  1. Hi Bernard, Pretty sure they are the wheels that were on my Cortina and my friends Capri. Cheers Peter.
  2. Great to see this thread still going. Great pics Bruce and John, here are a couple of mine, some posted on the old thread but a few of you may not have seen them. Cheers Peter.
  3. Thanks Neil, Thanks Bernard, thats some useful info and pics I think mine needs a bit of extra work, I have a silver XR3i to do as well so the extra info will be useful for that. I have a Becon models MK 5 Cortina painted like the one I owned but I am not happy with the wheels do you do any to suit, I could use Capri wheels I think they were the same size. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi James, Yours looks good, do you mean the black line right at the bottom of the body? I will have to look at some pics. I turned the wheels down by pulling one wheel off then put it in a mini drill and file it down, go steady though beacause the tryes come off quite easy plus I almost melted one. once you have done one take the tyre off and swap it rather than changing the whole wheel. I lowed the car by removing the body and filing away the lugs, metal at the front plastic at the back. Hope that helps more than it confuses you. Cheers Peter.
  5. Thanks Rick, I know a bloke other here who will give you a roadworthy for $50.00. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi mate, Dak Dak hasn't landed yet. I ordered a Capri as well, thought I might do it as Moods beast we had some good trips in that. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Jack, Has your summer finished already. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Dave, Love the Deltic pics, looks like you had some good weather, I have a friend over your way at the moment he is planning on doing a 40 railtour next week but was going out to view the Deltic. Not that I am jealous or anything. The 37 looks good blue data panel is a nice touch. look forward to the video. Here is the real Beast about to blast out of Haymarket, HELLFIRE. I know you have seen the pic before but I coulden't resist. Cheers Peter,
  9. Hi all, It has been a while since my last update so thought I would show you what I have been up to, which really isn't that much but better than nothing. The UK readers enjoying the nice weather might like to know it has been cold and wet here this week and we have had the fire going. Showers forcast for the weekend to. Anyway here are a few pics, I have been working on a few cars, the Cortina has been given a way past its best look and the Escort has had the rear spoiler removed along with some bodywork to make it a standard MK3 I have lowered it and turned the tyres down a bit, I was going to use some Talors models wheels but they looked a bit small, so I have left the XR3i wheels on as I think plenty of boy racers would have done this. I have also added some Peco buffer stops on the extension which I have altered by using some code 75 rail, similar to Pete Harvey. 47106 is getting there, chassis is done and body needs numbers and windows refitted. Cheers Peter.
  10. Hi Brian, Now I know why its taking so long for you to finish the 27 you have built another loco. Both looking good too, I never saw an 06 in service, they are a nice looking little loco. Good luck with the wasp stripes, I think even in 7mm they could be a pain. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Grimley, 31102 in railfreaight would look nice. You will have to do a bit of track cleaning on Grimley then, funny how time goes by, I haven't run Llanbourne since April apart from test running my new 47. I guess while you are in the mood you should keep going with Boxenby, its looking good. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Grimley, Thats a good find, I do like a good Skinhead, sheds looking good too. Does your layout still get used or are you working on Boxenby full time? I haven't seen any updates for a while. Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Mark, Stunning layout, the scenary and those Scottich sulzers look great. I have a friend on holiday in the UK at the moment and he said he might go to the DEMU show, he will love Portchulin as he is building a Scottish based layout. I noticed Airthrey Park is going to so should be a good show. Cheers Peter,
  14. Hi Pugsley, I must admit I liked the layout from the other side when I saw your pics the other day, but having seen the pics above I think you have got it. The slope does need to be at the front. Now you can crack on and get the track layed and wired up, you will be playing trains by the end of summer. Cheers Peter,
  15. Thanks Flood, I am still tempted to do one though its not high on the to do list. Those outside shots look good, can't believe you guys have done all that in a year, top stuff. I noticed the 08 hasn't had its pipework added yet, I used the Hornby pipework supplied with the model and just tweaked the ones near the middle out a bit and have had no probs with the Kadee not working. Cheers peter,
  16. Hi James, I've been watching your progress on this, it looks great. Nothing stopping you from doing something else in brass, any plans. Cheers Peter,
  17. Hi Flood, Looks like you had a good exhibition, the latest pics look good. I posted a question on the old forum about Scotrail livered BGs, I thought as you know a bit about Scottish coaching stock you may be able to help. Did they ever get used on other services apart from the push- pulls? Cheers Peter,
  18. Hi Rick, They look great, love the headboard. I am pretty sure my brother (yellowvanman) will be out on the line today. I was over there in Feb for my brothers 40th and managed to get a ride to Lymington and back, we went out a couple of times to take pics, only saw the blue grey one though. Hope you don't mind but here is a pic. Cheers Peter,
  19. Hi Dave, Sorry to hear that, though I do quite like the winner, it shouldn't have beaten Wallace and Gromit though demand a recount. Cheers Peter,
  20. Hi Dave, Cracking!! scarecrow. I showed the wife and daughter, both think its cool and want to know did you win. Side on shots look great, really like the 37, though not as good as Wallace & Gromit. Cheers Peter,
  21. More great pics Larry, I like the first one, looks like plenty going on. Do you have any taken from that bridge in the 1986- 87 time frame. The sand train sounds interesting, did it always run with those HKV hoppers? It could be a good train to model. Cheers Peter,
  22. Hi Jon, I have had a look through some books and some of my slides, I think early on in the 90s there were more ex NSE coaches about mixed in with the regi rail coaches but later on there were more painted in the regi rail colours. One pic taken on the coal sector day in 91 shows a rake with a few blue grey mk2 coaches mixed in. you can always add a few mk1 too. Cheers Peter,
  23. Hi Mark, The brickwork looks good, a nice colour too. my platform brickwork was done a while ago and could do with a touch up. Cheers Peter,
  24. I would hate to think how many photo spots have been ruined by high fences and overgrowing trees. Cheers Peter,
  25. Hi Jon, Forgot about the no name bit, d'oh My last visit to North Wales was shortly before moving to Oz in 95 I managed to get a few pics of 37/4s on passsenger and a regi rail class 31 working to Bangor most of the stock was mk2s and mk1s in regi rail liv though I think there were some ex NSE coaches with the red line painted out, have you thought of doing that? I think it was the early 90s when they did a coal sector day between Crewe and Llandudno you could have pairs of 56s 37s 20s and I think they had a 60 running, all pulling your stock, no need to worry about vans for a test train then. Cheers Peter,
