  1. Thanks Mark, Glad it keeps you inspired I have a few layout threads I like to visit for a bit of inspiration. The 150 has an old Howes sound chip in it but it sounds quite good. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Merf, I did too. I picked up a Hornby CAR but in a livery thats a bit late for Llanbourne it is a very nice model though. If Hornby had released their new brake van earlier I would have bought a few but I had done most of my Bachmann ones by then though adding pipes and roller bearings isn't too hard to do they are still a nice little model. Cheers Peter,
  3. Hi Nick, Thanks for the PM very helpful. I have seen pics of a barrier which looks like an SAA but has some upright panels on the wagon floor wouldn't mind doing that one if I can get a decent pic. will keep a look out for a vented VAA but haven't seen one yet. I have several vans in those liveries and an olive green one with yellow ends which I have seen some pics of. Cheers Peter.
  4. Not really much happening at the moment but I did run some trains for a friend at the weekend so have been running a few trains the last few nights. So just a few Phone pics. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Nick, Nice little project this, Will be following with interest. Your work on and info on the barrier wagons is interesting too as I need to do a few myself. I did a few years ago using the Hornby chassis but I have a Bachmann VAA chassis in bits at the moment so any pics or your conversion will be very helpful. I notice also that you are going to cut the vent off your VAA and I was going to do the same but I am sure I saw a pic somewhere of a vented one on the North Wales Coast. I did a conversion of a Hornby VDA to VAA years ago and did it without the vent so I have a least one that is correct. There does seem to be a nice variety of Brake vans used on the trains down the branch. I have used the Bachmann model and replaced the axle boxes with roller bearings. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Simon, Any pics of your model would be great I need to do one myself. Thanks Peter.
  7. Hi Damian, A mate of mine gave me this mag a few weeks ago. Nice little section on Inverness depot, might be worth having a look. My favourite class 37 back in the day was this beast. Cheers Peter
  8. So my pic would have been the other side of the triangle. I never did actually get round the depot so used to walk up the car park and get what i could. I took this pic when I was over last year, so presume I was near the same spot though looking right not left. The erea has certainly changed a bit over the years but at least a depot is still there. Cheers Peter.
  9. I think north of the area you are modelling but still in the Triangle of tracks.Could be the carriage sidings area. Cheers Peter.
  10. Hi Damian, Glad to see this idea up and going again. Always thought it would be a good layout. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Phill, I have used Modelmaster for my 4mm stuff so will check out their website. I like the pressfix too so will look for some of them. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Rick, Hope all is well. Funny you say that I have never seen it either but 4 went up a few weeks back then a few days after that an XR BL and G went up. The X class worked down again on Friday too. Cheers Peter.
  13. I don't normally put up pics of the Aussie stuff on this thread but some of you might like this. The local steel train though probably not that local as it's a 25 minute drive. Anyway normally double headed the other day saw 4 loco's due a failure. In the end this train left a lot later and the front loco was shunted back to be the second loco. X44 BL34 XR558 and G541 wait to leave Long Island Jct. Cheers Peter
  14. Thanks Lee, I have done something similar with 4mm did you paint the dots or are they a transfer. Cheers Peter.
  15. Loving the 7mm stuff Lee, How did you do the headcode dots on 45036 I need to do that on mine. Cheers Peter.
  16. Nice rake of weathered wagons there Phill. Who's transfers do you use I am going to need to get some. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Mate, No much going on this week it's been pretty cold here so I haven't been out to the garage this week. Cheers Peter.
  18. Totally agree Ian, The great thing about 2mm is the fact that you can have more scenery and run full length trains. Cheers Peter.
  19. I did wonder if there was a reason. Plus you have to buy two and I bet they don't do dummies. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Steve & Jinty, I have a Parkside Grampus that I made a few years ago which is a super kit. I don't mind the Slaters either I am part way through building a BR brake van. Not done anything JLTRT yet but they do look like a nice kit. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Cav, Thanks for taking the time to do a few stock pics. If you didn't know you would be hard to tell it's 2mm. Super work you can't beat a ploughed up Duff. I notice the stock list doesn't have any class 20s and another Peak would be nice. Though to be honest you could keep building stock for this layout for years. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Jeff. The goods shed is looking great, I quite like the Wills sheets and used a few myself I have hidden joins by using a soldering iron to melt some motar lines into the plastic. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Steve, The Crompton and van are looking very nice, they do seem to come up well the old JLTRT kits. Cheers Peter.
  24. Looks great Cav, Looking forwards to seeing some stock on it. Cheers Peter.
  25. A couple of mine. Hope they are of some use. Looking forwards to seeing some pics of your Pusher, they were always my favourite used to see them nearly everyday as a kid. Cheers Peter.
