    Appreciate the kind words! As I understand it Margaret is currently out of stock at Barwell but when I clarified that, I was told a second batch of some of the NG7 range (including Margaret) should be due to arrive at the start of August. I haven't opened up pre-orders as I'm unsure as to what's exactly due or whether we'll secure any stock from that batch but I have ordered on the basis that if we get more, it's a bonus. 😄

    That one has really got our heads scratching to be honest! In a bid to ensure it doesn't happen again, yesterday evening I extensively tested my own Alice in it's box to try and replicate both the in-transit movement and post-testing-packing theory, neither of which I can repeat. My poor Alice has now had a bit of an ordeal too, I fear if I try anything else she'll scuttle off and hide somewhere... Regardless of the cause it's totally our fault, of course the loco is being replaced free of charge and I believe it's already on the way back to us. 😄 I have also personally checked all the (very limited) remaining stock to ensure they are correctly packaged, as well as issuing a note to the packers to add extra packaging when sending these models out. That will cover off both bases and ensure this isn't repeated. Apologies to Quarryscapes for the issue, on the upside he'll get second pack of biscuits - every cloud and all that!

    Oh no the 18th, I'm so sorry about that! That was our Saturday closure for May: we're quite involved with the Dean Forest Railway and run some events for them, the largest is our evening "Murder Mystery" special. It's best described as two round trips behind a steam loco whilst we serve a two course restaurant dinner and actors run up and down the train killing each other...all on the move and in the dark with 200 guests per night. It's a fast paced and labour intensive event, everyone that works here pitches in so we have to close for them sadly. Thanks for the online order, we hope you're in the area again sometime soon and try again! Enjoy the shortcakes Martin! Oh, and the loco. Glad we could help. 😃

    Oh no! Sorry you missed us, when did you come past? 🙂 Good to hear you enjoyed the museum, it is a little gem and completely voluntary owned/run. It's a fantastic collection and the small team that run it are very friendly.

    Aha! We do have an N gauge mailing list, although I will be honest our newsletters are very much demand based and our N/OO9/Garden Railway newsletters only get distribution when something juicy happens - our OO is a more structured, regular newsletter...when I get time to set them up. 😅 Sounds like you might be on the wrong list there, not a problem at all - that'll be our fault.     Good shout Chris, being a family business and holidays/special events etc (including one we have in the middle of May) usually mean we close the odd day here and there. We have a shop customer specific mailing list which we only recommend those that visit regularly or plan to visit anytime sign up to for updates on opening hours, shop only offers, etc. Anyone wishing to sign up can find that here.

    Back again in 2024, the Lydney Model Railway show is a will feature over 25 layouts and traders with a wide variation in scales, gauges and eras. The exhibition features free parking, refreshments (Including our popular homemade cakes) and full disabled access.     However much I love Cornish Pasties I don't think I could managed that many... They can be traced back to the Dean Forest Railway who kindly save and flatpack those boxes for us upon delivery. Rapido were very nice and provided the box dimensions in advance so we could prepare and stock up as those flat style boxes are hard to find! The other one that's a problem for finding boxes is the EFE LSWR 3 and 4 coach packs and the Rapido APT-E...

    Honestly, we're not peeved at all - in fact I didn't even know until I saw this thread. 😂 We're actually more flattered that this topic was created than if we were in the awards itself, so thankyou all for the kind comments. 😄 We often purposely hide away anyway, we rely on word of mouth and recommendations and only pay for very limited advertising so it's nice when we do manage to stretch ourselves into awards! Sure, being nominated for awards is great and we're always very appreciative, but not being on the list is fine for us and just means we've got to work harder to be nominated next year! 💪

    Hi there! Whoops! Looks like the listing team got confused on their classes, thanks for letting us know! Having just audited the orders placed so far and remaining stock on the site, we believe it was only the LNWR coaches that were effected - all of the other listings were and are correct (but please let us know if you think otherwise!). Please feel free to resume impluse purchasing... 😉
