  1. Spot on John. Another example of no risk Capitalism or as it is in the UK, Taxpayer Funded Capitalism. Kind regards, 30368
  2. Absolutely wonderful work Dave. In some ways it seems a shame to paint it, all that construction detail with different materials, will be lost. You encourage me to build my Finney Adams Atlantic tank which has the internal valve gear kit included. Kind regards, 30368
  3. HST's still look good do they not? Kind regards, 30368
  4. Thanks Michael. I intended to sort the pony truck level anyway. My Roche drawing is correct then. Smoke deflectors on and this is the "Kitmaster" tender it will be paired with - some ride hight adjustment required. Kind regards, 30368
  5. No problem Phil. back Friday 15th. Thanks, I'm pleased with it so far. When painted an weathered, I think it will look good - I thought I would make it very dirty and then clean it up so that all the joins show up. It will be about 1960, 34030 still had original lining and BR logo and the tender was original too. Kind regards, 30368
  6. Car servicing week. There are no dealer servicing centres in Buxton to its a journey to Wilmslow for Mrs B and to Derby for me so not much Railway Modelling this week. I have received some really excellent WC/BB parts from RT models. Injectors, cab windows, smoke deflectors and many more bits and bobs. Really good quality, they took a little longer to arrive but I believe the owner of RT is a Train Driver so is often on shift but still manages to deliver. Well done, great job. Some primer just flashed on to locate some of the small covers etc. The rear pony casting (again, RT models) is at an odd angle. My drawing of the WC/BB insists that the pony wheel is 3' 1" in diameter but I think it is 3' 7", can anyone confirm? Body only temp. fit. Kind regards, 30368
  7. The M7 looks very nice Mark, a very minor comment, painting the wheel rims adds a touch of authenticity to the model. Kind regards, 30368
  8. Thanks Phil, I have a Dapol County so when I get around to it I will buy the kit. Kind regards, 30368
  9. Chassis being run in now. All fixing points sorted so onto detailing and then painting. Chassis is amazingly silent when running at all speeds. What have I done wrong? Kind regards, 30368
  10. Many thanks Bodmin , much appreciated. Now you have pointed that out it is ringing a bell. I will remove it. Kind regards, 30368
  11. Yes for the MN but no for the WC/BB will search further. Kind regards, 30368
  12. Really great Jonathan. Your set up is very Ashbourne with a bit of Buxton thrown in so you have succeeded very well in creating Derwent Spa. Two Derbyshire towns that I like very much. Kind regards, 30368
  13. Bogie and trailing pony now fitted. I just need to arrange fixing points on the old Hornby body for the chassis and then I will finish off the body. Not sure about the chimney cover - I think this arrangement was only fitted to the original MNs. Kind regards, 30368
  14. Good choice, I would be happy with either. I do have a SEF "W" kit to build but I still would build it if Accurascale made a "W" and buy thier "W" too. The first non Southern or GW steam loco I spotted was 40022 at St Pancras Station so for nostalgic reasons I would buy one. Kind regards, 30368
  15. Somewhat extreme I know, especially to you GWR types, I would like an SR/BR N15X 4-6-0. Very selfish of me I know, they were all shedded at Basingstoke in BR days so I could buy six of them, I already have one built by me from an ACE kit. This locomotive does not have a copper capped chimney. Kind regards, 30368
  16. A great achievment by RB and Max Verstappen to win 10 races on the "trot" as it were. I think though they had to work for it while the Ferrari tyres were fairly new. The "magic" DRS did not really make much difference with the low downforce Ferrari set up. A really great race by the top four drivers with very close racing but no misshaps. The Ferrari pair drove their hearts out for the win. It was a very great race to watch (although the Sky coverage spent too much time watching contests further down the field) reminding me, certainly for the first 15 laps or so, of the great slipstreaming races of old. If I understand it correctly, the tyre compounds this year are softer than last year, a pity given they higher tyre degradation on the Ferrari car. I got the impression from some of the drivers that they had a divine right to overtake without any attempt by the guy in front to fight for the place? Kind regards, Richard B
  17. Yes me too, I remember the incident well, Senna was very cross when he and Schlesser collided and Berger for Ferrari won the race. Lucy? yes for sure, but Berger was catching Senna very rapidly anyway. Kind regards, Richard B
  18. Hi Jo, I strongly suspect that you are right but as an (adult) life long Ferrari fan and lover of Italia, my heart rules in the special case of Monza. I have attended the GP at Monza six times and the atmosphere is just fantastic. Shopping and eating in Milan and then the train from Milano Centrale to Monza. The station is near the Lesmo Curves. The Italian GP at Monza is one of the delightful highs of life. Kind regards, Richard B
  19. FORZA FERRARI I forgive them all the cock ups this year in F1 and even more so if the pole is converted. Kind regards, Richard B
  20. Wow, looks really wonderful, did you paint and line it too? Really first class. Mine, when finished will have to be in early SR livery so for my layout (70D, 1948-1967) it will have to be a preserved loco pulling enthusiast specials which is almost as mad as Drummonds original design. I must admit that Drummond's various designs of 4-6-0 are very distinctive and make interesting models. Thanks, kind regards, Richard B
  21. Sorry to interupt the flow but a brief thanks to Tony, the two Jidenco kits purchased from him last week (Adams X2/T6 4-4-0) and a wonderously mad Drummond T14 4-6-0 (mad applying to both Drummond and the T14) have arrived safely but with a pleasant surprise a third etched kit an SR "BY" utility van as "compensation" for the very minor error that Tony made in the description of the Adams 4-4-0 kit. Thanks Tony, very kind. Just like Christmas really although buy all accounts the Jidenco kits will be sods to build. The T14 has been part built to represent the first Urie rebuild which is not ideal as a BR modeller since this version where all re-built by Maunsell in 1930. I await the PDK version of the T14 which I believe will be the final re-build that just made it into BR and worked some of the Waterloo - Basingstoke services. What a well organised work bench I hear you say....... Kind regards, Richard B
  22. As always, first class weathering. I only saw one K3, 61912 which, I think, was being used as a stationary boiler at New England. Kind regards, Richard B
  23. Have been busy but not on model railways! The connecting and coupling rods are now fitted. The piston rods are scratch built. Still needs adjustment but the chassis operates fairly smoothly. KInd regards, Richard B
  24. HI Dave, Dug this image out from 2012. Kind regards, Richard B
  25. But the nameplate looks very good! Looks very fine Dave. Kind regards, Richard B
