  1. Thanks Rob, 37284 would look at home on your new layout too, being a Canton Machine. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Alex, Hope you are well, Haven't seen you on here for a while. I was asked about some vids the other day, I will try and sort something out over Christmas when I get the time to try and work out how to do them. I have done a couple before but didn't have any luck down loading them. Cheers Peter.
  3. Hi Dave, The blue flap is just a piece of plastic bag that I cut out, the newspapers are by Dart Castings L116 I ordered some more the other day. www.dartcastings.com great little website lots of detail bits and pieces. Cheers Peter.
  4. Thanks Big T, I wouldn't mind a dollar for the hours I spent sat in a Brute sheltering from the wind at Bristol TM back in the day. I even left my camera in one which got handed into the lost property while I was off bashing a Peak. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Rob, Nice set of pics, I really need to do the chassis on my two class 25s, it's a real improvement on the Bachmann one. Cheers Peter.
  6. A couple of pics from the other day. It would seem Cardiff Cantons 37284 has escaped from the Welsh valleys, It probably made it's way to Crewe and rather than being sent back it has been borrowed to work a short parcels train. 284 has Biffo's latest sound and has plenty of thrash. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Jeff, Where do you normally buy your speakers from? I have just been out in the garage playing with the class 37 and 25. I love the Sulzer sound in the class 25, it really does thrash when you give it some welly. Cheers Peter.
  8. Thanks Neil, I will get a few, and see how I go. Cheers Peter.
  9. Thanks Heaps for that Dave, I am quite happy to remove the fan assembly too. Though if I can fit them in above the speaker that would be good. I had a look at my Bachmann class 40 the other night, and there isn't much room between the circuit board and roof. I think there is probably more room in the older model. I will order some speakers anyway and have a play. Cheers Peter.
  10. That's the one Alex. I am not sure I like the white painted exrtas on 012. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Alex, I have seen that clip before but some time ago, I don't remember it being that long. It's a great video and the 40 sounds great. There is another video somewhere with 012 and 135 at Chester both working ballast. Cheers Peter.
  12. Hi Ian, I have been following your progress for a while but this is my first post on your thread. Just thought I would say what a great layout with superb detail. I was never a fan of N gauge until i saw Acton Mainline back in the day. The detail on the layout and stock was excellent. It actually made me think about putting more detail on my 00 stock. I haven't seen Banbury in the flesh but the pictures on here show the great detail on the layout. Keep up the good work, Cheers Peter.
  13. Hi Rob, The latest pics looks superb, it seems the layout has really come together in the last few weeks. I remember seeing your car flats too some time ago, nice to see them finished they look really good. Cheers Peter.
  14. 10 out of 10 Alan, Nice pics too, really like the clas 85 and 86 in the snow. I am thinking of trying to get that frosty look about the layout with some snow laying here and there. Cheers Peter.
  15. I have seriously thought about it Jeff believe me. The only thing stopping me is that I like my Semaphores too much. Cheers Peter.
  16. Hi Jeff, You would pretty much have most other loco classes so why not. You could always run it on my exhibition layout when I get round to building it. Cheers Peter.
  17. Hi Dave, It is a great model, It will be a while before I weather it up though as few other locos are on the to do list. I just thought while I had the money and they were still in stock I would get one. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi Phill, Enjoyed the vid of 7076 I have a short clip of the old girl on my Flickr site somewhere. Cheers Peter.
  19. Hi Dave, Layout is looking superb, even better now you have some trains running. Cheers Peter.
  20. I am generally pretty good with what I buy stock wise, as it has to fit my late 85 to mid 87 North Wales layout. But for the past few years I have bought a few class 26s and a split box class 37. Recently I pick up a cheap Lima class 87, and early this week a loco I have wanted for some time arrived. A Bachmann class 85. When I first started spotting back in the early 80s Dad used to take us on trips and it would normally end up at Euston. Dad liked the electrics and Euston used to be really busy. I have always liked the class 81s and 85s back in the 80s a few class 83s were still being used on ECS. When Bachmann announced the class 85 it was only a matter of time before I bought one. I have posted a few pics which might give you an idea of the future exhibition layout I will get round to building one day. I think you will probably guess the location. Cheers Peter.
  21. Thanks Phill, There is a bit of a sheen on the bogies because thats the oil that seeps through from the gear towers. The body sides are pretty much matt and my usual mix of Humbrol black and brown. Cheers Peter.
  22. No worries Dave, any pics would be great. I pressume you remove the Bachmann speaker/ fan moulding to do this. It would be good to get the best out of the sound chip, even as it is it's pretty good. Cheers Peter.
  23. Thanks Alex, I don't seem to have much luck with doing video, I will have to have another go at some point. Cheers Peter.
  24. Hi Dougie, The BRUTEs are a fold up etch by Shirescenes. I will take a few shots when I get the chance. Cheers Peter.
  25. Thanks Dave, The class 25 isn't really too bad but the class 40 probably needs a bigger speaker, problem is I have removed the tanks so I am not sure where I will be able to fit a speaker. I think I need to get a few base enhanced speakers and have a play to get the best out of them. Cheers Peter.
