  1. Hi Alex, I am still following your progress, the overhead cranes look superb. I think the Transit may be a bit out of period but the Bedford vans were still about mid 80s I have a couple on Llanbourne. You might be interested to know Hattons have a BR yellow Landrover in stock, they are by Oxford. I ordered one the other day. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Jeff, Lol Hopfully the weather is ok when I come over Sept Oct. My backscens are MDF as are the last two boards on the extension, as you say way cheaper. Llanbourne will probably never be 1000% finished, but finished enough so that I can start an exhibition layout. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Rick, It's funny you mention the marine names for wagons, we still used those names over the TOPS code when I was on the railway on the 90s. The temp in the garage the last few weeks hasn't been to bad, when I go out there in the evening it's normally about 10 but I put the heater on and it takes the chill off. Hopefully in the next week I will have something finished. If Jeff or any other RMwebbers do come over to Oz we could sure show a few layouts. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Jeff, No worries re the viaducts. I just posted on your thread about the weather, it's really not that bad most days get to about 14/15 and there has been a bit of rain but some sunny spells too. The Olympics coverage on TV is pretty average it's better listening on the radio out in the garage. I was going to go out there tonight but my daughter wanted me to watch a DVD "A few best men" piss funny if you haven't seen it. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Jeff, I must admit if I could start again I would have a crack at building some points. I have been planning a small layout for when Llanbourne is finished so will give it a go then. I am sure you will be able to fit in the pointwork you want and it will make for better running. Oh yes backscenes, don't leave till last like I did. lol A 9F and a Crab or 3MT would look great, and I don't mind Green diesels either, they don't have to be blue. If I had the money I would probably run Llabourne in a late 60s period too, I have always liked the Standards my first ever tender loco was a Mainline Standard 4, I still have it. I was introduced to the delights of the S&D back when I was about 14. A member of my local railway club let me operate his S&D based layout which allowed for double heading. I remember getting a slight telling off when the owner came back to his layout to find me double heading the Pines Express with two 9Fs. Though the best bit was seeing my loco getting plenty of use. You will be pleased to know the weather here is quite cool only 14 today, with showers. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Jamie, Not much to report at the moment, I have a few things on the go but haven't done anything to the layout for a while. I should get out there and blow the cobwebs off and have a running session. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Jeff, The viaducts look superb, can't wait to see then in position. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Mark, Thanks, the class 31s did get a bit dirty, you can't beat a Ped on a short rake of MK1s. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Mate, I am quite happy with the sheep. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Craig, Chances are then that you got pics of the only workings they did apart from railtours. Cheers Peter.
  11. Not much happening on the layout at the moment but I have a few things on the go on the workbench. More details can be found in my workbench thread, which I have started partly for my reference as I tend to forget how I did things. Cheers Peter.
  12. That would have been great Larry though I bet you wouldn't get away with it these days what with OH&S. Cheers Peter.
  13. Rather you than me, though I could have been tempted for a shot like that. Shame most of the semaphores have gone. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Dave, Nice to see an update, The new works look great. Changing plat 11 12 & 13 will add some more play value plus help you run your timetable. Changing the North side sounds good too.Just a thought, could you leave the siding in it's a good spot to park a loco. From memory there was a siding on the other side. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Guys, Nice pics Craig, I had the pair 008 and 015 on a railtour to Penzance though 008 didn't make it all the way. I wonder did they work any DCWA type duties ballast or engineers trains once repainted. I do remember seeing them coming out of Eastleigh on ECS when I was walking down from the yard, just wish I was close enough for a pic. Cheers Peter.
  16. 31403 and 37284 are almost ready for some weathering. The sheep on the side of the 37 have come out quite well. I have started working on my class 150. It needs back dateing just a bit and so far I have made up the boxes that sit on the drivers side under the cab. I also need to work out how to build up the cowling around the bottom of the cab that seems to have been removed fairly early on. Cheers Peter.
  17. Great pics guys, Love the Peak at Penmaenmawr, I noticed the Whales too, they seem quite common on ballast trains along the coast. I have a part built Cambrian one but need to get a few more. I am suprised how high that bracket signal is too, it doesn't look so high from ground level but from the top, wow. I bet it used to move a bit on a windy day. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Larry, Always good to see your pictures, shame class 24s didn't last a bit longer, one on Llanbourne would look nice. Nice selection of vans too, mostly GUVs and BGs by the mid 80s though. Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks for the DMU gen Jim & Jeff. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Mate, I only had 45111 once, Leeds- York 1986. Had to do a model of it, one of the last Peaks with cast nameplates. Cheers Peter.
  21. First up a couple of wagon pics. If you fancy a bit of a Peak bash how about this. 45111 is about to depart to Holyhead having replaced the class 33 that had brought the train in. . Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Jim, Thanks for that, I had me fooled but a closer look shows oval buffers and the guards compartment windows look different. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Jim, The only mistake I found was one of my pictures captioned with my brothers name but thats no biggy it just means he ows me a beer. Which pic is it Jim? I had a quick look through the book, is it the ten car lash up? It's funny when I was out taking pics I pretty much ignored DMUs it's only since I have modelled some that I really found out the differences between then and what classes they were, though I am still no expert. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks Mark, It has been a while, but I have been getting a bit done. Not much tonight thugh, too cold out there at the momet. Ceers Peter.
  25. Thanks Alex, Always good to hear from you, yes I do like my Peaks, 45111 is getting pretty old now but still looks ok. If you liked John's last book then you will like this one, plenty of Peaks. Cheers Peter.
