  1. We do have a plan. We'll be shutting this topic off before the show and providing a link to a new topic which will open up after the show therefore limiting the opportunity of anyone who's watched 5 minutes to trash it all for their own personal gratification. Any punks trying to swerve that will be dealt with. Hopefully we then save some people from their uncontrollable self-harming. Fair comment will be permitted after the show's aired.
  2. Yes, if you click on the Info tab at the top of the page and then you should see a sub-heading for BRM Store - Readers' Offers.
  3. I've closed the previous armchair analysts topic ahead of the TV series being screened and created a fresh topic for discussion of the programme content. Please be mindful that several people featured may be members or readers of RMweb so due respect is requested. Pointless comments which add nothing will be removed, repeated instances of such will lead to removal of access to the topic for that person. I hope it's an enjoyable product; it's important to the hobby that Hornby are shown in, at least, an interesting light to a wider audience and as with Channel 5's series last year represents a good opportunity to stimulate interest in the wider hobby. The programme is available on iplayer to UK residents - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00030wh/james-mays-big-trouble-in-model-britain-episode-1
  4. It may be worth emailing David Postle at Kidderminster Railway Museum to see if he can point you in the right direction - krm@krm.org.uk
  5. My apologies; a result of fat fingers on the mobile when I added the link. Now corrected.
  6. Or just use the report button on a duplicate post and we'll take care of it.
  7. Phil and I have decided that we'll be on duty with our .44 Magnums tomorrow night to sort out the punks. Fair warning is given that pointless hyperbole will be taken down. Well; do you feel lucky?
  8. It's happened to me a couple of times (even though I don't have any limits) and I'm trying to work out if there is anything other than a local connection interruption causing it.
  9. Oxford Rail have shared some spec and CAD info... Please see attached CAD images for the J27. The variations are: P3/diagram 57 boiler Diagram 57a boiler Ramsbottom safety valves Ross pop safety valves Short and Tall chimneys Different smoke box doors Different coal rails. 2 types of wheels (original locos were built without balance weights on centre wheels, later balance weights were added)
  10. Certainly are; the first time I saw them in the flesh it reinforced that Geoff exists on a different plane from other modellers. I've only painted a small black square in place before, Geoff's have a discernible centre section and surround.
  11. It will send notifications for every reply - that's how you've got it set up. You've got 17 pages of followed content too https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/followed/ which maybe need a looking at for the individual notification settings.
  12. I'm not surprised you're getting inundated! These are the settings for 3 pages of topics set to notify you. I have made some changes to reduce the number of notifications you get; one per day.
  13. No, when I make a polite and reasonable request and you choose to defy it your stay will be short. Your choice.
  14. Did they? Parcel Force (use the correct name please) are charged with collecting import VAT on behalf of HMRC and they levy a handling/collection charge. See https://www.parcelforce.com/help-and-advice/receiving/how-are-customs-fees-calculated Prospective purchasers should check with a business whether the trading entity is in the UK with VAT included in quoted prices or if the business is outside the UK with VAT on top collected at import.
  15. It works the other way here... "Is that more work?" "Nope, these are toys for me." "Oh, that's alright then." She says I should spend more time modelling; should I be worried?
  16. See https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/trade-tariff/commodities/9503003000?currency=EUR&day=2&month=3&year=2019
  17. Import duties are zero on toys, VAT applies where appropriate.
  18. As I have had no similar problems reported from other users and cannot reproduce the problem at this end I cannot give any useful advice other than to reiterate that using a site function which gives portability across browsers or devices and resilience to loss of localised settings - You have not advised what browser you are using or OS details so any other response would be based on generic solutions. My standard advice to anyone with browser issues is to delete any RMweb cookies and temporary internet files and login afresh but I'd doubt you do that as you'd probably lose your history anyway. The problem is not server-side and, therefore, neither is the solution.
  19. Why try to indicate we are at fault? If it was working a few days ago and isn't now it tends toward a local browser issue. You may find it more useful to use the site's bookmarking facility anyway rather than relying on your browser. If you had to clear history for any reason you would lose them anyway.
  20. Email newsletter received yesterday 14.16 Bargain spotted and order placed at 15.50 Packing and despatch notification at 15.59 Parcel delivered (via basic RM option) at 10.01 this morning. Can't moan about that for efficiency!
  21. It looks like some changes have occurred from what had been previously indicated.
