  1. i used the hachette "your model railway" coaches to make a rake of WCR coaches, as you say, cant rail and railtec decals, job done (oh and new metal wheels) i keep umming and ahhing over this 37, do i join the club to get one or not? one day i think yes then i change my mind, thing is i know when i decide to get one they will have sold out
  2. spotted on the back of a bus earlier, my 12yr old thought it was hilarious!
  3. It is rather fun taking 37s to obscure terminus locations, Ive managed redditch and Stratford upon Avon this month amongst others! Had I not been rest day under the threat of death if I worked it next week I very nearly had a 'being conducted' job to wick and Kyle of lochalsh with a 37 DBSO combo
  4. that one was in the middle of the day, there is also an early northern one through toton that goes via beeston then takes the attenborough chord and through the slows at toton to trowell jn
  5. slight change of plan today, a DBSO test run instead of the logs, be rude not to really first move of the day was 37601 into the yard from the station which i promptly managed to smash the side window on, opened it to let some fresh air in and it dropped all the way down and shattered, a good start to the day! then onto the move, 37611 and DBSO to loughborough derby loughborough and back to derby walked back to the station where there were some gbrf 20s in the sidings, 4 different liveries 47812 passed through too, not the best pic as it was into the sun, 37800 was also there but we passed that at trent jn on the way back back to the logs tomorrow
  6. if its not one type of tractor with you its the other i used to like farm machinery but i dont any more........ .......i'm an ex tractor fan
  7. Excellent, a couple of lamposts on my layout are not working so that will do nicely!!
  8. No, the road sweeper is a keeper, never recieved a unimog though, think I got Eddie the engine in that delivery
  9. Not a clue, I just drive them!! Hope they paint them in europhoenix livery soon though, not driven one in those colours yet
  10. Yes we said that as we were going along! Some from last night, all round the midlands, again more pics on the prose camera that I'll upload whenever I get home! Started in shrewsbury and headed off to rugeley Trent valley with 37608 and 611 again From there back to Walsall, Bescot, smethwick and over "the dark side" to rowley Regis From there to tyseley via snow hill and moor st, back from tyseley to rowley via snow hill, rowley to Bescot via the soho chord, Bescot to bromford bridge and finally bromford bridge to derby via whitacre!! And I to derby, onto the RTC and shunted away Europhoenix 37800 was in the yard with a new 375 unit And that was that, and shock horror!!! on a freight turns this coming week, on the logs from carlisle to warrington
  11. I've sold a load of my stobart stuff that has no interest to me via eBay, not made anything on most of them but I was falling over the boxes at home! The only one that did do good money was the fire tender which I got £40 for The latest one sounds useful, look forward to seeing it
  12. and some from the proper camera in the wapping sidings in edge hill waiting at ditton
  13. some from yesterday evening, got a couple more on the proper camera that i'll upload later something a bit different, the NMT crewe to edge hill and back twice, first on the slows then on the fasts, was traction conducted on it so drove it, we were booked to go to lime st but unfortunatly i only sign as far as edge hill (from my fastline coal train days) crewe ditton and on the 2nd trip in the wapping sidings in edge hill nice to drive a train in triple figure speeds again, got it upto 110mph on the fasts between crewe and weaver jn, no real sensation of speed in it, just glided along effortlessly and braked beautifully, such a nice machine to drive
  14. had a bit of modelling mojo return this evening so decided to fit the points into the station siding the only thing is they are foul of the platform end slightly (but there was no other way of fitting them in) so when i fit the signals i'll have to fit a ground position light roughly where 37401 is sat and ensure nothing is sat in the platform when i move stuff out of the siding i need to sort this set of points out too, one of my DVTs has no dcc chip in so buzzes while on the track however i noticed it has been buzzing intermittently and the lights were going on and off as if power to the track was cutting out momenterally so i followed the track round and discovered the fishplate between the points was every so often giving a little spark but also the track at that point was very warm to the touch so something isnt right there (trains run normally on the layout though) its the furthest rail that is causing the problem looking at the rest of the layout i need to reglue some bits of pavement and renew bit of others were rain and condensation has caused problems hopefully i can get a bit more done now summer is here
  15. lets have an update, been a while but quite simply i haven;t been home to upload the pics! saturday was a bescot to banbury job that quite frankly i wasn't in the mood to take pics on but then monday it was working it back to bescot 2 trains ready for the off at banbury, just waiting for the possession to be lifted and away it went at landor st from there it was a van over to derby to do a DBSO turning move to loughborough via trent jn trent Jn unusual unit in derby, a northern 158 heading towards nottingham, all i can think is the erewash between chesterfield and trowell jn must have been shut anyway the next move that day was a UTU to crewe (again via trent to turn) so my trainee could get plenty of DBSO driving in crewe that was that for monday, yesterday was PLP train round the midlands started in saltley where 47739 passed by while running round the boston steel train then away to stratford via the north warwick line from there, back along the north warwick to tyseley where i changed ends and headed to fenny compton where i changed ends again from fenny to whitacre Jn via coventry and nuneaton a fine array of lights (old and LED type and a red horn! whitacre jn and back the other way to leamington Spa, waiting at Coventry leamington to stratford via claverdon this time ready to leave stratford back to hatton where i changed ends into Moor st and off to Tyseley for stabling 37608 Tyseley Depot by jim scott, on Flickr and that was it, NMT tomorrow conducting it to liverpool
  16. What about us who ordered one face to face in the museum, I wanted to pay on the day so it was done and dusted but instead had to hand over my credit card details on the order form for payment when they are in stock, will I have to pay the price as advertised when ordered or the new price? To be honest I may well cancel it anyway, get the rail express one instead
  17. i had the 37 and 47 a few years back but sold them on, wish i hadnt now as the 47 is a hard one to source now (he says as someone will no doubt put a link to somewhere with one for sale!)
  18. Just found a car for Mr Tilt in the museum at gaydon, a gas turbine rover!
  19. I've got to really tidy up the track on the layout, the inclines are all well and good but certain locos don't like them on the transition between the flat and incline, there is also a dip I've discovered on the plain line of the removable section too which the Dapol wagons don't like as they sometimes uncouple on the move when they ride over also the Bachmann 66 just loses electrical contact for a split second when it gets to it and glides to a stop then restarts without having to touch it, Almost like the driver has missed the vigilance! I've still got to re-solder the track on the end of the removable section so I can use both roads, I was planning on doing it today but my modelling mojo has gone at the mo, got so much I want to carry on with but in the end I just fancied a videoing session in the end (I'm impressed with the result from my new go-pro camera) Once I fit the extra set of points in the station area for the line between the bay and mainline then that will ready to start putting ballast down etc and continue with the station area detailing, finish the fuel tanks etc Also discovered earlier that my lenz handset has stopped working too, had nothing but trouble with it for ages with loose wires, it's been back to a+H for repair under warrentee 3 times, last time I had the cable swapped for a curly one but that's gone now too after only a couple of years (if that) I can still control the layout with touchcab but I can't change cv's etc so can't reset the zimo 37 chip or adjust the accelleration and braking on the 70 yet Of course work is really getting in the way at the mo too
