  1. Hi Wayne, I have used lazer glaze in a class 33. But not this class 26. I do try and file the window edges and try and get them a bit more flush. I was happy with the laser glaze on the class 33. I just think it's pretty expensive for what you get. Cheers Peter. Hi Wayne, I have used lazer glaze in a class 33. But not this class 26. 2. Thanks Mark. No time to make it up to Scotland. I did manage a day at Swanage yesterday for some class 33 action. Cheers Peter.
  3. Merry Christmas everyone thanks for the likes and comments during the year. The next few weeks will be a bit quiet as I am currently in the UK. We suprised the family Christmas eve though a select few did know we are coming over. I did almost finish 33008 which has been in bits for over 3 years now so I thought I should crack on and finish it. All the best Peter
  4. Thanks Mark, The loco was secondhand so could have been played with. Either way it will be fine and the loco no missing a PCB will get hard wired.
  5. Thanks Jeff, I think it's the PCB I swapped one out of another class 26 changed the decoder. and the lights now work as they should. Cheers Peter.
  6. So the class 26 is pretty much finished and I know they didn't run on the North Wales Coast but one day I am hoping to have enough scottish stock to run Llanbourne as a Scottish based layout. Anyway slight problem. I programmed the decoder in and the loco moved off no problem, I hit the light switch and loco stopped sorted out and decoder went up in smoke. I have never had this happen with my class 33s. So i unplug the lights try another decoder and it runs ok but no lights. Any thoughts? Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Mark, I don't get on here as much these days either. still plenty to do on the layout though recent weeks have been spent working on stock. I have almost finished some ballast wagons and a class 26 which has been on the workbench for over a year. Cheers Peter.
  8. 25904 works the daily Speedlink back to Warrington.
  9. Looking forwards to hearing that. Should be over about 2 if thats ok. Cheers Peter.
  10. So a bit happening in the last few weeks. The Mermaid and Whale are ready for weathering. I have also been working on a class 33 26 and 27 chassis basically fitting ploughs and detailing the bufferbeams plus adding the exhausters to the class 33 chassis also adding crew and doing the bogie mod. Cheers Peter.
  11. 33010 is seen arriving at the carriage siding then running round and shunting a BG. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Guys, Thanks for the info all very useful. I think my Mate is going for the Youchoos sound so will see how he goes. I am sure it will get a run on my layout so I will be interested to see how good it is. Thanks Peter.
  13. I think if Bachmann do a Peak with the sealed beam light set up thy should probably sort the nose grilles out as they are modelled on the type fitted when built and not the modified ones which the old Replica/Bachmann class 45/46 model did have. I converted an old Mainline model years ago from centre split box to sealed Beam lights by filing flat and using brass rod to for the outside of the lights, With my latest Peaks I am thinking of using a few spare old type Bachmann bodies and cut out the grilles and headlights and try and fit them to the latest Bachmann model. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi all, I have a mate looking at geting sound for his Hornby Brit. He is looking at Youchoos, but I haven't used them myself so was wondering who does the best sound. Many thanks Peter.
  15. Hi Stu, The layout is looking great. I like the new additions too, class 31s were quite common with a few based at Old Oak. I do recall reading about class 20s heading down that way too on special freights so why not have a pair. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Nigel, You are making some good progress the fiddleyard looks good. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Andy Nice set of pics, I glad you have decided to go round to the other side of the shed again. My friend has a Minerva Pannier and they are a nice model it's sounds good too, I have been tempted with a Jinty myself. Cheers Peter.
  18. Been very tempted with a Jinty myself, they are a good price at the moment.
  19. Hi Jinty, Thanks for the help, I did as you suggested and the 108 is now running a lot better although a bit slower on take off. I have run the unit in and out of the station a few times now and to be honest I am not sure I like the sound. I might just get a re blow to something less annoying like a class 25. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Dave, Great work on the coaches they do look very good. I think the DBSOs will sell well plenty of Scottish region Modellers have been waiting for quite some time for a decent model. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Ken, Thanks for that I have managed to plug in a cheap 21 pin non sound decoder and the loco seems to be running ok. I will probably just end up getting an 8 pin V4 and hard wiring it. Cheers Peter.
  22. Thanks Jinty, I painted the DAF in a colour scheme I remember from down my way. A local Southampton based mob used to haul steel out of Southampton Down yard so I used to see them most days. Good to know its ok for a North Wales company too. The decoder is a V4 and I didn't know about Autotune, I did reset it to factory by changing CV8 to 8 which did improve it a bit. Cheers Peter.
  23. Thanks Re the coaching stock. It's how I remember most coaching stock rakes back in the mid 80s, I always likes the trans Pennine livery always wondered what a Peak would have looked like in that livery. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks Rick. Must admit this DCC stuff does my head in a bit from time to time. Cheers Peter.
  25. Hi Cav & Alex, So glad to see the wagons have finally arrived and wow don't they look great. Congratulations hope they sell well for you. All the best Peter.
