  1. Certainly not !! You can't solder them !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  2. Really? What evidence is there that he has done ANYTHING other than source readily obtainable products designed by his predecessors? As to actually producing anything himself, or making any discernable efforts to get his injection moulding equipment functional, I've heard nothing but lame excuses. He sames to make some pocket money by attending some exhibitions, and by accepting payment for goods that he knows he can't supply. I surmise that he wonders why he should make any real effort in those circumstances. Regards, John Isherwood.
  3. Two years - is that all? On that basis it's only just been announced !! Lead times are WAYYYYY more than that, nowadays. Regards, John Isherwood.
  4. I travelled on an old Swiss style electric mountain railway in SW France - (La Rhune ?) - a few years ago, and there were most definite jolts as the pushing loco started and was 'notched-up'. Regards, John Isherwood.
  5. One can only assume that it is a slovenly nickname for Bachmann. Regards, John Isherwood.
  6. Here's something that I don't recall seeing before ..... .... BR and BRCW Type 2s in multiple - with their inter-cab corridors connected. Regards, John Isherwood. Not my photo - if copyright owner requests, it will be removed.
  7. Since it seems that this subject has now been excised, we can only hope that Samantha was aware of the level of support for her before the curtains came down. Regards, John Isherwood. PLEASE DO NOT POST IN RESPONSE - WE'LL ONLY GET CLOSED DOWN AGAIN.
  8. Far too many !! Regards, John Isherwood. PS. Pre-TOPS wagons ran in the TOPS era; TOPS wagons, by definition, did not run in the pre-TOPS era.
  9. Not for those who model pre-Tops. Regards, John Isherwood.
  10. I ordered a couple of these some years ago, when I first came across them. I haven't had the chance to use them yet - but they are certainly very powerful and well-built. Regards, John Isherwood.
  11. The lower coach roof looks remarkably realistic for an 'in-service-for-some-time' model !!! Regards, John Isherwood.
  12. I think that someone has already been there - see the main Coopercraft thread. The bailiffs were unable to gain entry in order to confiscate items; think hard before throwing good money after bad. Regards, John Isherwood.
  13. I think that the scenario goes :- I'm bored - I'll browse Ebay for coach kits; ..... Ooo, don't recognise that one / I haven't seen one of those for ages - it must be rare; ..... as it's rare, I'll bid quite a bit higher than I would normally do; ..... crikey - I got a bit carried away with that one; still, I got it (at a price); ..... right, I wonder what's new on RMweb? ..... Ooo - good-buy-from Ebay - ohhhh sh*************t !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, John Isherwood.
  14. If it did, it seems to have been a one-off - I can't find it on any of the others in the class. Perhaps your comments re asphyxiation lend weight to my kipper-smoking theory? Regards, John Isherwood.
  15. Is it really that green? Looks more Doncaster than Swindon! Regards, John Isherwood.
  16. None of this is doubted - I included the conditional word "if" when I mentioned gloating. If the "if" does not apply, neither does that part of my comment. In a situation such as this, the customer has the unalienable right to return the item as unsatisfactory though, increasingly, the chances of obtaining a replacement are becoming more remote. We each make our own decisions in those circumstances - I just question the value of publicising that decision to fellow customers. Much more would be achieved by a 'no-holds-barred' e-mail addressed to the MD of the company. Mark the missive "For the personal attention of (A.N. OTHER), Managing Director, (XYZ) Company Limited". (The MD's name is dead easy to discover in this internet age). It works for me !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  17. Has he looked closely at a prototype, nominally ex-works loco - or even a good photo of one back in the 1950s / 60s? Before it even moved under its own steam, it would be splattered with smuts and dirty condensate. Out-of-the-box models are TOO pristine, and look like nothing that ever ran in service. .... but if it's just for sitting in a display case whilst gloating, perhaps he has a point ! Regards, John isherwood.
  18. The BR / NB 200HP 0-4-0DH shunters were a little odd looking, anyway - but D2701 seems to have had some sort of pipework between the bonnet and cab. In-cab sauna, perhaps? ... or kipper smoker? Any further thoughts - serious or whimsical - are welcome. Regards, John Isherwood. If anyone claims copyright of the above photo, I will remove it on request.
  19. ..... which is where the link in the post above yours takes you, amongst others. Regards, John Isherwood.
  20. ...... and how many millions have the corporate identity consultants charged for that piece of inspired thinking ?!? Regards, John Isherwood.
  21. I have spoken to Dave today; he has health issues which, together with the duplication of most of his range of diesel loco kits by Heljan, means that he no longer has a website. However, he is still able to supply some items, and his current e-mail address is alexandermodels37@gmail.com . Regards, John Isherwood.
  22. ..... or you could just use Sheet BL28 from https://www.cctrans.org.uk/products.htm . This is printed from dead-scale files and CAN be applied to the beading - all you need is a transfer settling liquid such as Microscale Microsol; see https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MSSOL . Regards, John Isherwood.
  23. To avoid spoiling the finish, apply a black patch from my Sheet BL7 over the TOPS markings, before applying the pre-TOPS lettering. Regards, John Isherwood. https://www.cctrans.org.uk/products.htm
