  1. Thanks Alan, I did a bit by the station and was quite pleased with how it looked so thought I would do it again. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Jinty, Out of use siding is the plan. Sometimes the point would be removed but in a yard removing the blade and clipping the other one would be ok. Cheers Peter.
  3. Thanks Guys, Hi Craig, So far I have only made the mock up, over the mainline a stone bridge and over the yard a girder bridge. The pic should explain it. Cheers Peter.
  4. Ballasting almost done. dummy ground signal and relay cabinets in position. I need to make up a few signals now and start weathering. Cheers Peter.
  5. Pretty sure they went as far as Plymouth, They were booked power on the Brighton- Penzance. Even Penzance on a railtour. Cheers Peter.
  6. No worries Simon, Sorry to give you more work. You should still get away with only having to respray the top half. Cheers Peter.
  7. Hi Simon, 47487 was the first class 47 painted into Inter City livery and the yellow comes over the doors. Black headcode boxes too. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Ian, Damian has used Cambrian bogies which as he said are close but not quite the right ones. I only have one so might get the correct ones which my friend tells me are Gloucester fast freight bogies, Whitemetal kit available by AME. Cheers Peter.
  9. Love the shot of the Dutch Tractor on the tanks. What a Beast. Cheers Peter.
  10. Looks god Rob. The puddles are a nice touch, might have to try them one day. Cheers Peter.
  11. Hi Ian, You are still making good progress, it looking good. I have a UKF wagon somewhere I will have to remove the Procor signage, I will need to replace the bogies some day are they still available? Also looks like some wagons are brown on the ends. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Dave, Just been catching up on your thread, superb layout and a great eye for detail. I will be following from now on. Cheers Peter.
  13. Looking good Alex, once the pit roads are done whats next. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Terry, Point bits were made from plasticard. Beast 66606 posted up some pics of the clap lock point motors and bits I just copied them. I am not sure where the pics are though, maybe on this thread somewhere. I will have a look. Cheers Peter.
  15. I was asked how I do my ballasting so I took a few pics tonight. It's the normal watered down PVA with a drop of washing up liquid method. I spread out the ballast dry and get it looking how I want it using my finger and a small brush. I use a small piece of wood to flatten the ballast shoulders down a bit, working on a section at a time. Once it looks right I give the ballast a spray with water with a drop of washing up liquid, I then use a dropper to add the watered down PVA. I have also added some detail by the point leading off the mainline. I still need to work out where to place the signals for the yard so any thoughts would be great. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Terry, Great to see you got your class 33s running better with their new wheels. Re your other one a friend of mine had trouble with the wiring on a green one he had. The wire from the motor coming up to the centre plug was getting pinched by the PCB and the rubber bit that holds it in place. Good luck with the kit. Cheers Peter.
  17. Layout is looking great Andi, thanks too Shane for putting up the video. Cheers Peter.
  18. Thanks HeavyDuty, I will keep the pics coming. I might see if I can live without the buffers depending on price. It's something I can add later. Cheers Peter.
  19. Thanks Ken, I will look into those buffers, 97407 is great I am really happy with how it runs now, it's my favourite loco at the moment. Currently sat on a ballast in Llanbourne station. Cheers Peter.
  20. Thanks Lee, I have just come in from the garage and have found a problem which I have just been sorting out. One of the my Kadee's came off and when I gave the others a bit of a poke they fell of too. It's the crappy Plastic used for that part of the wagon as the chassis is ok. I have used some plasticard stuck to the chassis which should hold, the fixed end is no problem but the end I have left with a bit of play has had a section removed to allow the Kadee to sit glued on the chassis and still allow some movement for the the other bit. Hard to explain so I will post a pic. The buffers are a bit puny, not sure of the correct ones to buy but I was going to have a look in my bits box. 12 packs of buffers might start to get a bit expensive. Cheers Peter.
  21. As 56070 is getting to the weathering stage I thought I should have a look at sorting the train it will be pulling on Llanbourne. They are 12 x Railroad MGRs I know they have their faults but they look pretty good to me and they were a good price. Being railroad models the wheels are crap so they will be replaced with Steam Era Models 14mm wheels. This makes the wagon sit a bit high so I have removed some plastic on the chassis while at it I fixed the wheel set at one end and reduced the play at the other to stop the wobble. Hornby couplers are being replaced with Kadee's. Cheers Peter.
  22. Here we go, this should give you an idea how it all works. Not the best set up but I do like my garage. They seem to have come out in reverse order, the first pic shows the fiddleyard boards with covers on. It stops some dust and dead bugs from falling onto the stock. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hi Jinty, This is an extension I started on a few years ago. I hadn't done any more as I wanted to make sure it all ran well and didn't need ripping up to make changes. I will take an overall pic tomorrow as I haven't done that. Cheers Peter.
  24. Hi Alex, Pits are looking great and don't worry I think we all wonder why we go to so much trouble some days. Cheers Peter.
