  1. Might be ringing you for the DRS one then mike
  2. Maybe the plan is to put them on the shelves of some of the lesser known retailers in the various areas, the type of place that gets overlooked on line, not a "box shifter" as it were, and the public are encouraged to go on a hunt to try and find them Think of a cross between Charlie and the chocolate factory and Pokémon GO! Cue lots of men of a certain age wandering round shopping centres looking puzzled at their phone when it vibrates to let them know there is a colas 'Rebecca nearby, while mumbling things like 'i only want a phone to call people' 'in my day we looked through the yellow pages to try and find a Hornby signal box'
  3. thats the plan, or get 3D scanned giving a high 5 and put them in adjacent cab windows
  4. ok, so how do i get a south eastern area rep's colas machine then? take it ive got to order one from say alton models or invicta that are in the area?
  5. must have just missed you last night if you were on the return tinsley working, i was coming round oxley curve from the north as it went over the viaduct
  6. some from this evening, 97s derby to shrewsbury via stafford, great fun at lichfield where the signaller run me out onto the fast and left a stopping pendolino service on the slow line, took him til rugeley to catch me up and pass me! derby and stafford and away to shrewsbury but too dark for pics
  7. i can think of nothing worse! dont fancy being the next jeremy spake or jane mcDonald
  8. as you may be aware Bachmann are releasing 37099 in the main range this year which i brilliant news, i did know about it at the naming ceremony but had to keep quiet about it regards the headlight on 37099, normally with models its a case of getting the tooling right to match the real thing however on 37099 the "car spot light" headlight was swapped for the one you see on the loco as it wasnt possible to tool the original light, also the end number 099 when it was originally painted had 37099 higher up that wrapping slightly round the nose end and that too was changed at as it made the printing of the model a lot more complex/difficult sometimes it really is a case of life immitating art (or models)
  9. i think them being singular is a good idea as you can potentially run them with one of the class 37s they have announced too, im only going to order one anyway (then probably buy them both!) although saying that a twinpack with a dummy loco would probably be quite useful
  10. oh dear, there goes my christmas bonus! DRS 20, europhoenix 37, west coast 47 and 66779 evening star and of course 37099 merl evans which i have know about for a while
  11. and yesterdays train, same one different loco, 37254 this time, derby to new st, new st to alrewas via sutton coldfiled, back to new st and back to derby, all at 30mph!! derby station ready to go an hour a a half later in new st! away to lichfield and alrewas and back from there again and away to derby where i left the train on the rtc, by the time i got back it was pretty foggy so some atmospheric pictures again
  12. some from last night, too cold for pics! banbury proper camera pics coventry 37254 tonighht around birmingham, gonna take my tripod and proper camera i recon
  13. Thanks for that, now what's your address for me to get it sent to to save me the trouble of doing one myself! If it is true then at least if they are used on the IM trains they don't need the HEP (ETH) running so it will be a bit quieter for the drivers
  14. ive got bigger! that one is my trackpin hammer
  15. Made some outriggers for the high level bit this morning, secured with dowels and PGA glue, probably going to add some more as I extend the scenic bit out at the door end of the shed at a later date Then as I had the power tools out I cut the bridge area out So the bridge is now floating And mocked up with offcuts of brick paper and the wills flexi girder from the old removable section The wall bit will extend right down to the low level as it firsts nicely between the mainline and goods line Next thing i really need to do is crack on with the wiring in the hidden sidings then I can secure the top boards properly and continue with the track laying, I've got a DCC points detector module to fit for the hidden points as well as the point motors but those can be done below baseboard level, I do have this evening to maybe make a start in those jobs but I've really got to be in the mood to solder
  16. couple from today, on the shunt again pair of 08s, unfortunatly the grey one wasnt working or id have driven that so we had to drag it with 417, i put it in a position so my dad can see it tomorrow morning when he passes the yard en route to long eaton as he needs to 'cop' it! and after that it was a shunt to put a 97 in the shed, that was it piccie wise
  17. A chip 'butty' is chips between 2 slices of bread not in a bap
  18. Dunno if you need to be on twitter for this but holy c**p, one very lucky driver!! https://twitter.com/itsnotgonewell/status/811879174684241920
  19. Back to it today, more road learning the cross city line Lichfield city station is a very impressive building of course at one time it was the junction to Walsall, you can see the route indicator to take you toward the old line above the 323 unit Did a couple of trips to and from Aston then popped into Birmingham to do something at moor st, 68011 was sat there waiting to head off to london Then back to Lichfield to get the train back to Crewe, saw a few things passing through while I was waiting, the iphone isn't the best at capturing things moving at 125 mph! Desiro Couple of class 90s, this is a still from a video And a couple of videos https://youtu.be/4B-uAm5aQYE https://youtu.be/v-BEIGFOjy8
  20. I used the spray mount glue, not ideal but quick drying as opposed to using ova as I've used in the past, a different brand of spray mount I used in the past melted the polystyrene a bit but the Bostik one seems to have worked ok, on the original bits of incline I also laid plaster bandage stuff but I didn't bother this time, will have to see what pitfalls I get when trains are running proper!
