  9. Having a new kitchen in this week so after 5 days of total disruption including plumbers, electricians, kitchen fitter, Plasterer's I decided a few hours away from the house work was in order, up to my ears in woodwork so I decided to do a bit more on Mentor Look no kitchen... So to the shed, which by this time next week will have electricity when the electrician comes back to wire it, and the garage up I masked off the top of the yellow and filled various gaps in the roof area with squadron putty And rubbed it back once dry Then gave the roof a coat of grey, ok I've got to add all the detail and pantograph etc but I wanted it to look like I'd done something for my time! Also added black to the ends and fitted the Hornby gangway to one end As I say detail to add to the top, pantograph to order from Pete (when I have some spare cash, bloody kitchen!) then maybe have a look at doing something with the interior Hopefully mentor may be in derby RTC tomorrow, if so I'll try and grab a few pics while I'm on the shunt
  10. Some from today, 56105 Basford hall to Washwood Heath Crewe Washwood Heath on the mainline, I had to walk back to operate the ground frame here, about 1/4 mile from the signal to the frame and then back again! And going up the hill into the yard, is got down to put the frame back and close the gates behind me! And that was it, no pics from inside the gate as it's a private site but I really must get some pics of the building exteriors before they are knocked down for HS2

  17. I passed through Bala at 08:00 on Sunday morning en route to llwyngwril to pick up some furniture from my mums house and I remarked to my dad we would call in to the exhibition on the way back but we somehow got a spurt on and ended up passing back through bala at 09:30 before the show started and didn't end up stopping, shame as I would have also liked to see how my old high school looked now 25 years after I left!

  20. thank you SOOOO much for the info about new hadley halt, ive signed that route for 12 years and no one, and i mean no one has been able to explain what the 2 random lamposts in the middle of nowhere were there for, we had a theory it was for a crossover or something like that but a quick google search shows they were for the foot crossing between the stagered platforms, i'll be honest i didnt even know there used to be a station there mystery solved, link to 'disused stations' website page for the halt sent to all of my drivers who also puzzled over the lamposts!
