  1. Hi Marcus, Looks like you had a good day out with the 50s. My mate was on the the tour and enjoyed it. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Rick, I will be having a look myself in September we ended up flying with Royal Brunei we got cheap flight but with two stops just over $1200 each. The shed has been a bit cold but the heater takes the chill off. Cheers Peter. Thanks Mate. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Rick, Can't do that weekend as we are away in Kerang. I could do July 9th or 10th if thats any good. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Rick, Let me know when you are free, happy to bring up the 101 and give it a test run up the branch. Cheers Peter.
  5. Thanks Andy, If you think the grass looks good then I am happy, you are a bit of a wiz with the static grass so I am glad you like it. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Jim, Westbury was the best spot for 56s down my way though we did get them over Eastleigh a fair bit on stone traffic. It was mostly the WR loco's though we did get a few Totton ones down our way when the miners strike was on. Cheers Peter.
  7. Loving the trackwork Jinty, it's looking superb. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Rick, Good to have you back. Nice to see trains running already, it was a lovely Winters day today nice to see the sun out for most of it. I have a Hornby 101 with the new type motor and it has traction tyres might be worth testing it on your branch. We could swap motors if you want as I have another 101 with new type motor and no traction tyres and it runs fine on Llanbourne. Cheers Peter.
  9. A bit of a two in one post. First up class 56s on the North Wales Coast were not common alomg the coast in my 85 -87 time period. They did turn up on test from Crewe but that was about it. I have borrowed a working from the early 80s to run my class 56070. For a time in the early 80s 56s worked a regular train of MGRs loaded with fly ash which was used to help build the A55. 56070 TO is seen running LE. Part two of the post is to show some recent scenic work. I have been playing with static grass and have added a few trees and a hedge in the fields. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Guys, I only have the two signals so will probably go the simpler option. I just need to see if I can find somewhere local to get the switches. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Ian, Thanks for taking the time to do this for me. I quite like how it works too, I have two 3 aspect signals so would need 3 switches I can put them together where the switch is for the one I removed on the main panel. Cheers Peter.
  12. Thanks Jinty, even looking at a rotary switch I am not sure how it would work getting the colours in the correct sequence. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks Mike & Rich, A nice little layout thanks for the clip Rich I found a longer one on you tube. Cheers Peter.
  14. Thanks Rich, I think the nearest we will get to a time machine is going out and running trains from the 80s on our layouts. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Jinty, Thanks for the link. Says out of stock at the moment though so will try another time. Quick question you might know, do you think it would be possible to add another signal to the one switch so when one is red the other is orange etc? Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Rich, That new steamer does look very nice. Whats the name of the layout in your last pic with the class 27 on shed wouldn't mind seeing some more of that it looks pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Kevin, They are a nice kit. I am sure Leaford will keep you busy it's quite a layout you have now so there will always be something for you to do. Llanbourne did an exhibition at Brockenhurst in 93 -4 before I left for Oz. I used to help John run Hollybank and also helped design build and run Mossbank so could have been any of those. Cheers Peter.
  18. Thanks Neil. one of those loco's you really have to have. Cheers Peter.
  19. Oh yes the only loco I have bought this year is Bachmann's 47436 it will be changed to 47455 a pretty standard Crewe based Duff. Unlike 47636 which will have black headcodes ploughs and Scotty Dog. No work on the loco's this week as I have been doing some scenery playing aroung with some static grass. Hope you are all well. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Jim, Where did I mention a conversion project? I have a couple of class 47 on the work bench and some signals but that's it at the moment. Cheers Peter.
  21. Looking good Kevin, that's quite a building. I was thinking today it must have been another layout, can't remember the name right now though. Something Mills. Do you have any plans to build another exhibition layout or will Leaford be it for a while yet. Cheers Peter.
  22. Thanks Nigel, I would probably have been helping to operate John's Hollybank unless we had Mossbank up and running by then. As I said to Kevin my memory of the layout at Brockenhurst isn't the best as I was sure it had overhead. I certainly remember some of Kevin's lovely stock the PW train being one of them. As you say a true classic How about another one Kevin. Cheers Peter.
  23. Thanks Kevin, My memory of the layout isn't very good to be honest but then I don't remember what I did last week. I am sure I saw it at another show too as I am sure I remember it with the Overhead, and as Nigel mentioned you didn't have the Overhead up at the Brock show. Did you do a show down in the West which was an all D&E show? I think we took Mossbank and I am sure Somerford was there too. I remember being fairly hungover on the Sunday. Cheers Peter.
  24. That brings back some memories, I am sure I saw Leaway park a couple of times. Pretty sure Kevin took it to one of our Brockenhurst shows. Thanks for posting this up Nigel. Cheers Peter.
