  1. Hi, I've follwed the instructions to delete history but it's not working and I can't reply to anything. Help please. My darling wife is letting me use her laptop to ask for help
  2. Hi Dave, Sorry missed your post. The plan with 428 was to have it fairly clean, sort of opposite to the 9F. I have a pic of 37418 somewhere I will dig it out for you. The Scottish ones certainly did get very dirty. Cheers Peter.
  3. Merry Christmas Jeff, Looking forwards to seeing your progress in 2013. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks for the pics Larry, I haven't seen those before, I might have to model the quick run round d propelling move. Cheers Peter.
  5. No worries Alex, I have done 47106 from the 47035 model, the hardest job is to improve the underframe, there are some pics somewhere on the thread on how I did it. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Merf, Thats a great pic, I am not sure what it is about working on the railway, but we always used to have a fire going in a spare Brake van up Eastleigh yard. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Alex, I am quite pleased with it. 47418 started out as bachmanns 47035, you still see them on ebay. One would look nice on boxenby, there were alway a few 47s hanging around Toton. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Jim, Funny thing is I didn't get up to North wales until the late 80s, 40s and Peaks had gone by then. I did get a nice bit of class 31 and 37 haulage though. Cheers Peter.
  9. True, they are nice locos, I will keep an eye out on your thread for the other Canton class 37s. It was always good to them them out working. I did know about the FO cardiff Rhyl train, there are a few pictures of the train on the internet, I plan the do the train at some point it looks like it was normally made up of 3 or 4 MK2s. Cheers Peter.
  10. Hi Merf, Thanks mate that would be great, who knows when I might get around to it but some pic would be great. Still enjoying you flickr pics, I liked the class 56s on fly ash. Cheers Peter.
  11. Yes you are spot on there Larry, I might have a go at replacing it one day, I did think about doing it in brick at the time but went for the easier option. Cheers Peter.
  12. Well you are ten years younger than me Mark. Llanbourne has been without a 37/4 for way too long so I am looking forward to putting it to good use. I am quite tempted to do another actually, but I really have enough locos already. Cheers Peter.
  13. Well I have been busy chipping a few locos, 33026 was done today and was tested on the layout. Other locos now chipped are 08472 25904 47418 47535. I have also finished 37428 which started out as 37417, it's basically a rename and number job, but I have raised the bogie sides added speedo and bufferbeam pipework. I have also opened up a few windows and added a crew, plus WR style lamp brackets at one end. Putting the body back on was a real pain and now the lights don't work, so I think I have brocken a wire. Also just of the workbench is a Hornby 9f I have had sat in a box for ages. I have given the loco a quick coat of grime and added some coal in the tender, it's off to ebay to fund more decoders, but thought it was worth a few pics. I have numbered it 92224 one of the WR ones that worked on the S&D it ended up on the Midland later on and worked over the S&C. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Andrew, I remember seeing a pic of a 33/1 on a single NSE MK2. I think it was on the Southampton to Salisbury line, but I am not sure of the service. Cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Dave, It's good to see the layout almost up and running again. Look forwards to seeing 418 when it's done. My 37417 is now 37428 a Canton based beast. It should be finished this week. Cheers Peter.
  16. Thanks Keith and Jeff. I do plan to get a few more sound chipped locos but there are other things I need too. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Jeff, I haven't posted for a while but have been following your progress. I can see a problem with your fiddleyard, It's not going to be big enough for all the locos and trains you are going to want to run.lol Looks great by the way. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Alex, You better start a thread for the boys layout, it looks good. Looks like he has picked up a few skills from the old man. Cheers Peter.
  19. I saw 73101 a few times, thought it looked pretty good. Never saw it the Pullmans though. Cheers Peter.
  20. Well why not they painted them in almost every other livery back in the day. It would be an interesting paint job for a model. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Jim, Likewise, I quite liked the Jaffa cake liv, a loco would have looked ok I think. Cheers Peter.
  22. Thanks Mark, I have ordered some decoders this week so hopefully it won't be long before I have a few more locos running. Cheers Peter.
  23. Sounds like a fun evening Larry, I still need to make an overall roof for Llanbourne. I must admit I wasn't a fan of the NSE liv when it first came out, but it grew on me. Which was probably a good thing as I lived in NSE territory. Cheers Peter.
