  1. Kind words indeed Paragon. Thank you, I am glad you like Llanbourne I have tried to get things to look right and although Llanbounre has it's faults I am quite happy with it. I wish I had started on the railway earlier than I did, working up the yard at Eastleigh was probably the best job I have had, the depot ground frame was good too but shunting EMUs and MK2s at 3 in the morning wasn't my idea of fun. Playing with wagons up the yard was way more fun. Anyway another pic. 45141 was one of the last Peaks I saw in service and was a bit of a favourite so had to be modelled. Cheers Peter.
  2. Great to see a few pic of the layout Mark. That class 37 is a beast. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Phill, Always good to see an up date. Love those car flats and new wagon. Cheers Peter.
  4. Ha ha thats ok then. Cheers Peter.
  5. Looking Good Jamie, Howes of Oxford used to sell the Craftsman bits. Cheers Peter.
  6. Ha ha no don't think I have ever been there.
  7. All this talk of class 50's he is my Favourite. 50042 Triumph. Cheers Peter.
  8. We thought may be she had but really not sure it wasn't the 50 basher we thought. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hey John I was a Shunter once what are you trying to say. lol Cheers Peter.
  10. Hi marc Hi Marcus, There is a guy in that pub scene that looks like me. I told a mate I was in the movie and he believed me. Eastleigh Station had it's regulars Some would ask you what was on the Holding sidings if other loco's were blocking the view of the number. Or if there were any specials about. I was happy to help if I had any gen. Cheers Peter.
  11. Oh yes there were some weird ones out there. Exeter was good back in the day. Cheers Peter.
  12. Love this one really nice model the 7f. S&D power at it's best. Cheers Peter.
  13. Now there is a memory the Wessex Rovers, what value for money they were. I think I would go to Westbury for the depot then see what was on the Weymouth service some good loco's could turn up on those trains. Another option could be go to Bristol TM and see if there was a Peak on the Wesston Super mare trains. I wasn't the biggest class 50 back then but did do a few railtours with a couple of mates when the DCWA machines were on their way out. Extension is coming on well. Cheers Peter.
  14. I sent my mate in the UK a message about this. He was a 50 basher back in the day he couldn't remember her name but said she used to put Smarties on the buffers apparently the loco's ate them. Cheers Peter.
  15. No worries Marcus, Most of my recent stuff hasn't been weathered with an air brush as I don't have one at the moment. You can get quite good results with a brush. either way I am sure with a bit of practice you will do a good job, I started on spare bodies and wagons. It could be a coal bunker for the signalbox. I am sure back in the day it would have been a coal fire. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Stu, Layout and stock looking good. I would add a bit more grime to the underframes though. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Marcus, The layouts really coming together, it's looking good. Those class 37s need some weathering now. Could the concrete thing be a sand box. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Marcus, I remember the Peak Army and boy could they drink. I could handle a few but these boys didn't mess about. I did a few Peak Railtours over the years and you didn't want to be in the front coach if you are planning on a quite day. A mate of mine got to know some of the Peak Army quite well and I was introduced to a few myself. Most were pretty good blokes we even met a few on our turf a few times while we were out on class 33s they appreciated the gen we gave them on a few good pubs in Salisbury. Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks Neil, Some of mine are the Ratio ones some are built from scratch. They don't work but still look the part. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Jim, I had most of my Peak haulage in 86-7 but had a few down Dawlish way back in the day on Summer relief's. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Pete, If you need any info on Peaks let me know. But the 44s went early so 45,46 would be your best bet. Not sure how common they were in the East London area though. My current fleet are all the older Bachmann and Mainline body on Bachmann chassis. The newer Bachmann model have a better body shape unfortunately the sealed beam lights that most of mine have are the hard one to get in the newer body. Cheers Peter.
  22. No worries Marcus, I think if there was ever a loco class that I would be tempted to lick it would be a class 45. A mate of mine back in the day was a class 50 Basher and he told me there was a Female Basher who would kiss her favourite loco when ever she had it for haulage on it. Cheers Peter.
  23. Thanks Cav, I had to do 45029. It was one of the last in service and I had it for haulage a few times. I also have a few pics of the loco to help with weathering. Cheers Peter.
  24. I always thought Peaks were a good loco though plenty of Bashers didn't like them. Cheers Peter.
