  1. As Much as I like living near Melbourne I do like going to Sydney. Anyway since my meeting the other week I have put the Diesels back on. Each loco coach and wagon was given a quick once over before being put back on the track. I have a list of things that need doing like painting some wheels replacing a few air pipes and fixing a few speedo cables. Something I did do when putting the stock back on was to clean the wheels quite a number of wagons and coaches where quite dirty. I have also been running the timetable and the videos below show some of the early morning trains. The class 37 hauled train is heading back to Cardiff on a vans/passenger working. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Andy, Good to see you back, I see you are taking it easy. Cheers Peter.
  3. If you get any kickbacks Jeff you have to buy a diesel, though I am sure you wont mind as you like your diesels too.
  4. Evening here, lol I do remember some grey looking curtains on some units, but it was probably only in fist class. It wouldn't surprise me if the curtains were removed from TCs they were only being used on secondary services near the end. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Ian, The layout is looking great. I like the 4 TC too didn't remember them removing the curtains though. Your container wagon looks nice too, did some of the containers come out in a green colour too? Scenery looks good on Oak Road I will have to go check that out. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Alan, Don't worry they are all back on, the bin wouldn't be big enough to fit them all in. Cheers Peter.
  7. Well yep that might cost a bit. lol
  8. No Worries Trev, I would like a few more steam loco's a 9F is high on the list. I noticed a new Ivatt tank is now out too so tempting. Thing is I need a few more 7mm wagons before I worry about more 4mm steamers. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Trev, Nice work on the point rodding. Certainly cheaper than buying point motors. As for uncoupling I use Kadee's and think they work pretty well. Agree the cost is a downside but I just bought a packet here and there when I first started. I fitted a few loco's then on the end of wagon and coach rakes. Cheers Peter.
  10. Nice couple of video's, I am gutted I didn't get the gen on the 20 working I would have gone out for it. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Trev, It's actually a Standard 4 but you are right in thinking it might be a 2P as they where regular pilot loco's. It;s one of two loco's I would like to have run the other being a 9F. Cheers Peter.
  12. Thanks Peter, I will certainly have a look at it anyway. Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Rick, Seen it but never used it. The M7 isn't used that often so I am not so bothered. I will sort it one day. Cheers Peter.
  14. Thanks Jeff, If I could pick up a cheap railroad 4f I would give it a go. If I found a Bachmann 4f for a good price I would keep it as is and weather that. Having said that non of these are high on the to do list but its good to know. Cheers Peter.
  15. Thanks Dave, I might look out for one then, I guess it would be DCC ready too. The M7 and Q1 where weathered by a friend who passed away a few years back. He used to do a super job. This M7 is a shocker for traction it has trouble on two coaches, so I will try your idea. I think Q1s would have worked well on the S&D. Cheers Peter.
  16. Thanks Will, Still plenty to do though working on the layout will slow down now as working on it outside will get harder due to the days getting shorter and colder. Cheers Peter.
  17. Nice to see some work on the layout Jinty. The rodding is looking very nice. Cheers Peter.
  18. So before I put the diesels and stock back on I ran some of my steam stock. Still with the S&D theme. Some stock was just posed for shots as the Std 4 4-6-0s Ivatt tank and 4F are none runners and spend most of their time in a display case. The Std 4 with smaller tender was the first tender loco I ever had. It's an old Mainline model which I have had for over 30 years. The 4F is an old Airfix model which I would like to get going one day. Are the Railroad 4Fs any good I could do a body swap? Although as far as I know Q1s where not seen on the S&D my Q1 is seen on Station pilot duties. Cheers Peter.
  19. A couple of video's from the other day. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Rick, Yes Jeff's class 47 did see some use as did the class 33. 34069 is mine, as you say it does suffer from residue on the tender side. While running it today I gave it a wipe with a damp cloth and it seems to have improved things a bit. I find the best looking coal is the real stuff. Though I am not sure how a spam can would go with this victorian coal though. lol Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Andy, I have some video that I will upload during the week. I thought it looked good with all the steamers, it ran quite well too. Cheers Peter.
  22. Nice work on the roof. i will get round to doing mine one day. Cheers Peter.
  23. I had a BRMA meeting here on Saturday and decided to have a steam running day. I removed all my diesels and stock and asked BRMA members to bring their steam stock. I have always been a fan of the old S&D so asked for trains that might have been seen at Bournemouth West with a few others just to fill some room in the fiddleyard. Cheers Peter.
