    No longer needed

Hi all, I am looking for two specific wagons for my layout. One is Dapol B883 ' Ellis & Everard' and the other is Bachmann 37-113 (also came part of the set 37-080m) 'Snibston'. If anyone has either of these and would be willing to sell them please message me. Many thanks

    Hornby Ruston 48DS

Thanks! Any chance of passing on a link to this newsletter? I'd quite like to see if the colourscheme is what I had in mind

    Hornby Ruston 48DS

Thanks! I'll take these into consideration

    Hornby Ruston 48DS

Thanks! Is there any way to colour match it other than mixing colours together until they match?
  5. I am modelling a certain industrial railway which has a Ruston shunter. However, the engine I am trying to model isn't one of the ones being modelled by Hornby yet. However, the War Department model is very similar apart from a few minor details which can be changed with a bit of paint. Is there any way I could identify the colour of the engine so I can match the rest of the engines paintscheme?
  6. Hi Richard. Thanks for the notice but if I can remember correctly, I think 'Isebrook' was ex-GWR, and while it wouldn't be noticeable it would play with my OCD when on display with an LNER region layout. Many thanks for the offer though.
  7. Hi Bill. Unfortunately that falls quite significantly over what I was hoping to pay for one. However, I am very grateful for the offer and wish you my greatest thanks.
  8. Hi Bill, as much as I would love to buy 68184, I'd imagine the postage from Canada would make it way more than I am looking to purchase one for.
  9. Thanks! I'll have a look at these. This has definitely left my options more open!
  10. Thanks! I'll bare that in mind. I'm trying to find something quite open as the Roco models are very small and I don't want a locomotive to make them look too small.
  11. I think I found one on eBay, but it was from Japan so the shipping price as well as the product made it about as expensive as a Portram.
  12. I keep searching for them at this often quoted £59 but can never find them. Oh the pains of inflation. But I agree, for the size they do look incredible value, I'm just trying to build mine on a bit more of a budget.
  13. I'll have to consider that! I was hoping for one specifically LNER/ex-LNER (and a bit cheaper to be honest!) but I'll take that into consideration
  14. Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for those as well. They seem to be less than the Portrams but still a bit much for me, but I'll keep an eye eye nonetheless.
  15. Do the Centrams use the same unit as the Portrams? I've seen some listed before at a lower price but was hesitant in case it wouldn't fit well enough
  16. Thanks! I had seen those, but as my collection is mostly LNER region locomotives, I want to try and stick with that theme.
  17. Thanks for that! It does look quite similar. I was also looking at the R2 'Elizabeth' which was at the railway when it was commercial. It's currently undergoing restoration but used to run in a black livery, hence the consideration of no.883. Thanks for the note on the Ruston, I hadn't actually noticed that. I guess with the limited history available of the locomotives that ran on the line there will always be a slim chance of finding the perfect one.
  18. I basing it on the Mountsorrel Railway. I had originally planned to do the who Great Central Railway (heritage), but that seemed too time consuming for what I had available so the branch line became more appealing. I understand what you are saying, the R2 does seem to be a rather obscure locomotive compared to the other Pecketts. The Ruston on the railway is a plain dark green with red buffer beams so if they were to do an almost bog-standard one that's the sort of thing I would imagine them doing. But thanks for your advice, I think I will go ahead and purchase the W4.
  19. Wanted: A Model Rail/Dapol 00 gauge Sentinel. They were made as exclusives to the magazine and I never got the chance to get my hands on one. No. 68138, no. 148, no. 150 or no 68184/8184 are the ones I'm searching for. Thanks, Harry
  20. I'm attempting to create a model set from a railway close to me. I have managed to obtain the relevant wagons but am stuck for a locomotive. The railway historically had a Peckett Class R2 similar in looks to the W4 no. 883 model which was released. There are some minor differences which is one of the reasons I held off from purchasing it originally in hope a set of R2s might be released. However the railway now has a Ruston & Hornsby, so you could tell why I was quite excited when I saw the announcement of the models earlier in the year. However, none of the models are close enough to the one at the railway. The War Department model is similar in colour however the actual train has a plain green front instead of black and yellow, as well as red buffer beams. I am wondering whether to wait out in hope of release of one of the other locomotives or purchase one of the aforementioned. Can anyone suggest what they would do if they were in my situation?
  21. I recently purchased a set of Roco 34512 personnel wagons purely because I thought they would suit my layout. I knew when purchasing them I didn't have a loco that would be suitable to pull them so started researching into what smallish locos were available that I thought would go well with it. I found two particular of note one was (as above) a model based on a Lister Autotruck (by RT Models) and the other was a skip diesel (by CW Railways), however both of these models used Kato Portram chassis and I'm trying to stick to a budget and couldn't find any chassis at a price I would be willing pay. I was wondering if anyone else any suggestions on what I could use. My only other thought was to purchase the Autotruck and have a powered wagon in between it and the Roco models.
