  1. Chris, Bob83a stated in an earler posting that "In the December issue of Model Rail it appears that the Model numbers/Loco numbers have changed for several of the forth-coming releases". Are you saying that this is incorrect; ie., that there has not been any changes to the item number and loco number / livery relationships? Clearly, all those that have pre-ordered, including me, will want to be sure that the item number that they have chosen still relates to the loco number / livery that they require. I would have thought that a definitive, on-line list of the models on offer would be a basic essential for on-line sales! Regards, John Isherwood
  2. Chris, Please could you point me to an on-line definitive list of the spec. for each version on offer? I have placed a pre-order, but would like to ensure that what I have ordered is what I need. Regards, John Isherwood.
  3. I seriously doubt that the cab lights of the prototype were as bright as that - but then, IMHO, that is the fundamental problem with all lighting on model rolling stock. Regards, John Isherwood.
  4. I don't think so - they are the originals as-built. Regards, John Isherwood.
  5. The original works drawings are available from the (N)RM - I bought a set when I intended trying to correct a Dinosaur Diesels kit; (which was promptly sold-on when Judith Edge announced their kit). Regards, John Isherwood.
  6. Leader - in a sense; but 36001 was the first of what was intended to be a class, and was not the only one on the (abhorted) production line. Regards, John Isherwood.
  7. Connor, A a retired 'one-man-band', I have to limit the demands on my time that supplying transfers makes. For that reason, I now limit new sheets to the BR 1948 - 68 period - sorry. Regards, John Isherwood.
  8. You may be interested in my Sheet BL171; the instruction / key sheet is below; (the numbers are, of course, provided in duplicate where the Diagram information is shown on the key). Regards, John Isherwood, Cambridge Custom Transfers. https://www.cctrans.org.uk/products.htm
  9. Phil, A small class with detailed variations, admittedly - but hardly a prototype. Regards, John Isherwood.
  10. 18100? DHP1? .... and, if you include trip locos / shunters - TAURUS, 11001, D0226, D0227, D2999; (and I'm sure that others will find more). Regards, John Isherwood.
  11. Yep - I'll be sticking with my Judith Edge 10100; (yet to be built). Regards, John Isherwood.
  12. You really can't wait to say "I told you so", can you? Some list members were, wisely, sceptical of a new-comer with a rather contentious attitude to potential customers. Many are now prepared to say complimentary things about what has recently been presented - so far. We all await reports of the running qualities, and a few of us are not going to make any positive comments until they have seen the production model in the flesh, and running. To my mind, their caution is far from being negative - simply pragmatic. Regards, John Isherwood.
  13. I suspect that weather, and therefore speed of drying, is a factor here. I shall henceforth try and use Dullcote in a warm, dry atmosphere. Regards, John Isherwood.
  14. Probably not quite enough coverage. I had this when I recently Dullcoted a Bachmann G2 - but it looked quite authentic, so I've left well alone! Dullcote provides a completely uniform matt finish if properly applied. Regards, John Isherwood.
  15. Lets hope so - or it's the Brio wooden version !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  16. A small point - the bonnet edge handrails were in sections, with small gaps in between them; the sections coincided with the individual roof panels. There is something incorrect in the siting of the handrail stanchions in that they don't coincide with the panel joints. There should be an end stanchion against each panel joint for each panel; as modelled, it would not be possible to lift the individual roof panels. Regards, John Isherwood.
  17. You had to collect Lyons Maid (?) Fireball XL5 ice lolly wrappers to get the kit. Received wisdom was that it was produced by Kitmaster. Regards, John Isherwood.
  18. I'd guess that answering that would need quite a bit of research. Many tank wagons of a particular style looked similar, but tank lengths and diameters varied. This was a problem with Bachmann's anchor-mounted tank wagons - some of the liveries that they produced should have had similar, but dimensionally different, tanks. It all comes down to how pedantic you are about exact detail. Regards, John Isherwood.
  19. Are you sure? They're saying that there are still tooling amendments to be made. Regards, John Isherwood.
  20. Excellent - note also that the bogie and tender axlebox covers carried the SKF logo in white. Regards, John Isherwood
  21. Thank you for your detailed response - it is much appreciated. Regards, John Isherwood.
  22. Not bad at all !! Congratulations. The question of whether there were grilles over the exhaust ports has long been the subject of debate - do you have evidence; (photographic or otherwise); for those on the model? Will you be adding the roller bearing caps over the crankpins - and the chequerplate walkways above the battery cases? Above the tender steps / handholes, the fuelling doors were outlined and marginally raised - presumably that is detail yet to be added? Regards, John Isherwood.
  23. You are, of course, correct - another example of my aging memory !! Regards, John Isherwood.
  24. It strikes me that it is a good thing that you have Peterborough North with which to calm your ire - I thought that golf was supposed to be a relaxing sport ?!? I'm glad that anything competitive - especially if it involves balls - has always done absolutely nothing for me ! Regards, John Isherwood.
  25. I assume, therefore, that The Johnster's reference to CHAFFINCH is a typo for WREN? Regards, John Isherwood.
