  1. Thanks John, I might try the Muz method first but if I balls it up I will have a go at your idea. I can see why Hornby changed it as the wire contacts don't always do the job. Cheers Peter.
  2. Love that class 26 what a Beast. Are JLTRT good to deal with? I could do with a few spares myself. Cheers Peter.
  3. Yes you are right about that blue there is a preserved class 31 going round in that liv at the moment. I think anything 60's is going to have to have a fair bit of crud on it, should look good when it's done. Did you weather the 4f yet? Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Trev, Nice shot of the layout, and the Named Ped. Some good shots of class 37s from back in the day too. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Jinty, The Pannier looks and sounds great though I am no expert on steam sound. I like the blue livery too. lol It looks nice gliding over your trackwork. Presume it will be BR black. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Muz, Nice model it certainly looks better with the tender closer. I didn't know the newer models had a permanent drawbar. Anyway I will try your method thanks again. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Andy, There is a short vid of the class 26 running round on the other page but yes I need to do more from the station area. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Pete, I still have a few left, but then I will try and do some with the camera which might be better than the i phone. Cheers Peter.
  9. Nice work on those Bogies Andrew, They look superb, as for the fronts I think the 74 does look a bit better but the DC one is ok too. Though I am no expert. I don't really remember the class 71's. I only remember seeing the 74's in a scrap line at Eastleigh open day I think 1978. I don't remember seeing them running, though I am sure I would have seen them pass through Sway in the mid 70s. A head on shot of 74004 I found on Flickr shows that your rubbing plate could come up a bit but apart from that it looks pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  10. Two more video's taken a while back. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Andrew, I was never that fussed about them in the early days but when they started to appear at Eastleigh I thought it was great, though I didn't get to see them for long as I left the UK not long after they started to become more common. I do like the class 60's I was working at Eastleigh East Yard when they first came out but don't worry it's not staying. As for class 66's I am not a fan so wont be buying one. Cheers Peter.
  12. Another question. I am looking at the gap between the loco and tender. Does this look too wide or is this the same on all of Hornbys re built Bulleid's. Thanks Peter.
  13. Hi Marcus, It does, there is other stock I need so it will have to go. I will put it on Ebay next week. You might like the pic though. 58035 has a test run after some weathering etc. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Andy, Nice work on the boards a bit of a milestone. Have a look at at Jason's Bacup layout thread thread, I am pretty sure he used the watered down Copydex for tracklaying and ballasting. It's supposed to be better than PVA which dries so hard and makes things noisy. Cheers Peter.
  15. Thanks Trev, The class 60 is pretty much as I bought it, but It does need to go. If I keep it for too long I will want to keep it. I might sort out some couplers and put it back on ebay. I did finish another type 5 tonight though. 58035 was given a test run. I will post up a pic or two in the next few days. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Guys, I think Mark is now with Railtrack. I know him but not that well I follow him on Flickr though. so he could be contacted that way. I could ask my Brother if it's any help he is still in contact with him. They knew each other from work as my Brother worked at Bournemouth for a few years and I think Mark worked at Branksome Box. Cheers Peter.
  17. The class 26 runs round then departs. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Guys, What a superb layout, I always thought Bournemouth West would make a good model. I was born in 68 so missed out on Steam but have always liked Bulleid's and the S&D since operating a club members S&D layout at a show in the early 80s. Best of luck with the layout. Cheers Peter.
  19. The only good thing in that pic is the 33. Seriously I think it looks great, may be a few shrubs on the bank or a different type of tree mixed with the ones you have done. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Marcus, If it was a triple Grey livery loco I would be very tempted to keep it. My fear is this would lead to more triple Grey loco's and something in Dutch which was always a favourite back in the day. I am still looking for a Heljan class 26 so need the money really. Glad you like the class 37. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Neil, It is a nice model but if I keep this I will be buying a class 66 next and I don't want to be doing that. lol Cheers Peter.
  22. Thanks Andy, I must admit I thought it was a more recent addition. I even had a Lodhaul Lima class 60 and never noticed it, well thats if they ever had one on that model. Cheers Peter.
  23. Another video, This is a Mates class 26 with Biffo sound. We had a bit of a running day a few months back with his 26s and 27s working most of the trains. Cheers Peter.
  24. Now we are talking, what a beast. Looks like a Heljan model though how have you fitted your RC gear to it. Cheers Peter.
  25. If I can't sell it i might have too. lol Cheers Peter.
