Thanks Phill, It's a better job than the station area, I might have to re do some of that at some point. Some of track in the station area is well over 25 years old now.
Cheers Peter.
Hi David,
I bought a few and have them fitted to 3 locos so far. They seem ok though they haven't had a lot of use really as Llanbourne hasn't been run for a while.
Cheers Peter.
Some progress with weathering up the ballast, I have also wired in an Eckon ground signal, and managed to wire it without melting it.
45036 is poking out of the tunnel. It's been in store for over a year but is now running with a hard wired Hattons decoder.
Cheers Peter.
Just been catching up on the thread Jason,
Congrats on getting married and on the article in BRM. I really like the latest shots, the 4f is my favourite.
I like the black and white, but a few colour ones would be nice.
Cheers Peter.
Hi Phill,
I would like to get a Heljan body myself as I still have a Nigel Stanley class 27 kit to do, and it looks like getting the old Lima class 33 body to look right will take a heap of work, Sean's class 27 looks superb.
Cheers Peter.
Thanks Lee,
I do like my class 40s, 40012 is a real favourite at the moment, now that it has a Bachmann chassis it's running is superb.
I didn't get anything done over the weekend so hopefully I will get some more done during the week.
Cheers Peter.
Hi Phill,
Just found your new thread. Great to see pics of the layout again and that rake of MK2s looks superb.
Have you made any progress on the station in the garage?
Cheers Peter.
Some progress with the HAAs. Colin Craig brake discs, one on each axle, chassis weathered and wagons put back together. Just need renumbering and hopper weathered.
Cheers Peter.
Thanks Kevin,
I really like the yard pic. Something I would like to get are the acid tanks that always seem to be in pics of Llandudno Jct yard.
My 56070 is still in bits waiting to be weathered but I have made progress with my MGR wagons.
Cheers Peter.
Thanks mark,
No! Don't like P2s. lol
Only joking bring it along if you want though I would say the long wheel base might mean it doesn't like my tight curve in the tunnel.
Cheers Peter.
Hi Craig,
The Rudds are Grampus. Both wagons look very alike though, and the Rudds a much later build and are Air braked. The two in shot are just weathered Dapol models which I think look pretty good others in the rake are Cambrian kits which are a I think a bit better than the Dapol wagon and go together really well.
A couple of pics of the Cambrian kit.
Cheers Peter.
I have added some ash from the fire to make up some walkways between the sidings and painted a small section to see what it looks like.
I have given the ballasted area a vac to suck up any loose bits and show up where I have missed with the PVA and while at it I cleaned the track and made sure things were still running.
I thought a couple of ballast trains might look good.
Cheers Peter.
Hi Rick,
Enjoy your last few weeks, the weather here is still very changeable.
I must admit I really quite like the class 70s and saw a few Colas locos at Eastleigh earlier this year.
Cheers Peter.
Hi Rick,
Welcome back, Hope you had a good trip. I did quite well with vintage traction on my trip back in May but no class 20s.
I have a meeting here in November, you are welcome to come along. 22nd.
Cheers Peter.
