  1. Locomotion Models are delighted to announce that they have commissioned a OO Scale Class 33/1 locomotive No. D6535 ‘Hertfordshire Rail Tours’ from Heljan. This is the first exclusive edition model produced for Locomotion Models by the Danish manufacturer. Built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company it was delivered on the 10th December 1960, it entered service on British Railways Southern Region as D6535. It was renumbered 33116 on 31st December 1973 and was named ‘Hertfordshire Rail Tours’ on 11th December 1993 at Weymouth station by John Farrow and Ian Kapur of Hertfordshire Rail Tours. The name was carried until April 1998. It was withdrawn from traffic in August 1998 and stored out of use at Old Oak Common until June 2003 when it was acquired for the National Collection. The National Railway Museum loaned it to the Great Central Railway in April 2005 where it has been located ever since and is available for traffic. The Heljan model utilises existing tooling and will be produced DCC READY which requires the fitting of an 8PIN decoder into the socket provided. The model carries the Eastleigh depot ‘Spitfire’ plaque, has working directional lighting, NEM coupling pockets, etched nameplates and sprung buffers. The model will cost £149 and is due for release in December 2019. The model will be available across the counters at both Locomotion (Shildon) and The Railway Museum (York) as well as through the Locomotion Models website at www.locomotionmodels.com The model can be pre-ordered for a deposit of £30.
  2. Not of any substance and as we've reached cyclical stage it's time to close it.
  3. I drove through one at 88mph and ended up in a Wimpy.
  4. Officer Crabtree is alive and well. We spent an interesting day last week which including looking at what goes into the decoration of the Western Pullman which explains some of the costs. I'd love it to be compulsory viewing for those mumbling about prices.
  5. It's after 5, I'm not answering.
  6. What's this then? Already in the same forum as the question has been asked in, in fact it was the first topic when this unnecessary topic was created.
  7. You've obviously not had a run in with PC Trebasco (hotsh*t to his mates) from Truro nick, e'll tell yer.
  8. The outcome down there was probably determined by whether you put jam or cream on your scones first. Jam first? Spread 'em Janner!
  9. It's probably more to do with what drivers were or weren't doing on approaching and leaving the ferry than what they were doing whilst 'parked'. There's a lack of clarity in the story, probably for effect; an unsurprising feature of local newspapers or news sites.
  10. Melmoth has linked to the appropriate content but it's worth re-inforcing that the whole of production, assembly and decoration of this model has been carried out in the UK. The size of the runs was based on optimisation of the materials used in the manufacturing process, it would have been unprofitable to just add a few more to a run.
  11. Peco also stipulate a physical store with regular opening hours. I believe it's also a requirement from Hornby to have a direct account rather than going through a wholesaler.

  13. It doesn't matter if it's from one approved stockist to another but there have been instances where Bachmann have made it very clear that a warranty will not apply to a non-approved stockist (the rare occasions when there's been back-door transfers to some online-only businesses). For clarity their warranty states:
  14. Technically correct but Bachmann wish to be as fair as possible and will try to help end users as much as possible.
  15. See https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/145752-hattons-bachmann-new-stock-cancelled-pre-orders-07-aug/&do=findComment&comment=3634481 and stop posting duplicate topics or adding to individual product topics please.
  16. Post of the day! I'll start deleting pointless ones and upset someone who demands to be heard.
  17. See https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/145752-hattons-bachmann-new-stock-cancelled-pre-orders-07-aug/&do=findComment&comment=3634481 Please keep any product topics to the product rather than the retailer otherwise every Bachmann topic will become a mess.
  18. See - please keep product topics to the product rather than the retailer.
  19. I have clarified the position with Bachmann. If a customer has bought a model from a retailer (as new, directly supplied stock) who is either defunct, no longer an account holder or stock purchased from Bachmann before any supply ceased then the model is still covered by the Bachmann warranty. In such circumstances it's always advisable to retain proof of purchase.
  20. There is no point in making any demands to 'sort things out', Hattons have taken this step to give customers clarity on the position as the situation had not been resolved so that customers now know where they stand.
  21. If you imagine the sign's content being dictated to the writer it becomes clearer.
  22. In my best handrighting I did.
  23. Our local Chinese takeaway is shut at the mo.
  24. Check your settings in View New Content in the Read Status column Mick, it sounds like you have it set so it only shows unread items.
