  1. Flowers at East midlands parkway by jim scott, on Flickr
  2. no, not me on that, dont go to grantham anyway some from today, should have been traction conducting the DBSO over to lowestoft but the job got caped so we just ended up going peterborough to derby via oakham and melton mowbray, never done that line before, very interesting indeed peterborough east mids parkway and into derby and that was that, back to peterborough for my van and home, had a cracking run across the A47 through rutland, never been that way before but the scenery is beautiful around manton where you are right on top of the hill looking across the wide valley plain, you can even see manton viaduct at one point stretching out across the valley, almost looking at it from above, if i wasnt so keen to get home i'd have stopped for a picture
  3. some from this morning, derby shunt 37116 in colas colours, first time ive seen it close up 37175 this 73 is pristine silver on one side and the other is vinyled up to look 1/2 shabby and 1/2 pristine, couldnt get a clear pic as 37025 was in the way.... .....see then i took 37421 to etches park and walked back to the RTC there is a sheeted over meridian on etches from the incident at mountsorrel a few months back when it hit the unloading chute of the self discharge train at 100mph that was overhanging the mainline, the fibreglass cab shell has been removed completely from it Then off to peterborough for tomorrows job, ECML to finsbury park, NLL to stratford and then the GEML to chelmsford and back to liverpool st, should be an interesting day

  5. i know DRS not giving anything away for free by the look of it! not too long a night really, managed an hours sleep in carnforth due to the signalling going down at tebay so that took the edge off it a bit derby shunt tomorrow and traction conducting the rest of the week, peterborough, lowestoft, old oak common, liverpool st, marylebone, euston and newport amongst other places, dont think i'll be seeing home til thursday now!

  18. no not me, a was up north, here are a few pics from the last week or so carlisle, heading for wigton voyager rare old beast, a coal train! 325 unit heading south by now it was lashing down! pendolino and 185 70 heading north then my train came in, passing a colas 37 in the sidings 37423 and that was that until yesterday when i caught the train back south to warrington to work the logs to chirk, caught it in wigton where i had a nice surprise of 66431 dragging brand new 68023/24/25 from workington to kingmoor then my train arrived, 37402 leading into carlisle, again/ lashing down! 66304 37 departs for barrow while a 156 heads to newcastle and a 153 in the sidings and up to warrington to wait for my train (that i passed looped just outside lancaster) 60059 on a peak forest to dallam stone train 47580 and another WCR 47 empty biomass heading for liverpool manchester WAG express and my train arriving, loco swap last night so 60096 this time, first time on the logs i think? and thats yer lot
  19. No probs, I was tempted to call in there yesterday and see if the last 2 were still there, I only discovered jacksons late last year as they are tucked away in a back street in wigton, cracking little shop, lots on offer and as can be seen by the price of the HIAs (£21.99) very reasonable prices too, they had a 2nd hand Heljan EWS 58 last year for £90 which I was very tempted by but managed to resist!
  20. the new album 'super' is barmy, at first i thought 'what the hell is this' but the more i listen to it the more it grows on me, not a vocal album at all and having checked the BPM of the tracks on my DJ app they are mostly 120-130 BPM, in fact ive already mixed the album into one long mix for a bit of fun, (going to redo it though with the remix of pop kids instead of the original) i did something similar with electric which is one of my favorite PSB albums ( i have 300+ unique PSB tunes in my collection, lots of obscure dance mixes of stuff)
  21. go to options at the bottom of the screen then at the top you will see 2 opposite hands holding an iphone, click the unlit one and it will revert to right handed operation
  22. I asked the driver on the Cumbrian coast loco hauled earlier why they put a tail lamp on the train and it's because a signaller reported that he couldn't see the tail lamps lit on a loco a while back so since then they put one on
  23. I told the guy in jacksons models I'd put it on rmweb that he has some and to expect calls!!
  24. Jacksons models in wigton have the 4 green ones in stock (15:00, 5/4) I've nabbed the 2 white ones for my rake They have only ordered 6 in total so get a shift on if you want the last 4 (£21.99 each)
