  1. Hi Alan, It's been a while since i have dropped in. I have to say it's looking great. You have really got that urban feel happening. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Jinty, I had a look the other day but tried 12 volt transformer rather than power supply and got some better results. It does bring up another question though, and that is what Amps do I need ? There was quite a lot to choose from. Cheers Peter.
  3. Thanks for the help Andy Martyn and John. I managed to fit two motors tonight and have soldered wires to the point motor, I like the idea of wiring them to a connector block so will get some tomorrow. I also need to find a 12v power supply so any cheap idea's welcome. Cheers Peter.
  4. The loco hauled train finished in 2007, it's just a Sprinter unit now. The set of points they where having trouble with was interlocked with a signal and I remember seeing the loco crew having problems with it. Cheers Peter.
  5. Thanks Andy. Yes that is helpful and it shows what I have done so far is right with regards to the point wiring. I am still not sure what terimal on the tortoise I wire the frog wire too though. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi All, I have made a start on wiring, and have put a few droppers in. I have also modified my Peco points a bit more as I have decided to use a few Tortoise point motors. The slight problem is I have googled how to wire these up. There seems to be different ways of doing it so any advice would be great. What I am not sure about is what terminal to wire the frog too, as I only have the one wire coming from the point and some wiring diagrams have two. also I am going to use a DPDT switch but some of mine are, on on and some are on off on. Any help would be great cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Jeff, Thanks for an enjoyable meeting on Saturday. It was great to watch the trains running on the top level. I think the parcel train split on Saturday, I was sure it was a low coupler. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Ian, Nice work on the class 33 I have a class 26 so will give your bogie mod a go. Here is an A class in an older livery working a Stony Point train. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Scott, Looking good so far, great to see you back modelling again. All the best Peter.
  10. Hi Guys, I wouldn't mind a TTA chemical tank Like the ones used on the Amlwch traffic in North Wales. Cheers Peter.
  11. Correct Jeff, All being well I will be up to yours next week. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Rick, Glad you are going ok. It does seem that the weather was very unusual especially for this time of year. Good to hear things are back to normal, though as you know everyday day on the railway is different. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks Mate, Nice pic. I still think that these days the trains should be able to handle some snow and ice, it seems it comes down not being prepared. The weather here is cooling down now and the days are getting shorter, must admit not looking forwards to the colder weather but it might mean I get somthing done in the garage. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Rick, Hope you and Sharon are well and enjoying life in London. Yes my dad did mention a train getting stuck down Christchurch way. Passenger stuck for the night until a train was sent wrong line and parked next to the stranded train. Glad things are back to normal now. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Andy, I spoke to my parents last night and they had quite a bit down in Sway. Must admit I don't mind the snow as it was quite a novelty down South although once it turns to slush and ice it's no fun. You can send some over if you want I am pretty sure it has never snowed here in Safety Beach, though it does snow up in the North of the state during winter. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Dan, All good thanks mate, I have lost a bit of the old mojo recently to be honest. I have been doing a few bits and pieces on the workbench and with the 7mm stuff though. I really need to get on with the loco shed I started last year and now with some cooler weather on the forecast I might want to get out to the garage and do a bit. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Ian, I did read that some time ago but had forgotten about it. My class 26 will probably stay as is for now, it's something I can live with. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Jeff, You seem to be getting a bit done at the moment. Will the top level be running by the time you have your meeting next month. Cheers Peter.
  19. Needs more than the focus to be sorted. Lol
  20. Hi Neil, I actually stopped posting on this thread as most of what I was doing ended up on my Llanbourne thread. Recently I have been doing some work on a 7mm class 45 and a VAA wagon which is on my Holmes Road thread. I have also been working on a class 37 and a class 26 in 4mm. Cheers Peter.
  21. Looking good Nick. Any info on how you did your latest barrier wagon. Looks like an ex SPA. I have one to do myself so any info would be most useful. Cheers Peter.
  22. Agree John, I should have said Also change direction.
  23. Nice work on the rodding Jinty. As you probably know the Compensators change the direction of the pull. From memory each run should be about 50 50 push pull as it makes it easier for the signalman when pulling the leaver in the box. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks John, I plan to put sound in a few loco's at some point. I will see how I go and it I have problems will get a booster. Cheers Peter.
  25. Hi Chris, Thanks Nice layout by the way. My worry was that the Heljan draw a bit more power. It seems that a few 7mm guys are using the Powercab so it should be ok for my little shunting layout. Cheers Peter.
