspiration. I actually have a Bachmann class 47/7 in Scotrail livery to do at some point. I also have a class 37/6 that gets some use piloting a class 33 on a Cardiff train. I normally run RBR's but thought the RMB would make a nice change it's a great model. I am looking at getting a MK3 SO to put in the Euston train as they seem to have turned up now and then. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Merf, Thanks for the info, it's funny I don't know where I got the idea that the Maentwrog Rd traffic was for the MOD. I might have to have a look at my timetable as I normally have the VAA arrive in the Speedlink service and go back via an MOD service which I run to Valley for the RAF base. I know this didn't really happen but I thought this service could replace the Amlwch chemical train which I don't have due to lack of suitable wagons. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks Mark, I used to see class 33's nearly everyday back in the late 80's so have a bit of a soft spot for them. They were great little loco's and well like by the drivers. I have a 33008 in green to do at some point I always thought it looked good in the green though they did change it a few times. It is good some are preserved I had 33111 for haulage when I was over a few years back. Cheers Peter.
  14. Thanks Keith, Yes remember Mustard hope all the guys are going ok and you had a god time. Cheers Peter.
  15. You would be more than Welcome to drop in Cav. We are only an hour out of Melbourne and always have tea on the go and beer in the fridge. Cheers Peter.
  16. Not much chance of the layout leaving the garage at the moment, it's too big now to do any shows. If we ever have to move it could be taken down but would need quite a bit of work to set it back up again. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Cav, Since arriving in Oz the layout has been permanent but it did do a show before I left in the mid 90s though it did look a bit different back then. Cheers Peter,
  18. The class 25's were synonymous with the North Wales Coast. By 1986 the writing was on the wall for the class and March 1987 saw the end for the class 25's. Some of their last working were along the coast normally replacing failed loco's. Llanbourne's class 25's only have one Booked working. The 7D30 Crewe to Penmaenmawr and the 7K11 return loaded train back to Crewe. This turn can also bring the loco back out on an departmental working which runs as required. Another class 25 is often seen in the Llanbourne area working trips as required. Most days a class 25 can be seen working down the Blaenau Ffestiniog branch on either the flask train which is a portion off the train that works to Valley. Or the MOD trip that works down the Blaenau branch. Class 25s also turn up vice other motive power one regular turn is the daily Speedlink, and also ECS workings if there is a shortage of class 08. 25059 CD 25244 CD 25109 CD 25904 CD, Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks Alan, Class 25's next. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Craig, Thanks for dropping by, did you notice I finally got round to finishing off the RMB I bought off you. The class 58 is on the do list for this year. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Andy, Still a bit more detail to add but it's getting there. I have been running trains recently so not a lot of work has been done I should make some time and work on the layout again. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Rick, Always up for a meeting, how did you go early in the week with the hot weather it would have been a good test. Also after some real train info so will send you a PM. Cheers Peter.
  23. Good luck with the show Ian. Hope it all works well for you. All the best Peter.
