  1. That strange looking injector sat on our mantelpiece for years while my dad restored Alice in the garage, I’ll ask him tomorrow what it came off originally
  2. i bought the rails one about 12 months back as an "it'll do" to put on my colas test trains despite being obviously wrong with its wonky arrows and old OHLE flashes etc it will be going up on ebay soon as ive ordered the current version from mike at C+M models
  3. Derby blockade, barely recognisable at the south/west end compared to a month ago platform 6 is located on the old carriage sidings, the empty platform 5 next door is the old platform 6, where the canopy ends on there is the old bay platform 5, now filled in Platform 7 is the old ‘pilot road’ into etches Park, it’s now fully signalled with mainline signals at the end of the platform, still leads to the depot but also now curves round towards london on the alignment of the ‘neutral line’ with the next signal being on the mainline just before the RTC entrance 2 x170 units in platforms 3 and 4 which are the turnback platforms for local trains coming to and from Nottingham and Birmingham, again you can see where the old bay platform used to be And away to Toton I went, left the train in the meadow sidings and walked back to the car park for my taxi Derelict 60s Was hoping to get some pics of diverted passenger services through Toton while I was waiting for the taxi but I only managed one of a voyager
  4. i'll be in derby a fair bit, there tomorrow as it happens, blockade train out to toton, then i'll be doing stuff like the s-stock and when i learn it stud farm etc
  5. really there only needs to be one person in the cab this day and age as for cab interiors there are different variations of those too, you have the "classic" pedestal cab and the "euro spec" version with a wrap round centre console (i drove my first one on saturday, 66747) then you could get really pedantic and have 2 different height "pedestals" (gsm-r console added), extra soundproofing 2nd mans side added externally there are also 2 types of handbrake chain
  6. yep, thats me so gutted i didn't buy a some Bachmann castle cement wagons when they were on the discount table in ian allen for £20 a piece a few years back
  7. you load the wagons yourself with the 66, i noticed there were 2 shunters on site though in working condition, one is called 'chug chug' the other was in the shed
  8. RMWeb members both ends of the trip (Almost) mark, wednesday im on the irvine tanks but thats a morning run past horrocksford
  9. If you need another bodyshell to cut grilles from give me a shout, I’ve got a dozen of em here! I was looking at doing the same, still might, there are certain grilles on a 2nd body you could graft onto your body shell, one on the 88 in particular looks to be similar to one of the 68 grilles and hatch but mounted the opposite way up
  10. First solo voyage today, Landor st to clitheroe Foggy morning in brum Euro spec 66747 And away to clitheroe, run round in the siding and set back into the cement plant, once unloaded the train was left there until it gets collected later in the week, pic taken from the public road Derby blockade on Monday
  11. 37025, you beauty! Time to sell in my rails LTD Ed version for the up to date one What sales region is it?
  12. 2 x 60 at the dock today! 60087 went out for a trip today 60047 on the other set
  13. i think its because its a short signal (due to the sighting with the canopy) located on the platforn end next to the exit ramp the motor is above to stop the public 'meddling fingers' getting caught in the mechanism when its moving! also the machynlleth signal pic your not sure about, yes it is but looking back towards the station from dovey jn direction
  14. i dont use icloud backups however i did back it up to my home computer last week so when i get home ill restore that back up to it i should rename this thread again "big jims adventures with iphones"
  15. ill check that out but it was dead when it went missing and hasnt been powered up or connected to the internet otherwise it would have come up on find my iphone and id have got a notification, but ill still check anyway, thanks
  16. just had a phone call from my wife, the phone has mysteriously turned up at the holiday park in the DJ box, in a place that half a dozen of us checked and checked again both on the night it went missing and the day after so i suspect it may have been 'returned' just unblocked the sim and i'm waiting on the handset being un-blacklisted so i can use it again, also now got the inconvenience of sending the (thankfully unopened) insurance replacement back and getting my £100 excess back from the bank but at least ive got it back
  17. i called into pendon yesterday as i was a couple of hours early for work, thoroughly enjoyable as usual, i think the exhibition at the entrance was new since i last went, i think it was being set up last time, and it gave a fascinating insight into the history of the museum the vale scene was breathtaking as usual but what was the first train i noticed, an LNER steam loco at the head of a rake of GWR coaches which was explained by a guide as a traction trial swap between regions, it wasn't unnoticed by others too!
  18. gone a bit dull this topic at the mo, same job this week, training up at the port but ive got no camera to hand until i get the new phone, 60047 again but 60087 has made its way north too, minus its 'clic sargent' nameplates couldnt even record my first 'proper' job yesterday, didcot to landor st with 66738 "huddersfield town" with a scrap train to sheffield
  19. finally get to work a train later, one with a gbrf loco on! going to didcot to work the swindon scrap back up to landor St. probably no pics as some scumbag nicked my iphone on saturday night while i was dj'ing in the club at the holiday camp, been a right royal pain in the bum but ive got a new one on the way thanks to the insurance, pretty pointless nicking it really as within 5 mins i'd locked it, tracked it and immobiled both the phone and sim so its worthless, once its powered back up (it had died) i will get its location via find my iphone which should it come live in the holiday camp wont be too hard to pin point which caravan its in, the police told me if it does to call them and they will come and retrieve it, although im under no illusions im ever going to see it again!
  20. Sounds like a plan, I think I’m up here next week too!
  21. Had a go on the grabby machine earlier, won a Hornby class 60!
