  1. keep an eye out for the next issue of rail express, been told i will have a pic in there (possibly 2 depending on space!) anyway a few pics from today, had to go to birmingham to move a 56 back to crewe saw this as i was waiting for my train, waited for it to depart only to be totally blanked out by the steam from the draincoacks so i never managed a photo! lady penelope in the bay desiro and pendolino i then headed off to birmingham, a quick walk from aston to washwood heath to collect 56087 to bring it back to the electric depot before walking home!
  2. no, a 66 will get out of LBT, as long as you only have 19 iia wagons and take a run at the bank! i only ever got stuck once coming out of there with 66725, i ended up hand sanding the track and i got it moving eventually, 45 mins to move less than 100 metres! 60s will get out of there easily as will 59s (although i've not had a go of them!!)
  3. not as upset as they will be when they realise the metal wheel "rig" will short out the electrics
  4. Just one pic this week..... had a week down hampshire doing an assessors course that at the end of i will have a city and guilds qualification, it was in petersfield right by the station but i never managed to get any pics, i then moved on to eastleigh to do class 70s, had a day on them doing static training but never mqnaged to get my handling in on them and be passed out so i still dont sign them!! To top it off i've got a job on every day next week so i aint going to be doing it then either, maybe soon!! Anyway here is my training loco, 70801, the old 70099, which has a few differences to the rest of the fleet but nothing major Moving a 56 tomorrow from washwood heath to crewe then back onto the coal next week
  5. just the way the flows work, they were probably en route to be refilled at the virtual quarry in bescot after depositing the previous load somewhere on the western, the full wagons may have been spoil going north to be reclaimed or whatever they do with it!
  6. i did notice that too...... edit: the video has now dissapeared!!
  7. i was of course on the 70, however forum member '40044' was right behind us on your the video on the NR57!!
  8. they must have dropped those autoballaster wagons off at hinksey coz when i got on it at nuneaton it was consisted of a long rake of falcons (1800 tons worth!) and a few salmons
  9. some pics of the day outside seaforth container terminal, it was moved there yesterday so it saved us having to open the gates etc, quite a few spotters taking pics through the fence!! as noted elsewhere there is no number on the cab end and so towards regent rd, had to stop to operate the crossing here and once the loco was clear i had to switch it off to raise the barriers again at the stop board at regent rd, for those who don't know the area, the liverpool overhead railway ran pretty much directly above the line here into the wapping sidings at edge hill to change ends and away we went to bescot via runcorn, stopped at the closed ditton station to let a test train past then he had us away... did an unusual move in crewe that in 13 years i've never done, up slow before the station, over to the down fast (bi-directional line) then a route indicator over onto the up slow line south of the station! and so onward to bescot where we dropped it into an empty short road ready to be used wednesday and that was that, lots of photographers about so no doubt lots of pics to be seen later on
  10. Think i saw him, looks a lot bigger than when he was out photographing me on the new fastline 66s!!
  11. Firat part of todays job done, 70802 from liverpool to bescot, on time departure from the docks and early running pretty much most of the way One iphone pic so far, the rest are on the camera which i'll download before i carry on with the 2nd part of the day, driving to portsmouth!! 70802 waiting to leave seaforth
  12. Schedule for today http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O81452/2014/03/10/advanced Going via runcorn for a change
  13. the highlighted areas that stick out are the various heat exchangers for air, oil and water mounted under and alongside the fans
  14. yeah they look a lot worse that they are, still a bit of a tight squeeze for me though!!
  15. i dont know how it works, there must be a requirement for someone to provide a driver as required, last week the same train had an ews engine one end and a freightliner one the other! a few more pics from the last week or so, nowt spectacular this time sorry! called in at the co-op in atherstone on my way to nuneaton, its right next to the station so i decided to have 10 mins there getting some pics, no freight but a lot of virgin stuff!! and on to hinksey where 70805 picked up 804 to take it on to westbury not much room between them.... and one from friday, not a particularly good pic but i've had a go at touching it up a bit on photobucket, there was no light on the loco side at all!!
  16. 70805 is the other one, and no, there is no roof cowl open on it if anyone is interested 70802 is moving off the docks in the morning to bescot (i assume for forward passage to westbury on 6V46)
  17. day 1 of my busy weekend out of the way, possession train in cradley heath, a night of 'move forward 3 wagons' driver then 3 hours of nothing so managed a bit of sleep, 66602 this time on it tomorrow is 70802 off the docks in liverpool then a van drive to hampshire afterwards!
  18. the reason my posts are short is i've hardly been home long enough to upload my piccies now i use a proper camera most of the time! this weekend is going to be a busy one too, coal job tonight, DJing for an hour tomorrow evening and then straight off to a possession in birmingham at the end of my set, day off sunday, conducting 70802 from liverpool on monday morning then driving to hampshire straight afterwards , 2 day assessor course in portsmouth tues/wed then over to eastleigh to do the class 70 course the rest of the week!!
  19. how about johnstown, near wrexham http://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/403323/images/DS2005_002_001.jpg
  20. i got to hinksey last night and realised i'd left my tape at home, was going to measure the shorter ones for you!! next time im there i'll try and remember but im not on it this coming week
  21. Bob received the following text from his neighbour... . I am so sorry Bob. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess. I have been tapping your wife, day and night when you're not around. In fact, more than you. I'm not getting any at home, but that's no excuse. I can no longer live with the guilt, and I hope you will accept my sincerest apology with my promise that it won't happen again. . Bob, anguished and betrayed, went into his bedroom, grabbed his gun, and without a word, shot his wife and killed her. . A few moments later, a second text came in: . Damn auto correct ..... I meant "Wi-Fi", not "wife".
