  1. 97406 is finally off the workbench and has worked it's first train. It runs really well which is more than can be said for my green one. 25059 has also been finished and had the same treatment as 25244 both models now run really well and dispite being old models look really quite good. 25059 has had some nice Heljan ploughs fitted which look better than the old Bachmann ones that were fitted on the old chassis. Cheers Peter.
  2. I have finally finished 97406 and 25059. Here are some pics of the loco's on Llanbourne.I have tried to capture the look of 97406 as she was in her last year of service, with missing horn grilles and missing sandbox filler cap. The loco also had some writting under the cab which I have tried to copy along with the general worn out look of the loco. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Jack, The Peak is at Eastleigh. They used to work the Severn Tunnel to Eastleigh Speedlink for a while. Cheers Peter.
  4. I finished off 25059 tonight, it's had the same treatment as 244. Once again this was an old model done about 17 years ago, It was running with two power bogies but since going DCC it had been out of use. 25059 seems a popular with modellers as I have seem a few others over the years Kevpeo's Bachmann loco is a real beast. 25059 was one of the last class 25s in traffic and was withdrawn at Buxton, but was reinstated to haul a couple of locos back to Crewe making it the last class 25 with early body style to be in service. Work on my 97406 is going well, the chassis is weathered and the body is almost done though I did almost forget to fill in the boiler port on the roof. I will try and get some pics after the weekend. Cheers Peter.
  5. Thanks Lee, I knew about the middle bit I think it's a bracket to hold the tanks on. Anyway I had noticed it in pictures but the end brackets were a new one on me. Ken sent some pics which were a great help plus I found a pic that a friend had taken a few years back and sent me. Cheers Peter.
  6. I always liked the Peaks and went out for them when I could. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Scott, Haven't seen you on here much recently but then I don't get as much time as I used to. Hope you are wel,l just noticed your new thread, so will have to check it out. Cheers Peter. PS I am over next month so will have to try and catch up.
  8. Hi Arnie, I am missing the blue stuff though that 33029 is a beast, it's been dowm to Eastleigh a fair bit recently. I saw a video clip the other day of it shunting at Totton yard. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Ken, I think the width is ok but it looks a bit to deep to me, having compared it with pics of the real thing. I would like to know for sure though, anyone want to measure a real one. 40145 is alive and well. Cheers Peter.
  10. Thanks Ken, The pics you sent me were very helpful, I did some searching through Flickr to find other pics of 40135/ 97406, which helped as well. Cheers Peter.
  11. I have finished working on the underframe of 97406, it's come up quite well. just needs weathering now. Cheers Peter.
  12. I was just having a look at the centre headcode loco on the Rails of Sheffield website and I am not sure the headcode box looks right. It's hard to tell from just looking at the pictures but it looks a bit big. Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Lee, I have used some jumpers from an old Craftsman class 40 detail kit. They are not that much smaller to be honest and I think if you filed down the top rounded section on the Bachmann ones and file back the raised pad on the bogie that they sit on it would look a lot better. Cheers Peter.
  14. I bet you do but then you would want to be fairly busy as it's your job. lol Cheers Peter.
  15. Superb work on those TEAs James, It's one wagon I would love to have on Llanbourne but just don't have the room. I remember seeing them working out of Eastleigh back in the day, and remember when the Green livery first started to appear. Cheers Peter.
  16. Nice line up Rick, why remove the Nameplates on 112, I remember seeing it like that back in the day, it looked pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  17. Thanks Lee, Slow progress at the moment, I don't seem to be getting much done, I have to many things on the go at one time. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Rick, Used to see class 33s everyday though never saw them when they were green. 33111 is my favourite Pusher so look forwards to seeing that on Penhayle Bay. I have a 33/1 on the workbench at the moment that will become 33111. I will be back in the UK in May so hope to get some haulage again on 111 down at Swanage. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Rick, Your new Crompton does look good, I like those SR vans too very nice. Cheers Peter.
  20. Bit of an update, I have been slowly working on my Bachmann class 40 and since I last posted an older Bachmann one has arrived and I will use the chassis to go under my Lima D200. The Bachmann body has had the number removed and the rad fan side grilles refitted so they look a bit more flush with the body. 25244 is now finished and running on part of a Bachmann chassis. The workbench is pretty full at the moment as I have a class 128 in bits and another class 25. Cheers Peter.
  21. Hi Dave, The class 40 looks great, I like the class 26 too is that a new one. Cheers Peter.
  22. I think F units are a Yank thing. These A class were built as B's then re built here in Oz. Cheers Peter.
  23. I have been a bit quite myself, I am getting stuff done on the workbench though. Cheers Peter.
  24. Thanks Mate, I think of it as more a rounded off class 37. Cheers Peter.
  25. Hi Rick, Hope you are all well. It was a shame when the A were taken off the Stony Point line, I am glad I took some pics of the As on the line before they were taken off. I don't think any of the V/Line A's are getting much use these days. Even the freight A's seem to be on borrowed time. Cheers Peter.
