  1. Jealous as, I never saw a class 24 back in the day but had a ride on one last year at Swanage, What a Beast. Cheers Peter.
  2. Hi Jinty, Only a few years between us then, I was born in 68. My wifes thinks men don't mature must past the mental age of 17 so i am ok with that. I even have a mug that says 'Still Plays With Trains'. Do you have any pics from back in the day? I still look at my old 110 Instamatic pics. They were pretty crappy pics but still bring back the memories. Cheers Peter.
  3. Bristol was ok Carlisle was a no no, tried to sleep on a Brute in the cold because of drunks in the waiting room. Cheers Peter.
  4. Just a Pup then Terry. You would have better memories of the sector period than BR blue. At least you had more loco's about than what you have now. Cheers Peter.
  5. Hi Jinty, I think you might be older than me mate, I was only 9 in 1977. I do remember seeing Deltic's I had an Auntie and Uncle who lived in North London about 10 minutes walk from the ECML. I remember going down to the park with Dad and waiting to see my first HST. My friends dad used Ilford film he also used to develop his own B&W aswell. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Rich, The pics would have been late 85 early 86 I think, I do remember calling in at York on the way back from Scotland and seeing a single class 20 shunting about down near the South of the station. I remember this quite well because we saw a Peak numbered as a 97 and my slide film was lost in the post, that would have been 1987. Cheers Peter.
  7. Thanks Rick, I saw a few over the years but only a handful if that. One was a Scratch move from Haymarket to Edinbough hauling a failed DMU I have a pic somewhere, typical scottish weather though, peeing down. Cheers Peter.
  8. Hi Rick, I never really noticed AGFA being red-biassed. I was pretty happy to have a half decent back in the day though wise I had bought a better camera instead of buying beer and model trains. I will have to check my AGFA slides they don't seem to have degraded but then I haven't looked that closely at them. Cheers Peter.
  9. Hi Alan, You were probably like me in that you would try and buy what was cheaper. I have to agree re the Fuji the blue green did stand out a bit. I quite liked the Kodachrome 64 but it was really a bit slow, I did get some good results. I still have all my slides even the out of focus and dark ones as you say some of it's well worth keeping. I still have most of my 110 negs and pics. Only went to York a few times you might like this one. Cheers Peter.
  10. We did, I do have some nice pics taken with AGFA but it was pretty grainy. My Fuji slides were a bit hit and miss too. Probably more my fault than the film though. Cheers Peter.
  11. Thanks Mate, I had noticed a few likes. Cheers Peter.
  12. I think that is where some of the problem is alot of my old slides are taken on Agfa 200 asa and come out rather grainy, which make anything far off look out of focus though I do have plenty of them too. Cheers Peter.
  13. Thanks Guys, I did some at your place a few years ago Rick they came out quite well from memory. My friend in the UK who published some of my slides in his books seems to get really good results but I am pretty sure he has a high end machine built for doing negs and slides. I posted up a few on Flickr today and they look ok. Cheers Peter.
  14. Hi Mate, For most of December I was just out there playing, i sort of lost interest a bit to be honest. Leading up to that I was working on the extension a bit and there are still a few loco's in bits under the layout waiting to be finished off. 2x 20 a class 40 a 56 and a 150 Sprinter, wagons in bits at the moment are MGRs for my fly ash train. Since Christmas I have almost finished my Inspection saloon but I have things to do round the house at the moment, just chucked the Christmas tree outside now I need to vac up the needles. So your plans to build up into the roof aren't happening now then? I guess if you move from the room you are in now that will give give Debs some space. The loft will be good for a model railway it's not a bad size from memory. Just take your time building the boards and you should be right. I actually scanned some slides yesterday for the first time in ages the quality is ok on some but anything too for off gets a bit fuzzy. I think using cheap slide film doesn't help plus my scanner has never been that good. All the best, Peter.
  15. Yep been with them for years and EWS etc before that. Yellowvanman on here though he's not on much. I always thought the guys in the panel at Eastleigh were pretty good, even when I was in the groundframe at Eastleigh Depot they were pretty helpful. Cheers Peter.
  16. It's something I will look into this year, I loose too many days out there when it's hot and cold. Though during winter I normally tuff it out with an extra jumper and electric heater. Cheers Peter.
  17. Happy New Year Jeff, That looks good, I have a Nelson to do one day myself. Pleased to see it can be converted to DCC. Cheers Peter.
  18. Hi 30s here until about 2 hours ago a lot cooler now. Only had a few spots of rain though. I did know it was pretty cold over there my Brother posted a pic on on Facebook New Years eve, He was driving down to Fawley with some tanks from East Yard. It's been too hot in the garage today so I have been scanning some negs to post up on Flickr. Keep warm mate. Cheers Peter.
  19. Jealous. Something I need to do myself, I would only need a small one. Happy New Year. Cheers Peter.
  20. Nice pics Rick, that's a very nice model. Cool change is here too, I just walked the dog and watched people running off the beach. I took a pic with my phone so will try and load it, it's was looking very stormy, with some very dark clouds rolling in. I have just checked the weather radar and I think we are in for a bit of rain in the next Half hour. The grass fire was just on the news. Take care Peter.
  21. It's a hot one today too, I had half an hour in the garage this morning painting my inspection saloon but it about 40C out there now. Cheers Peter.
  22. ED on van train rolling through Sway, my old homestead. Cheers Peter.
  23. Hello again, I just posted on your thread. I do like the pic of the triple grey pair very nice. The Vitrains class 37s do look very good. Your shot of the red stripe beast is a bit like the pic Marcus posted in that it's parked in the shade I am sure in some good light it would look pretty good. I am not sure what you could do about the 37/5 I know Cardiff had some. I am not sure you could change the nose ends either as I think the roof would be wrong. Cheers Peter.
