I’m currently on the 08:15 Penzance to Paddington - we’ve been told that we’re going through but have to pass very very slowly over the bridge.

Going back to the Bachmann model - am I right in thinking the lights at each end should have black surrounds, rather than yellow as depicted on the model?

regarding the sleeper stop, the “day” coaches (FO etc) you can use sLam door Mk3 HST counterparts, and railtec do replacement transfers. The print on the HST coaches practically falls off by rubbing your fingers its so easy.
The only problem with doing this, is that the matte band that wraps side, is actually different - on the sleeper it’s on the left, on HST stock it’s on the right!

I was going to order the GWR 57 too, but having searched Kernow themselves and Ebay for the GWR Green Sleeper MK3s, Kernow appear to have sold out and their are none on Ebay either. I think this will be an issue regarding how many people will buy this loco. The loco is available currently with many retailers in large quantities, but the coaches are very thin on the ground. With this in mind I have decided not to buy the GWR 57.
I also think that their will be a similar issue with regards as to how well the 57314 loco sells in Arriva Trains Wales Blue livery. I don't think that any Arriva coaches have ever been produced in ready to run form in OO Gauge, and 314 has worn West Coast Railway Maroon livery for years now, and typically works the Northern Belle luxury train.
I suppose this is the issue when producing locos which in reality have run with a limited amount of stock, so to be prototypical in model form, this also means that their are limited items of rolling stock available to buy and run with these locos.
Kind Regards,
Danny.
Admittedly if you want to model the Night Riviera accurately, it would involve a fair bit of modifying and respraying, as the RFM and BSO aren't available RTR. I think the Hornby packs just use a TGS?- 1

I just ordered one of these from Kernow - now I just have to try and track down some mk3 SLEPs to go with it, which is proving near on impossible!

I recently got back into model railways, off the back of the retirement of HST's, and so last years was the first range announcement I'd paid attention to since I was about 10, so 15 years ago! In my situation, it's a case of buying 'stock' to keep for a rainy day in the future when I eventually have space for a layout.
I'm really excited for the FGW HST & Mk3s, mainly because these have been going for CRAZY money on eBay. Also the PRIDE IET and Pendolino - as a member of the LGBT community, its so positive to see these included.- 3

But no HST40 plaques for 43002?
I can confirm that these are included - or at least they were in mine! -

Just managed to snag Hornby R3770 Sir Kenneth Grnage for £220 on eBay using the promo code!

EDIT: or they were never present - this one was converted from an FO

Hello Everyone,
I've having a bit of trouble trying to get my head around the formations of FGW/GWR HSTs.
I've been regular traveler on the Taunton to Penzance route since 2015, and have become a bit of a HST fan since their withdrawal !
Based on my own videos taken during 2019, I can see that formations tend to be A-B-C-D-H-J-K-L (TGS, TSO, TSD, TSO, TSO, TSO, TRFB, TFD).
However, I can remember seeing coaches E and F in a set on many occasions. In fact, I'm sure the formations used to be A-B-C-D-E-F-K-L.
Can anyone shed a little light on what the general practice was, and what is a good example of a prototypical set?
Thanks! -

In case anyone’s interested, here’s what the track on top of the bridge looks like! The one benefit of the speed restriction is that you get to have a good nosey at Laira as you crawl past.
