  1. you know what, before i read this post i was going to say your lucky your DSM wasnt stood on the bridge with a speed gun during some of those moves!
  2. someone has got their Dapol 68 early, they need to tone the LED yard lights down a bit but the use of hanging basket liner for the grass is quite effective 68003 Bescot yard by jim scott, on Flickr
  3. some from yesterday, kirow crane from shrewsbury to toton and light loco back to bescot started in salop, waited in severn bridge box for my train to arrive then it appeared 70802 up front looped at cosford for 45 mins, while i was there the air ambulance came in to land stopped at wolverhampton to wait for a pendolino to head south then onward to water orton for 30 mins and into toton, no pics as it was straight in, straight out, back via leicester and nuneaton and into bescot drs 68 waiting its stock and that was that
  4. i think i might just go for a rake of HIA's, compared to the likes of the biomass wagons they seem an absolute bargain
  5. My next one arrived this morning, they must just send out stuff randomly, still waiting for the unimog but this little beauty has turned up Quite pleased with this one
  6. Some daytime pics Added something I missed off the DBSO, black end as well as painting the drivers step Next up is mask off the cantrails and paint those on and refit the glazing to the windowed coach
  7. Continued with SGT2 this afternoon, tried to spray the top coat with my airbrush but I'm having serious problems with it, paint was just coming out in blobs so I gave up and hand painted the bodies with a nice daler and rowney brush and I'm more than happy with the result, actually a better finish than with the airbrush in my opinion!! First up the yellow, the smoothed side coach isn't particualrly well finished regards the window blanking but more than passable for what I want it for, I should have rubbed it back and added more squadron putty after priming it but I'm lazy! The accompanying coach is a better finish Overall view, I've also refitted 2 of the UV lights that had come off (need to make one more) and added the driver's door step (needs painting black) I was going to leave it there but as there was still a bit of light I hand painted the roof's and black ends on both the coaches By now the light had gone so photo with a flash Cantrail, white handrails, 'dusty bin' gauging barrel and decals to add and it's pretty much done
  8. A few from this morning from the phone camera, not in the mood for proper pics again, prefered to get some shut eye when I could instead! Ballast drop in Newtown again, top and tail 66s 66850 leading to Newtown, so on the rear in this pic as I changed ends And 66849 on the other end Had a look at the track being replaced, I think it's bullhead, some of the chairs are marked GWR 1927 And into Newtown station to wait for permission to leave the worksite And off to Sutton bridge where I got relief and the train continued to Bescot http://youtu.be/nJhAAgJs6vM
  9. Anyone in the market for a Z21 wanting to save quite a few quid, be quick... http://www.hobb-e-mail.com/roco-10820-madness.html Tempted myself but as touchcab looks like it's going to continue I'm going to keep my lenz 100 set or I'd be going for it myself
  10. So while it was dry I got up on the roof to repair the damage to the felt Nailed the existing stuff back down And then covered the lot with sheets of Coroline bitumen roofing sheets Which fitted perfectly width wise, they overhang both the top and bottom of the existing roof by a couple of inches so should provide the protection I need Only problem being 4 sheets are 8" too short for the width of the shed! I think I have a spare sheet from when I did the garage roof a few years back, if not its back to build base for another sheet! Of course the kids thought the most amusing part of the job was when I knocked the ladder over and stranded myself on the roof, ended up phoning the house to come and be rescued with much mirth!
  11. Finally a job with a Decent start time, got coaching stock training today, best thing only 2 miles from home too, hopefully I'll get back in decent time to do a bit of modelling later as well, got to top coat a couple of network rail coaches I primed last night
  12. Some more pics of the station in its current state taken this morning I really hope something good happens to it soon, be a shame to see it go to real rack and ruin as I notice a few windows that aren't boarded up are smashed
  13. I was in coleham earlier having a site induction and I showed the depot boss the pics of betton st and he was very impressed with it! I can now officially take locos on the real place now!
  14. Some random phone shots from today Shrewsbury, london bound voyager My train to baglan Into Hereford And off it goes south I then went back to shrewsbury to meet someone to go and have a look at coleham depot, walked down to abbey Forgate to meet him, had to wait ages at this speed bump for permission to proceed!!
  15. this is one feature i like in the RTC canteen building, a fishpond that comes part way into the building! full of koi carp too
  16. not very often we go through 1, but with the line being bi-di from caldew bridge its quite a useful move anyway some from today, loco swap between bescot and derby with a couple of 97s bescot into derby and on to the RTC 31452 passing by with some MK2s swapped locos and headed back to bescot and that was that
  17. just thinking about stuff.... if you'd have said to me 3 years ago when i started at colas that i'd drive a 37, 56, 60, 66, 70 and 97 all in the space of a week i'd have told you you were not all there! amazing how things change in a short time and just one from this morning, 70809 in banbury, bought it down from bescot with 48 coalfish and another 70 on the rear
  18. I did see you and gave you a toot Couple of vids from this week
  19. and a few more pics, literally home for 2 hours before i head off to bescot started yesterday in shrewsbury just spotted myself in the reflection! then 37025 arrived off i went to besford hall where i sat outside the yard for over an hour then they let me in and it was decided to go up to the pad to collect the crane myself rather than waiting for freightliner to bring it back into basford hall and away to the PAD, a bit of shunting to move the errant crane out of the way of my traffic and job done ready to depart back through basford hall to drop the shunter off and pick up the paperwork and that was it to walsall
  20. Just one from today, all the other pics are in the big camera which I can't download til Sunday Today descended into chaos at basford hall by my train being blocked in by a failed crane Forum member 21Alizard takes the train away from Walsall
  21. I'm waiting to see this combo in deadmans lane
