He's deep in research for Kate vs. the Bake Off.
  2. OK, can we tone down the more personal comments please?
  3. They are the same items that were on show.

    You're lucky, we're up to page 48.

It must be true, you keep saying it. Did you read the piece I did in BRM a year ago which looked at the positives and negatives of crowdfunding? There was a purpose to doing that.
  7. Ironic that I then have to remove a post you made about other events.
  8. Please do not post 'facts' or statements which could prejudice any prosecution or trial. It is up to the organisers and/or police to post relevant information.
  9. I'd say he was parodying the sort of rubbish I read on some Facebook pages this morning.
  10. I'd bite the bullet and use the physical address that the PO box tie to, surely that's permissible? It's not like you'd get many nutty modellers turning up halfway across the world from the main market.
  11. I know what you have said about PO Boxes Keith but in the UK, in a commercial sense, it is a means of masking a physical address where callers are not accepted or welcome. I am trying to help here.
  12. Whilst you are correct about registered addresses not necessarily being the same as a trading address there is currently a lot of concern about transparency, ethics and trust at the present time here after the collapse of DJM. It's your call of course but more openness and transparency would not do you any harm and potentially secure more customers.
  13. My sympathies to any affected traders. There's a lot of hard work trading on the exhibition circuit and deserve praise for the amount of graft expended.

1 - so are others but that isn't suiting YOU. 2 - a sentence which means you will set off our spidey senses more quickly, more often.

If you had taken less time to read Phil's earlier post https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/145052-djm-the-end/&do=findComment&comment=3584367 than it took to make that post you would have been better off.
  16. Make Scenecraft Central to Your Plans On Friday 14th June 2019, Bachmann Europe Plc announced several new additions to its Scenecraft range of OO scale buildings during the Great Central Railway’s Model Event. Fittingly, the models are based on the structures found at the GCR’s Rothley Station. The models have previously been available in Green & Cream livery – originally used by the GCR in the early 20th century and the condition in which Rothley Station is currently presented. Due to popular demand these models make a welcome return along with the addition of two further colour schemes of Brown & Cream, suitable for the 1920s-1940s and as Quorn & Woodhouse Station appears today, and Maroon & Cream harking back to the 1950s-1960s when the line was under the control of BR Midland Region. Each set consists of a high-level Station Entrance and Staircase, a Station Booking Office and Canopy, a Waiting Room and Toilet. Matching Road Bridges are also available to complete the station scene. Each model is hand-painted with features including etched windows & signs and separately applied detail parts such as fire-buckets and lamps. The models were available to purchase from Bachmann stockists during the Model Event and can be purchased from all Bachmann stockists shortly afterwards. Details of the items are as follows: 44-115A Gentlemen's Toilet GCR Green & Cream £19.95 44-115B Gentlemen's Toilet 1920s-40s Brown & Cream £19.95 44-115C Gentlemen's Toilet - 1950s-60s Maroon & Cream £19.95 44-116A Waiting Room GCR Green & Cream £39.95 44-116B Waiting Room 1920s-40s Brown & Cream £39.95 44-116C Waiting Room 1950s-60s Maroon & Cream £39.95 44-117A Station Booking Office and Canopy GCR Green & Cream £53.95 44-117B Station Booking Office and Canopy 1920s-40s Brown & Cream £53.95 44-117C Station Booking Office and Canopy 1950s-60s Maroon & Cream £53.95 44-119A High Level Station Entrance GCR Green & Cream £89.95 44-119B High Level Station Entrance 1920s-40s Brown & Cream £89.95 44-119C High Level Station Entrance 1950s-60s Maroon & Cream £89.95 44-121 Central Single Track Road Bridge £39.95

There's an irony that some of the business assets, according to the liquidator, include competitors' models (in different scales) which were purchased for 'examination purposes'.
  19. I wasn't immune to that consideration and had previously worked around and through various explosions but he'd had more second chances than Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. We all draw the line somewhere.
  20. I think it's a shame the relevant posts regarding Roy haven't been made in the appropriate obituary topic set up https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/145166-roy-jackson/ - that way it would have been a supportive topic for his family and friends to read at some point rather than them becoming lost in time within this extended topic. Feel free to contribute to that topic too.
  21. It's pulling in links from Featured Topics. I need to break the feed into notifications, or at least update with more Featured Topics! I'll look at it when I am back.

    Roy Jackson

Thanks Phil for taking care of the topic at a sensitive time. The news was not unexpected but very sad all the same. Roy was a formidable force with a tremendous history within the hobby and many friends far and wide. My condolences to Roy's family and his many, many good friends. I had immense respect and time for Roy who was always a pleasure to chat to with his definite opinions. I also found him to be a wonderfully caring bloke in many small ways. It's been a pleasure to point a camera at his work, not that many pictures ever got taken as too much time was spent gassing. I'll miss Roy. I had the chance for a good chat with him on the phone a couple of weeks ago after he escaped from hospital for some great care at home with family and friends; it was a straightforward and honest chat in the circumstances, both understanding what the outcome would be but at least I had chance to offer my own thanks for things he has done over the years.
  23. Can I ask where you saw that displayed please?
