  1. Thanks Andy, I don't mind doing the old Steamers I had to look at a few pics but found a few nice 60s shots of Spam cans in run down condition so copied them. The loco ran well on my mates exhibition layout on Sunday I had great fun running a few Southern loco's I really liked the sound in some of the loco's too. Cheers Peter.
  2. The Rat is looking better already, the bigger windows certainly make a difference. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Doug, It's worth coming down on a running day the K class or one of the two T class normally work the train down to Mornington then run round and come back it's not a long stretch of line but a good run. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks Rick, No worries it was good to catch up. Cheers Peter.
  5. My model of 34069 Hawkinge. A basic re number and weather job. I am still waiting for an AWS box to arrive but otherwise I am quite happy with this. Cheers Peter.
  6. A bit of a train day today. On the way to SRmans BRMA meeting I called into the my local preserved line. I thought they had a train running today but it was just driver training on the K class and T class diesel. This evening I finished a loco that has been on the workbench the last few weeks. Something a bit different. 34069 Hawkinge is just a renumber and weathering job I have added a crew but still need to get an AWS box for the front. I have ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Jeff, Stop wiping the tears from your eyes and lay some more track. See you tomorrow looking forwards to seeing that top section running.lol Cheers Peter.
  8. You would have been leaving the year I started, though I was just a shunter. 25322 wasn't the only 25 to get the Castle name there were a few other unofficial ones painted during the late 80s. I can just imagine some guys painting a full size loco with a small tin, it would take a while.lol I think Precision and railmatch have both provided Paint to BR for special repaints over the years. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Rick, Nice set of pics, I really like the shot of the 50 coming round the curve. Didn't think you would have run anything today as it's been raining nearly all day quite a change from early in the week. See you tomorrow. Cheers Peter.
  10. Nice Pair. Of DMUs in the station.
  11. Thanks Simon, I think my problem is the camera I am using would be about 8 years old now so something newer is needed I think. Cheers Peter.
  12. Thanks Stu, Noticed you have been busy on your layout too. It's looking great. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks Peter, I noticed a few likes. Glad you like the layout you can't beat a bit of BR blue. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi John, Didn't know you were the area Engineer on the Eastern. Nice touch the GWR style lettering I mean it was a Castle. 25322 had a charmed life really as I think at one point it was withdrawn and the Apprentices at Toton gave it the the new paint job and got it going. The Ice Cream van livery as it was called made it a bit of a celebrity. During 85 it was renumbered 25912 giving it another new lease on life and it was one of the last class 25s running in 87. Your gang at Holbeck probably saved it again making it a favourite for railtours and later for preservation. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Simom, Nice set of pics, Love the video too those 37s sound Hellfire. Can I ask what you use for videoing? Cheers Peter.
  16. A couple more pics taken the other day. I did notice when weathering the class 58 that the early loco's have a different exhaust silencer. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Andy, The quality isn't very good I need to get something better to record train movements. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi John, I don't mind the two tone green but blue is the colour for me. Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks mate, I gave the 58 another run on Sunday. It's a nice model. Cheers Peter.
  20. I think I need to get myself something better to do video's with. Any thoughts. Cheers Peter.
  21. I had a running session yesterday and a mate of mine came round with a few of his class 26s and 27. I did a a few video's but this time with the digital camera. They don't seem to be any better that the one taken with my i phone but I will load a few up. My friend also brought me a surprise that he has been working on for a while. It's a loco that has been on my to do list for over 20 years and will look very much at home on Llanbourne. Cheers Peter.
  22. Some good progress Jeff, Will it be running by next week. Cheers Peter.
  23. Layout is looking good Trev. The grass looks pretty good to me but may be mix the lighter grass with another green to blend it in a bit better. You might like this. Biffs sound in the lead loco with sugar cube speaker, two wires lead to the second loco which has the motor removed and a sugar cube speaker sat in the middle. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks Lee, I might get in touch with JLTRT and see about a few bits when I get round to doing my class 26 and 37. Love that class 33. Top job. Cheers Peter.
  25. You are right Andy, I confused myself when writing my post. Yes the class 71 does look better in the front I am sure the 74 will come up well though. Looking at it again I think it's the windows that could do with some work my be. Cheers Peter.
