I'll have a look in the Essery/Jenkinson book tomorrow if I remember.
All the details of number size, etc. is in that.

Ah yes! You completely reminded of this book of which I have a copy! I have found the information I required. What I now require is somewhere to that does the Shed Allocation code and the SC lettering that goes underneath the SAC.

Not mine but a favourite. GWR 66XX 6677 in 1962 still in the GWR Grotesque livery applied to locos at Caerphilly Works.

Question guys, would the LMS Ivatts have had polished steel cylinder end covers or all black in their LMS days?

Specifically No10 or Carless in general?
No.10. I cannot find any information which mentions No.10

Does anyone know the background to the Carless Petrol example? I cannot find anything about a number 10 example in my books

That’s very good of you, thank you. I don’t use Facebook so it’s appreciated.Well anything like this is great to see. We have around 1290 members so it will be getting some good attention hopefully on there :)

I appreciate that it’s not 100% accurate but hopefully it’s a close representation
I’ve only had photos to work from so it’s the best I could do, plus it’s been personalised to suit my layout

Very impressive work. I will post the shapeways link on the GWR Modellers page on Facebook and hopefully get you some extra attention from there

Hi,
Sorry to hear you've had an issue. I have sent you a PM and will happily look into this for you.
Thanks
OliverHello Oliver,
Have you had any update as towards the last batch of Terriers at all?

This is the only Hornby product I've found that matched those images to a certain degree, but there are differences. The window arrangement at the ends are different that usual, others had the windows towards the sides. These are more towards the centre. The difference is the lack of pipes running across the windows and those S shaped pipes being the opposite way around. Excuse my lack of correct terminology. Coaches and anything from the days gone by is not really my thing.
Reminds me of the one half of this pair from Didcot, the GWR D62 Non-Corridor Brake Third Carriage 3755.

Yes. The post 1946 block style for the lettering.
247 Developments do custom plates. But he already has 1202 listed.

Not 1202, but 1209 pictured here.

I've recently purchased a Bachmann LMS/BR 2MT Ivatt with the intention of refurbishing as LMS example 1202. Before I go and start doing the re-livery, I want to confirm two things.
1. Lettering, would the HMRS "LMS block styles & Crewe straw loco and coach insignia" be correct?
2. Smokebox door and plates... does anyone know where if I can get custom made smokebox/workplates door plates at all? I cannot seem to find these for the LMS examples only the BR ones.

Another interesting post-war livery found a few days ago... this time of Kerr Stuart built GWR Pannier 7721 with the Grotesque lettering on her tanks. Certainly makes for something unique...

Until I see one in the flesh, I am holding judgement on these wagons tbh...

5 years on, during this lockdown I'm looking at various projects including upgrading a Bachmann 33-177 Manger's Salt Wagon with the appropriate wooden chassis to replace it's steel one. Can you recall @Mark Saunders the catalogue number of the Parkside Dundas chassis you ordered for your Saxa Salt wagon please?

How about a double header, such as something small piloting a King, or two tanks front to front?
Cheers

Perhaps a 1361 or 1366 and 14xx?

I think I’m right in saying that Tintagal Castle is the closest to both of them in the GWR releases. Not sure if there has also been a BR release in that number range.
If so, a good thing I bought another Tintagel a few weeks ago... but now it's a hard choice, GWR War Black or Green??

Two castles were refinished in black. 5018 St Mawes was one....... Yiewsley Grange was black.
Kings were always turned out in Lined Green.
Mind me asking where did you learn that? I was under the assumption that the GWR Castles only went into GWR Green and not Black.

Recently, I've been looking for the tender from the Hornby R3622 BR J36 model for use in a relivery project.
PM me if you can help/

Ah, right, I catch your drift. Coal rails had been plated by the time of WW2. I've recently converted 722 for my dad into 1930s condition, and had to modify the coal rails as you say. There is a slight problem in that the upright supports for the rails are moulded on the rear of the rails (correctly), which would make it difficult to simply stick plating on the back of the rails. So you have to get rid of the uprights before doing the plating. Fortunately, Hornby's plastic is cooperative both to files and to Plastic Magic glue (for sticking the plasticard plating on).
EDUIT: but wouldn't a BR base model be better anyway as it has no Westinghouse? Admittedly, you'd have to remove the front number plate - not an easy job, but not as big a pain as removing the lining from 722. Some of it came off as soon as I opened the thinners nearby, but lots of it needed more abrasive treatments; I ended up respraying the whole thing.
Thank you for your response Daddyman
At the moment this is a longterm project so I can happily take my time (GWR Wartime Black, Green and LMS Black are ahead of the queue of repaints atm). Hopefully just a BR tender from the R3622 model may just turn up by itself at somepoint, otherwise I have dropped some emails around as well as a Wanted post on here as you never know.
At the moment, I'm just going to look at an example that has had the coal rails applied. Again thanks for the advice you have given me

What do you mean by a suitable candidate? There are 8 photos of J36s in this livery in Yeadon.
Yes indeed there is. My problem though is that the J36 I intend on getting re-liveried is a LNER 722 example which has the tender without the inner metal frame in it. The BR ones have this style of tender and looking at the 8 photos in Yeadon, they do as well but I maybe wrong unless yourself or anyone else can say otherwise. If so then please do say as it would be immensely appreciated
-
Has anyone here yet re-liveried their J36 into the NE livery of WW2? I'm struggling to find a suitable candidate from the Yeadon Register.

I have a friend who does some custom Grotesque lettering. You can see the results on the Hornby 42xx thread below. If you want to know who did me the transfers, please PM me and I will forward him onto you.
GWR 57xx Pannier 8700 is another Pannier I'd most likely suspect ended it's carrier in it's GWR Shirtbutton livery. The first photo link shows it in 1958. Unfortunately the second link photo doesn't include a date though.
