  1. Hi Neil, Just been catching up on your thread, I like the overall shot of the layout, and 693 looks pretty good I left mine ex works as it would have been in my time period though I have been tempted to dirty it up. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Dave, Glad to hear that WW will be back and with a bigger fiddleyard too, Nice. Looking forwards to seeing WW back up and with more stock. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Pete, Not alot has been done to be honest, The plan was always to get it up and running, then leave it so I could get on with finishing the station area, as I need to build an overall roof and a loco shed I have been putting it off for years and I really need to pull my finger out and get it done. The plan is to finish the backscenes and terrrace houses then try and crack on with the loco shed. The new bit does seem to work well and has added alot more opreational fun to the layout. The pics show a class 33 passing on the main while an 08 is seen in one of the three carriage sidings the sidings next to that supposedly lead to the offscene yard and act as a headshunt for the three sidings. The brake van is sitting in a general use siding where as the other two will be an oil terminal. Not sure why the pics don't come up in order but I am sure you get the idea. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Pete, Scott has it right, The top pic is taken from the back of the layout which has a blue painted backscene, which I have been working on, hopefully some warehouses will appear soon. I am thinking of making up a removable backscenes to put along the front for when I take pictures but that is a while of as I need to get on with other projects. Hope that clears it up for you, Cheers Peter.
  5. After D200 ran round it's train I went up to the road bridge to get the train coming out. While I was waiting 45150 arrived on a Trans-Pennine service, 45141 came off shed to work the train forwards, shortly after D200 departed to Penmaenmawr. Later in the day the Crewe- Amlwch MOD was worked by a pair of 20s. 20023 and 20154. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Doug, It's cooler all right it's rained here all day. I should be getting on with some modelling but I felt like running some trains this week. I am at Sandown on Sunday at the moment but I have double booked myself so I am trying to get out of doing it. I spoke to Brain and he is going to try and find someone to fill my spot. If that happens I might make it up on Saturday. Monday is a no go, it's Leanne's birthday. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Pete, some more to come plus some EE type 2s. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Lee, I think I would rather be looking at the real 40135 than playing trains. Anyway here is the old girl on Ballast. Cheers Peter.
  9. That's a shame though a least you can run trains until you fix it. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Mate, Did you sort out the short on your layout? Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Mark, I think you're right I have a few VDAs OBAs etc it's a shame to leave them packed under the layout. Cheers Peter.
  12. Thanks Lee, Gen is the old girl is booked on a ballast tomorrow. Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Leon, Thanks, the old railfreight red does look good doesn't it. I should run the MOD train more often, it's good to give the VDA etc a bit of a run. Cheers Peter.
  14. I was having a rest from doing the terrace houses this week and decided to give the layout a bit of a vac to remove the cobwebs, while I was at it I cleaned to track. Since then I have been playing trains. D200/40122 is having a rest from railtour duties as is seen on the return Crewe - Amlwch MOD service. The train is booked to run round at Llanbourne and on this occasion is picking up a VAA from the yard. I know Amlwch is'nt an MOD terminal but until someone does a kit or rtr TTA Chlorine tanks I will run my MOD train. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Rick, A friend of mine had a Gaugemaster track cleaner and it give him a few problems if I remember correctly. If you haven't fixed it by the weekend let me know, I could come up and have a look. I am no expert but might think of something you haven't. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Glenn, Always good to see an update, the latest locos look great I do like that class 26. The stock looks great too it has that wintery look about it. The frost on the sleepers made me feel cold just looking at it. I brought back memories of slipping around Easleigh yard as a shunter back in the day. I think the baby powder option looks a bit better for the frost effect though I do like the geoscenics snow it has that fluff like the real stuff. Cheers Peter.
  17. Well you have way to many 37s on here. I can post up some nice class 33s if you like. Here's another class 37 hopefully it will keep the EE fans happy. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Damian, It was the brown on the front of the bogies that I was talking about, though the more pics I look at the more I notice the oil. As you say it all very subjective, plus I think different people see colour differently. To my eyes I think the bogies look a touch Humbrol Matt Leather and need to be a little more Humbrol Matt Khaki. I will shut up now and leave you with a nice class 50 and a Peak. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Damian, Pipework looks spot on, It might be computer screen but maybe a little more brown/black on the bogies. Cheers Peter.
  20. Hi Rick, It's a litle cooler today, have you had any luck? maybe it was just the heat. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Mate, What are you doing outside anyway get inside and have a beer. I am. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Manfred, Yes they have been part finished for quite a while, I am sure Frank will be pleased. He normally makes a coment when he comes down. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Lee, Thanks for that, there is still a bit to do on them but they coming along quite well, it's just finding the time. I had a look at CKs Terraced cottage thread and I am going to try and do the 45deg angles like he has, they look alot better. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks McC, I am not happy with the angles at the top so might change them but other wise they do look pretty good. Cheers Peter,
