  1. Thanks Mark, It was taken a while ago. I wanted to show the signals near the station. D200 is working the Irish Mail which is normally class 47 turn. I don't normally pit the headboard on the train but thought why not as it was something different to the normal class 47. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Andy, Thanks for the info. I am not sure if I understand you correctly but there is another signal between the latest one with Distant arm just outside the tunnel. Pic below. I am almost at the ballasting stage I need to do a small ground frame for the station cross over. My usual method for ballasting has always been the watered down PVA but I have bought some latex based glue like Copydex as I have read it keeps the sound down a bit. So far this isn't working very well as the latex glue isn't drying after 3 days. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Marcus, The layout is looking great, all the little bits and pieces have come together well. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Dave, I found a pic of 47001 I took back in the day. It's actually working a local Speedlink just outside Southampton. Cheers Peter.
  5. No worries Dave, The pic of 510 at Glasgow showed it with black headcode box. It's funny that although 510 used to follow me around I don't seem to have any pics of it. 47444 was another loco that I used to see a lot of, 33018 was another one. Why not keep the Heljan 47s they are not that bad are they? I must admit I don't have any myself but yours look fine. Cheers Peter.
  6. Looks like you had fun playing trains Andy, You have some very nice weathered up steam loco's there mate I really like the Std 4 and 7f, the little Ivatt on the turntable looks nice too. I have one that was weathered up by a friend who passed away a few years ago. I need to get a chassis for it really as it's a none runner at the moment. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Dave, Super job on the class 24. I was so tempted to get one myself. 47510 used to follow me around, I forget how many times I saw it working through Sway on inter regional's to and from Poole. A quick look on Flickr shows pics of 510 at Glasgow and Dundee. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Kevin, Hope you are well, your recent wagons conversions look great. Really like the van and Capri with boot open. Cheers Peter.
  9. That Banger Blue Grid looks superb Cav. Always good to see some progress on the layout. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Lee, I good selection of buffers and other bits and bobs. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Lee, Nice work on the class 37, it sounds great. Who's buffers do you use on the class 37 ? I need to get round to doing mine at some point. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Dave, This board is Sundela so I didn't use boiling water though a mate did it on his layout and it seemed to help. I pulled up the rail then used a hammer and chisel to get most of the sleepers and ballast off. Some sanding finished it off. The track is now wired up so just needs to be fully tested. I am thinking of using something other than watered down PVA when I come to ballasting this time. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks, I might look into that. I will have a look at some pics of Holyhead and see how the crossovers were done there. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Marcus, Ped on Ballast ready to go. Some wiring to do first though. Cheers Peter.
  15. I hope so too Andy, It might take a bit of time it's turned into a bit of a job. Cheers Peter.
  16. Thanks John, Only had a few days so did the tourist thing Bridge, Rocks etc. Had a catch up with some family too. We will do a longer trip next time though so will let you know. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Jeff, I have wires everywhere under the layout at the moment. Track power 2 uncouplers and 3 point motors to sort out before the power goes on. Cheers Peter.
  18. We have just got back from a few days in Newcastle and Sydney. So not a lot done in the last week. I did get the new track down before we left including a catch point made from an old point blade. Wiring up in the next job. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Andy, I have had a few days away so just catching up. I think it's looking pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Marcus, You finally got out on the coast. Looks like you and the nipper had a good day, can't beat a nice bit of 37 thrash. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Trev, 37116 looks nice. Is it running well now? A few of mine don't run as well as they should. I remember 116 in Large Logo, It used to turn up down Southampton way in the early 90s. Cheers Peter.
  22. Always good to see an update. The layout is looking great. There are a few mods to make a 45/1, let me know when you are going to start I will tell you what I have done to my older Bachmann Peaks. Cheers Peter.
  23. Great news Alex, I was only thinking today when your website would be up and running. Just had a look and it's good to see you are going to do some 7mm numbers. I am sure you will do well it's a great product. All the best Peter.
  24. I have a pic of a blue grey 4TC at Bristol on a Pompey train back in the mid 80s but this was the only time and probably due to a stock shortage. During the late 80s early 90s TCs did make it to Cardiff on Rugby Specials. Two TCs made it to North Wales too but I wont be buying one, bit out of my price range for now. Cheers Peter.
  25. Hi Rich, I did mean clamp lock, looks like I didn't type the m. Cheers Peter.
