    Thanks Kev. Cheers Peter.
  2. Thanks Larry, The point rodding was a real pain to do but worth it. I think Merf said that Llandudno box did have Tomatoes growing inside somewhere. Just in case you are reading this Beast I still plan to redo the box probably 2013 now. Cheers Peter. Thanks Andy.
  3. Thanks Jamie, I am not the best person to ask re the other controllers as I haven't used them. The NCE does store a lot of Locos (not sure how many) You can alter all the Cvs I just haven't worked that out yet. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Jeff, Once I have a few more locos chipped i will have a running session. I am hoping loco release will be easier, I think it will just be a case of learning how to use the controller. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Rick, Yes understand where you are coming from, I have been thinking about the DCC thing for a while, I can operate Llanbourne quite well without it but I am limited a bit when it comes to shunting, and isolating locos. A decider for me was trying to run a Bachmann class 37 with a Heljan class 33, both have different speeds so hopefully with DCC I can match the speed plus splitting locos will be easier. Sound and lighs are a bonus but I will turn the sound down and dim the lights as much as I can maybe turn them off for daytime running. Hopefully I have made the right move, only time will tell. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Doug, Yes you got me in the end, I am looking forwards to operating Llanbourne on DCC it should improve the shunting and general operation once I get used to the cntroller. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Dave, So far so good with the NCE though it's early days. I will let you know how I go. I am not planning on going sound with everything, just a couple of each will cost enough. I need to buy some basic decoders too, but I have some money saved for this so I won't be to long before there ae a few locos running again. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks again Kevin, I will go and have a play when I get the chance, and let you know how I go. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Rick, The weathering on that class 50 looks superb. Cheers Peter.
  10. No worries Rick, I do like the old warships your locos really look the part. I did notice the shunt signals they certainly add to the realism. You have added a lot of fine detail since I last saw the layout in the flesh, your backscenes bring the whole thing together though, superb. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Kevin, I am sure I will be asking for your help, I have managed to program some locos and wire the Powercab to the layout. As for setting CVs to improve how the sound locos perform I haven't done that yet. I only have a few Bachmann sound locos at the moment, any tips. My Hornby class 31 has an annoying fan noise, can that be turned off? I think I will invest in some base reflex speakers and some reblows. Cheers Peter.

Thanks Kev, I might get myself a few and see how I go, those speakers seem the way to go to get decend sound. The chassis work on the rat looks great I really must have a go at doing one of mine. Is the extra triangle cut from another body? Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Dave, that railway room looks great, it certainly make my garage look pretty sh**e. Looking forwards to see the layout set up. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Rick, A couple of mine from your running day. Thanks again cheers Peter.
  15. Talking of something new my new NCE Powercab arrived last week. Some of you may know I have been thinking about going DCC for some time now, over the last few years I have bought a few sound locos and it's got to the point where I needed to just go for it. After programing a few locos on a test track I decided to wire the powercab into the layout, it didn't take too long but is still temporary. 47613 was given the honours and was tested on all the track withoutany problems. Last night I ran my first DCC train, 37284 with sound worked a Crewe- Bangor service. There will be a major loco shortage until I chip some more locos or work out how to wire in a DPDT switch so I can run some DC locos. Cheers Peter.
  16. Good find Mark, Nice bit of class 20 action, don't they sound great. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Kevin, Hope you had a great holiday, thanks for the info on the class 31 I bought my Powercab from DCC supplies so I will look at getting some of those LEDs. Is the black box on top a base reflex speaker? Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Rick, Thanks for a great afternoon, it was great watching the train go by, the layout is loking superb. I will post up some pics when I get the chance. Cheers Peter.

Hi Kev, Nice work on the class 20, I remember doing a Lima headcode model to disc one, I think it was a Craftsman conversion kit. 20121 still sees use on llanbourne now, paired with another Lima loco. I like your clas 25 too, I might have to give that conversion a go I have a spare Hornby body. Alot of people don't realise there were hinges on one side, the triangle panel is a nice touch not all class 25s had the two from memory. Quick question, the bass reflex speaker, is that about the same size as the one you get in a Bachmann sound loco? I might replace a few of mine. Cheers Peter
  20. Being one of the last in service is probably why it was luck enough to be preserved. Judging by the condition 7076 will need some work on the paint pretty soon, she was smoking well too. Cheers Peter.
  21. The Hymeks had all gone by the time I really got into trains so last month was my first haulage, and for a preserved line there was plenty of thrash. Cheers Peter.
  22. Looking good Rick, I had haulage on a Hymek last month on the ELR. It was an absolute clagging beast, sounded pretty good too. Cheers Peter,
  23. Thanks class 66, I am pleased you like Llanbourne, still plenty to do, so I will keep posting. Cheers Peter.
