  1. Great news to hear Accrington Stanley have achieved automatic promotion. Now for them to go on and win the division title. Word of warning for the others in League One...the Mother-in-Law is a Stanley Ultra...
  2. Thanks for the confirmation John. I'll keep an eye out for one today.
  3. I believe these are barrier coaches, formed of ex Class 508 vehicles.
  4. Interesting. Are these venturing up the Arun Valley line perchance during the engineering? I have never seen either the 377/6 or 377/7 along that route, but I did hear anecdotal evidence (from a fellow commuter, who mentioned that he travelled on 'one of the new trains with the rubbish seats) that one was used as an emergency last train of the day a couple of years ago.
  5. The pitfalls of getting a French company to produce your passports...
  6. I did wonder if anyone from here was on the tour. Nice to see 313201 putting in an appearance for you all.
  7. At the opposite end of the country, 37518 leads the Branchline Society 'Sussex Salopian' into Horsham earlier today. Whilst nice to see, this tour was intended to be class 33 hauled south of Acton. Clearly the 33 was unavailable, so presumably 518 carried on to the South Coast. 47772 brought up the rear.
  8. Am I right in recalling there was a layout on the circuit called Barchester? EM or P4?
  9. They don't. Ben and Mike should receive them this week. Then they need to be sorted, packaged, any outstanding payments received, before being dispatched. According to the Revolution website, dispatching will be in the order the orders were placed. In other words, no guarantee the seller would even be in possession of the Pendolino by the 28th...assuming someone doesn't BIN in the meantime. The estimated delivery on the listing may be an estimate, but there is no way that is even realistic given the timescales above).
  10. Yes, the layout is still alive, and whilst progress still isn't as great as we would like, there are lots of mini projects on going. Aside from the station building, the catenary for both the main lines and the tram are carrying on. The mainline stuff is Sommerfeldt, whilst the tram line is a mixture of kit and scratch built poles with brass wires - one of our members casts 00 and 0 gauge figures, so has been able to run off some posts. The S-Bahn third-rail will be started soon. Additionally, we have a number of buildings under way, including the church. I believe so. There are a couple of options being thought about for the windows. Will be clearer over the next few weeks.
  11. Work has started on the main station building. This has been in plan form for a while, however we have now managed to get the first mock ups in place. Given the space constraints (and the fact the layout is inspired by, not a fully faithful model of Freidrichstrasse), we were not going to build an exact replica of the building; more a close approximation. That said, the structure was designed, and the first prototype produced in etched card. It is certainly a substantial structure - and is quite weighty for a card building. It certainly fits together well. More work needs to be done around the brickwork etching - which is likely to be made a little finer. We also have our first confirmed show booking for the layout - Rotarail, in April 2019. Just over year to go, but still loads to do.
  12. A couple taken in Xian, China - July 2006. Pre-digital for me - so these are scans... The old city walls provided an excellent vantage point of the approaches to the main station. This loco passed a couple of times - perhaps the station pilot? This was a long train - I seem to recall about 20 carriages in tow.
  13. Caboose at Williams AZ - July 2016 BNSF freight approaches Winslow AZ (where you can stand on the street corner!) - July 2016
  14. Signals on the line to Halong City - Vietnam. May 2011
  15. Plasser & Theurer 08-16/4x4C100-RT Universal levelling, lining and tamping machine DR73937 passes Pulborough - October 2015
  16. Saikyo Line E233 unit at Tokyo Shinjuku station - May 2014
  17. Trem do Corcovado, the Rack Railway climbing to Christ the Redeemer - Rio de Janeiro - January 2018
  18. Something Southern. Next, I suppose, something Western...
  19. Preserved 46100 'Royal Scot' approaches Pulborough with a railtour - October 2017
  20. Agree. It was good to have you and your layout at our club's open day last year. Sorry to hear about your situation, but fingers crossed all turns out well for you and your family in the future.
  21. QR1720 number 1732 on the Kurunda railway - December 2014.
