  3. Expertly assembled. A snip at £20. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AIRFIX-MODEL-No-R201-B-R-RAILBUS-CONSTRUCTION-KIT-BUILT/401457948951?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20171011185446%26meid%3Df6bad7f3d9574ef3a547b509a74331ff%26pid%3D100168%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D123604213177%26itm%3D401457948951&_trksid=p5411.c100168.m2941
  4. Unfortunately pressing it only gets you this, and nothing more which is not in the least bit intuitive or helpful. No instructions, no hints what to do. Zilch. I still don't know how to actually set up multiple replies to several posts. I deleted my reply to Simon because it was just too tiresome to respond, yet again, to his veiled barbs, and because his "Seriously?" insulted my intelligence, because it was a wholly un-neccessary jab. I was indeed, serious, Simon. And you knew that. The pertinent question is, were you?
  5. Kevin, are your potato plants from the same miniature vegetation maker that you mentioned before?
  6. Only on the internet... can one find photos of rabbits with their heads inserted through slices of bread. Why? Why, internet, why?
  7. I'll just leave this here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_warren_layout Hm. How do you multi-quote? I really am NOT trying to inflate my post count.
  8. "Good heavens! A dumb-bell loop!" I was sat here wondering why the Warrener is offering them a slice of toast on a stick.
  9. No, that's a Turner-esque sunset pregnant with fin de siècle portents.
  10. Moar Tri-Ang short coaches! Look, they even come in BR maroon.
  11. Looks good. Big improvement over the bullrushes. You can have areas of exposed mud too and different grasses but that would mean a lot more planting work and probably more load on the puter as well. What are the ground height editing tools like in Trainz? Does the ground mesh come as triangles that you can lower and raise the nodes of? I was thinking that creeks might be possible if you can stomach the fiddley work. You could do this with MSTS 1 but we had some pretty crude ground textures and plant models back in those days. IIRC the default MSTS 1 ground mesh was made of 16m triangles. There was a setting to fine tune these to 8m and even 4m but if you did that too much the game just gave up and crashed so it was only practical in small focussed areas of interest.
  12. Cunning. What method will you use to transfer the throw of the motors remotely? Will this only apply in the fiddle yard?
  13. How about lining the interior of the radiator shroud with metal cooking foil?
  14. Clerestory roofs were sometimes used on non-passenger carrying passenger rated stock so that the roof outline of a train was homogenous. Style and appearance were in designers and marketing men's minds even then. Also, 1) it looks good and 2) Rule #1 applies.
  15. Thanks. I don't want to lose natural light but perhaps some nets up would be enough to diffuse things without darkening the room.
  16. If the parish council is planning to attend in some numbers I will bring myself along.
  17. James, the original digital texture sheets might be in a format that can be displayed on the screen. These may not provide a direct side or end view of the building but all the component details will be there; one would just need to print them to your chosen scale and cut them up and apply them to whatever card wood or plastic substructure you were using.
  18. Oxford. Three railway stations, two of them Great Western and one LNWR. And a better class of passenger. And a canal. The best of all possible worlds.
  19. Very nice job so far. May I suggest carefully shaving off the handrails at the end steps and adding new ones of wire, and perhaps adding better steps as well? I add wire handrails on all my clerestory bashes and I think it adds much to the appearance.
  20. I like the grotty paintwork on the wood door and step handrails of the brick building beside the turntable. I also think an 8-wheeler tram engine makes all kinds of sense. It would distribute the weight per axle and so in fact make a loco with a lighter footprint, and of course a pair of bogies gives a better ride around very sharp curves than a LWB 4-wheeler.
  21. I'd go somewhat into fantasy if I were undertaking such a project - drawings, plans and structures could be used from the actual location but I'd convert Barnstaple into a terminus, give it a small shed and arrange it to fill a room something like this. If its a through station then (with the L&B line) you have 3 points of entry to the scene meaning the SG line must be arranged on a continuous circuit with a FY on the far side of the room or you have a triangle of FYs, neither arrangement is one I like as I find them wasteful of space.
  22. Some splendid modelling potential there James. Now that you have a drill hall under your belt you can model an entire motte and bailey mound. There even appears to be a 3-track fiddle yard equipped with Peco loco lift ready for use.
