  1. Hi Marcus, 25904 was done some time ago. All I did the other day was change the chassis block and bogies to fit the 21 pin decoder. Having said that the blue on the body was sprayed, but the yellow ends and weathering was done by brush the roof was then sprayed with a matt varnish from a can. What was weathered the other day were the bogies which I brush painted I also used some powders but I don't do this on everything. I would give it a go I normally give the underframes a good coat of paint then when dry do a bit more. Best advice I can give is find a pic of the loco you want to do and copy the weathering. Quite often you will find the loco isn't totally covered in grime just pick the area's that are. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Andy, I had noticed you had the 7mm bug again. I will be following your thread I have thought about a small 7mm shunting layout myself. Cheers Peter.
  3. Thanks Lee, The Dapol 08 does look like a great model but 200 quid would get me half way to getting a Heljan class 25. I saw a Mates when I was over last month and although it has its faults it's a damn nice model. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks Doug, Should be spending more time on it really but I have been working on a few loco's. Cheers Peter.
  5. I now have another class 25 with sound. Thanks to SRman for sorting the reblow. It took some doing as I had to replace the 8 pin chassis under 904 with a 21 pin chassis from a loco that still need to be worked on. also nearly ready for use are a couple of Heljan Dogfish that I have repainted. A bit of work on the layout too. I have added some water taps and hoses in the carriage sidings. Also added a pic of 08472. And no I haven't ordered an O gauge one. Cheers Peter.
  6. I wouldn't look too close. lol It does take a lot longer this way too. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Martyn, Thanks for the link I hadn't seen that. Some nice pic there, I will have more of a look when I get some time. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Marcus, It was, we had a few ales, and some lunch. Will certainly do the narrow gauge next time. Waiting on transfers for the class 31, still other loco's to work on though. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Trev, Had these two last month. Could be, either way the bit that joins the motors is the bit that slips. Fiddleyard is coming on well. Llanbourne has a few 3 ways in the fiddleyard they seem to work quite well. Cheers Peter.
  10. Hi Trev, Nice set of pics, I found my shots from Weymouth. Your class 33 could have a loose driveshaft, well the bit that joins to the motor I am not sure what the parts called but they can become loose. It is quite common on their class 47s. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Trev, The layout is looking great. I like your new class 37 too. Your Crompton looks nice too I think the Dutch livery suited them. I am glad you got your class 60 sorted too. I remember 37408 from back in the day too. I had from Inverness to Kyle and back during the early 90s then about a year later saw it down at Weymouth on a Bristol train. It still had a Scottie dog on one side too. Cheers Peter.
  12. Nice looking Layout Lee, Your loco fleet has grown since I saw it last. Cheers Peter.
  13. Well I haven't bought an 08. and it's Summer here. lol
  14. Ha ha nothing happening yet. I am still planning on building a small 00 layout first but I do have a few bits of 7mm stock so something will get built one day. Cheers Peter.
  15. Thanks Simon, Even better in that it's been brush painted as my Air brush isn't set up yet. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Paul, Thanks for giving me the part number. I have check out the pics and they look like they should be ok. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Trev, I have removed it so will try railtec or someone. Cheers Peter.
  18. Not much to report really I have been doing a few bits on the layout and working on a few loco's. I started to put the transfers on my class 31 until I put on these rub on Railfreight signs on. I think they look to big. Anyone know who does the correct sized ones. I am a bit annoyed with myself as I ordered some bits of Fox the other day. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Marcus, Sorry I thought I had replied to this. We did stop at Ravenglass and did see the narrow gauge but we went to the pub for lunch and beers so didn't do it. The lakes are on our to do list for the next visit. Cheers Peter.
  20. Looks Great Alex, Good to see you finding a bit of modelling time. I have sent you a PM. Cheers Peter.
  21. Well you have been busy. It's looking great the trains look spot on going through that lovely Pointwork. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Andy, Two against one isn't fair is it, though I am not sure it took much to get you thinking. You are not the only one to be thinking about a layout over a fiddleyard I have been doing the same. Look forwards to your new thread. Cheers Peter.

    Dapol 08

Can anyone tell me what TOPs numbers we can use on this model as it has the long hinges on the doors so might limit what numbers could be done. Cheers Peter.
