  1. Hi Lee, Thanks Mate I will check that out. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Kevin, Love the lights in the Lorry, they must be some seriously small LEDs. I forgot to PM you Sorry, I 'll do it now. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Jeff, Only ten pages late but that video of the 9f passing over the viaduct is great. Looks like it wont be long before we can see trains passing. Not much modelling going on here as we are still getting days of 30+ and its our Autumn now. Cheers Peter.
  4. Hi Alex, The depot building is looking very nice, as are those class 60s. I bet it feels good working on some stock again. Cheers Peter.
  5. Ok chaps, I need some help here please. I have removed one of my old code 100 cross overs due to my class 08s stalling on it. I have made sure the wheels were clean and even added extra pick ups still with no joy. So I thought I would replace the insulfrog cross over with SL-E193 which is an electrofrog code 75 job. despite it being a code 75 I have raised it up a bit and stock runs through ok. I problem is how do I wire this in? Here is a pic to help. Cheers Peter.
  6. Thanks Jeff, I must have missed that, I check your thread quite regularly but it does move along pretty fast. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Dave, 47546 is a good choice, I repainted a Lima one a few years back but did mine with black headcode boxes which were added at some point. Something you might like to know is this loco has a round plated over boiler port which you can get on some models it just depends what loco you are plannig to use. My model hasn'y run for a few years, I managed to loose one of the nameplates. Cheers Peter.
  8. No worries Cav, Don't blame you for looking out for the bargins, I hate paying full price myself, although if I can save myself a repaint I will. I am sure you will find another cheap class 47 so I am sure a banger blue one will appear on Millers Dale at some point. Cheers Pete.
  9. Well Cav I would have said keep it blue if that model was hard to get, but having looked at Hattons and seeing they have 10 in stock why not repaint it. Though I did notice 403 is 83 quid, 47612 in inter city liv is cheaper at 75 Quid. Now I don't know what you paid for your 403 but what about keeping 403 blue, if you want a 47/4 Generator then 417 and 418 had the same round boiler port and tanks. All you would need to do is repaint the yellow ends and remove the nameplate. You could get 477612 and repaint it into large logo. This loco has headlight and square boiler port plus different tanks, you have to remove the arials on the cab roof though. Cheers Peter.
  10. saw your post in the large logo 47 thread so I am guessing thats your plan. Are you going to do a few banger blue ones as well? Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Cav, Let us know when you start on the class 47, it will be interesting to see how you go. I am thinking a few other class 47s will be on the list. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Mark, Sounds like you had a good exhibition, the layout and pics look great. The class 67 on sleepers looks very nice reminded me of the train I saw when over last year. The blue 37/3 looks nice too, complete with Motherwell salmon. Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Dan, Great to see a bit of progress on the layout, top stuff. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Cav, Sorry to see you had to sell Outon Road it was a great layout, I am glad I got to see it in the flesh at Barrow Hill. I am looking forwards to seeing this layout progress the plan looks good, nice sweeping curves and the time period is right up my street a nice Peak on a rake of MK1 s will look the part storming through the station. There are some very nice N gauge and 2mm finescale layouts on RMweb so you will get plenty of feedback, plus the rolling stock these days is so good. Good luck with this one, cheers Peter.
  15. Hi Kevin, Will definitely try and catch up with the gang next time I am over. The Legomanbiffo chip is a v4 so should be ok for the sugar cube speakers as far as I know. Do you think they would fit in the fuel tanks as there is all room under the roof? I think your Tamper would sound great with all the sirens etc, something a bit different is always good. Thanks for the offer on the speakers mate I will send you a PM. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Lee, Haven't seen you on here for a while, sorry to hear about your layout, but good to see you are doing another one. I will have to check out your blog. Glad to see you are sticking with the North Wales theme. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Alex, I have seen your weathering it looks pretty good to me, happy to help though. I am sure you will be weathering within ten years though. My ploughed up class 20s are actually modelled on two that I saw while up Barnetby way in 92 when I was chasing the few remaining workings that the 20s had. My friend John Dedman has an article on the trip in Traction. At this time there were a few 20s with ploughs and I am sure I saw pics of them at Toton. A nice railfreight one with ploughs would look nice. I am planning to come over in 2014 so might have to try and catch up, hopefully with more luck than last time. Cheers Peter.
  18. LOL, Well the smoke is still in mine but it did hit the overbridge and come of the track, so lesson learnt. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Jeff, Spot on mate, I got hold of a Hornby class 31 with dodgy chassis and stripped out the bogies motor and power board. I have basically copied what James did with his. I am not sure how to do a link but it's in the detailing scratchbuilding section. I have had a Lima class 31 that I have been wanting to re chassis for ages. I might be able to get the lights working too as when I did the loco years ago I fitted some LEDs. Cheers Peter.
  20. We have had a couple of cooler days here and I managed to wire up my class 31 chassis and give it a spin. Also sat in the station were 20169 and 20121 on a spoil train made up of ZHVs. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Kevin, Wouldn't a Transporter device be nice, I would be over in a shot. I caught up with a few of the NFMRS boys when I was over last year though, even went to Fareham exhibition with Mossbank, Westcliffe and Hollybank and helped out for a day. It was good to see Mossbank up and running all those years after I helped build it. I am actually planning to come over for two weeks in May 2014, but early days yet so still no firm dates. Though I will try and make it to the New Forest exhibition or the Swanage diesel gala. I am going ok with the DCC, I have changed CVs on a few decoders but not had a play around with my sound locos yet. I have a legomanbiffo sound chip for a class 33 but the speaker is not giving good sound so I will get another one and have another go. Your track machine looks great I didn't know anyone did sounds for these, it's good to see those sugar speakers I am thinking of geting a couple of them for my 08 when I sound chip that. Cheers Peter.
  22. Hi Kevin, Glad the show went well, hope all goes well at Brockenhurst. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Dave, 37418 looks great, the first class sticker on the headcode is a nice touch. I had problems with my 37428, the lights now work but only when the loco is moving but go off when you speed up. Nice Peak too, looks good on those not so silver bullets. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks Jeff, Great to catch up with you on saturday, I still have a lot to work out. Nothing happening today as its a bit warm. Cheers Peter.
