  1. Or not bother, wait for the Oxford one and get on with other projects. Thanks cheers Peter.
  2. Nice work on the base boards you will be laying track in no time. I also have Diesels in North and Mid Wales, it's like my bible so much good info. Two other books I have that I find very useful are 'Freight Only' Vol 3 Wales & Scotland, and 'Colour of the North Wales Main Line' by Larry Goddard. Cheers Peter.
  3. Thanks Rich, No worries re the wiring diagram I will do some more research on what rotary switch I need as I like the idea of having both signal linked together. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks Merf, Thought you might know the gen on Transits. I think I will keep it as it doesn't look out of place. I have a Sherpa kit to do they did seem to be more common. Cheers Peter.
  5. Have a great show Ian. Say hi to the boys for me. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Simon, Not yet I am short of funds at the moment and still plenty to do on Llanbourne. I think Neil aka 'Class 66' had got a few of someone There were some nice centre headcode loco's about 37262 was a beast. You could always get another complete Split box loco. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Andy, Kind words indeed, Cheque is in the mail. lol My class 47 are Bachmann and one Lima. The Heljan and Vi-trains class 47 are good too though for me the Bachmann one looks right and runs the best. The newer models don't have the rivets round the windows which can be removed without too much trouble on the older models. My three blue loco's are all the early model model and with a bit of extra work they have come up well. The blue grey TPOs were about in the 80s and there was a Daily TPO working to Holyhead. The red livery came out at the end of 86 I think. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Jinty, Glad to see you kept a few of you 00 loco's. Though I am loving the 7mm stuff you are doing. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Pete, Slight problem with my 47570 is that it's has no motor. It's a Lima model which I did years ago I took the motor out last year to have the loco as a dummy. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Andy, Get that blue fleet out and give them a run. lol Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Adrian, I think I might look into the rotary switches for the signals though I need work out which type to get. Interesting gen on the Transits too I think I will just give mine a light weathering and change the reg. Cheers Peter.
  12. Thanks Dave, I will keep an eye out for the new 47s I bought one recently too couldn't resist another Large Logo loco. The headcode combinations are a minefield as are other detail differences. I haven't had time to do any more research on the Royal Mail van yet though I am sure it will be ok for 86-87. Cheers Peter.
  13. So class 47s, Brush 4s or Duffs or Rancid Spoons depending on whether or not you liked them were pretty much everywhere during the mid 80s. They worked anything from single wagon trip workings to class 1 passenger trains travelling almost the length of the UK. I wasn't a fan back in the day but once I started to work on the railway I realised what reliable and useful loco's they were. As a shunter I spent a bit of time in the cab and had several runs down the Fawley and back even had a doze while waiting for the road up the yard. Llanbourne's class 47 are kept pretty busy. There are too many diagrams to mention but all Euston- Holyhead trains are booked 47/4 one Trans- Pennine duty is booked a 47/4 to Llanbourne the loco works a return trip to Man Vic. The 4D05 vans from Manchester to Bangor and return is also a class 47/4. The daily 7D14 Speedlink from Warrington is booked a 47/0 this loco also works the trip to Holyhead before returning to Warrington. Class 47s can also turn up on any other working vice other motive power. 47106 CD, 47418 GD, 47515 I OC. 47535 R BS, 47561 CD, 47570 SF, 47613 I CD. Cheers Peter.
  14. Thanks Stu, Hadn't thought about missing the Amber might have to give that some thought, wiring isn't my strong point so I will try and keep it simple but you diagram is quite useful. Cheers Peter.
  15. Thanks Mate, looks like rotary switch could be the go. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Pete, Thanks for the gen on the Transit I will at some point change the reg. C or D reg fits my time period I will keep then both fairly clean. Thanks also for the link I hadn't thought about linking the two signals together. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Rich, Let me know how you go but I am liking the rotary switch idea if I ca link the two signals together. Cheers Peter.
  18. Ha ha, couldn't bring yourself to sell all your oo then. You did have some nice class 47s from memory. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Simon, Just found your layout thread. Looking good so far and nice weathering on the class 37/4. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Jinty, The Mineral wagon does look good. I nearly bought a Catfish kit a few years ago from M&M they don't look to bad and way cheaper than a Hejan one. Keep up the great work Mate. Cheers Peter.
  21. So a few pics of what I have been doing. Two Eckon signal kits, one is a 3 aspect with route indicator and one a 3 aspect with shunt signal to replace the 2 aspect one near the station. Some time ago someone on here told me they should be 3 aspect rather than 2. If anyone has any idea how to wire a 3 aspect can you let me know. Another project thats starting to take shape is 47636 the body is a flush fronted 535 model which I have cut and filled new headcodes into. I also have two new arrivals in the form of MK3 Transit vans though both have are H reg which makes them 1990? but I am sure the MK3s came out mid 80s. I hope the Royal Mail van isn't too modern in that Livery not sure when that first appeared. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Jeff, It will be nice to see whatever you get done Mate. Sorry to hear the back has been giving you trouble again, I know how painful it can be. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Jinty, Thanks mate, we were away for a few days the other week then had a weekend at a freinds house then I was sick for a few days so it's been a busy time. Anyway I have do a few things and took some pics tonight of my class 47 fleet. Cheers Peter.
  24. Hi Jeff, You are making some good progress. At this rate you will have the top level running in time for your meeting. Cheers Peter.
  25. Hi Rich, Now that is a Beast you can't beat a ploughed up Scottish Tractor. The loco shed is looking good too. Cheers Peter.
