  1. I’m actually in Coventry tonight on a possession typically next week I only have one day of the bescot to Toton tripper other than that it’s mountsorrel and and IM training
  2. Just tripped the breakers and let me know on the in cab computer
  3. My sister had one on a H reg and it was also stolen off the drive a couple of times!
  4. same with the underground livery pair, hence the light blue roof on 66718
  5. How come the show isn’t showing in the events calendar on here? only spotted this post by chance or I’d have missed it Planning on visiting Sunday, doing a possession train on Saturday night though so will have to see how tired I am!
  6. The other thing to consider regards the locos on Roberts road in the article is they have different “former liveries” too despite them all being ‘standard’ GBRf now 66705 Union Jack livery 66720 metronet 66725, 66726, 66728, first group barbie blue 66744 colas 66748 grey eurospec 66787 EWS
  7. Interesting article, still not convinced by the lemon yellow end on 66740 though compared to prototype pics, even pics of it having been freshly named/cleaned don’t show an obvious yellow patch from what I’m reading of the ‘conclusion’ of the piece is we are going to put lemon yellow ends on them and if you want a ‘workworn’ or ‘dated’ loco (not saying weathered) with a less obvious yellow panel do it yourself
  8. But it discriminates against employing LGBT, gender fluid, vegan, heterosexual, white or black people (with beards!) so they will probably start a Twitter hate campaign against it!
  9. I’ve only ever had One traction motor flashover and that was on a class 67 in the snow i had been driving through freshly settled loose, non compacted snow which just blew up under the train as I went along covering the traction motors with snow and ice before going ‘flash bang’
  10. Another week another trip to toton and back from bescot just for a change, 66722 66 panorama Ready to leave with auto hoppers and side tippers And back at bescot, one of GBRf’s hired 08s drags a 66 and wagons from the up side to the down, I do like to see an 08 hard at work! same job again tomorrow
  11. Had a play about with some track earlier, first up had a look at the hidden sidings, I was going to put them across both both boards but it looks like I may well just put them along one wall 2 fans of 3 sidings And with 5 log wagons parked up those sidings will be below a high level board, just use them to stage full trains instead of having to put them away into boxes when I fancy a change of stock as I had to do in the shed, if I can make them longer I will, my longest freight train is 10 megaboxes which I’ve not measured up yet The line at the front of the board is going to be a single line ‘heritage line’ that I was planning on having as an end to end set up but I can get it as a full circuit connecting line from the storage sidings/heritage line to the high level area which will only be 2’ higher at the inner end as opposed to 3 1/2’ above the hidden sidings im hoping to put a hinged board across the door then once past that the mainline will hopefully rise from 2’ back to 3 1/2 high then across a 1m or so long viaduct past the window, and rejoin the higher level board the heritage line will pass under the mainline to take the outer track then pass back under the mainline viaduct to regain the inner track im then hoping to put a small part of a Hilly town on the left hand side of the High level board before the line heads into the open countryside across the back wall (the only reason being I can’t put anything high etc on the back wall is its also the projector screen area! im going to do the heritage line using peco bullhead track and points, the bit in front of the connecting line is most going to be a small shed and carriage sidings The next thing I need to do is extent the baseboard towards the door on both sides then have a look at the high level board
  12. Funnily enough I was going to say the same thing yesterday too I’ve had 2 VW Phaetons with dodgy DSG boxes
  13. Well after the fanbelt snapped on the red mini last week I’ve had good news that it didn’t cause any damage so it will be back on the road soon however it needs 3 new tyres (I knew it needed 1 at least), also needs a new brake calliper as well as the planned brake discs and pads all round the cooper is back now so I have time to get that work done over the next month or so had a day on it yesterday, new DAB stereo and upgraded speakers, swapped the rear badges from silver to black and added a union jack to the sunroof, it’s perforated material so I can still see out, nice and easy to fix in place as long as you keep the roof wet as you position it then squeegy our the water and any bubbles, it helped that it lashed down as I did the first bit yesterday!
  14. A few from Thursday, forgot to upload them, Toton tripper again with 66722 bescot Toton Sparkly 97 and 20s GBRf and DB 66s And some from last night, possession at Winsford tornado propelling into Basford hall after turning on the triangle, note the white lights on the coach, I like that! My train for the night in the centre with tornado lurking And off it went And this morning at Winsford, 66722 for a change! another week of the bescot tripper coming up, no doubt with 66722 again!
  15. I can get rid of the ads on my iPhone by switching the theme from ‘RMWeb 2019 Default’ to ‘Default’ at the bottom of the page (tbh I prefer the default look anyway!)
  16. But its like a car crash, you don’t want to look but you just can’t help it
  17. Dont drive to Dundee barefoot gorging on toblerone and buy the rights to K9 the robotic dog on casters off DR Who!
  18. Couple from yesterday, was a mad rush about as my car broke down on the way to work and I ended up getting in 2 hours late! Toton with 66758 on the beeston to toton tripper Our train back and into bescot same again today with the same loco but hauling a Kirov crane this time
  19. the posts on here make it far clearer than the announcement IF WE ARE CORRECT in assuming its just to prevent someone ripping off DJ's cad but i suspect it may be far wider reaching its this bit of the gubbins in the announcment that gets me....... Well, if read correctly it could be a complete end to duplication of models, as those who IP them first will literally be in the ‘driving seat’. Obviously there would be nothing wrong with anyone producing a rival ‘Mk6 Flange Express XR1’ model, but there would be problems with producing one which would, if you were trying to be as accurate as possible, infringe on others’ IP and the percentage it has to be different by the allowed amount specified by HMG, for it not to encroach on a registered IP of the ‘Mk6 Flange Express XR1’. Obviously there would be nothing wrong with anyone producing a rival ‘Mk6 Flange Express XR1’ model, but there would be problems with producing one which would, if you were trying to be as accurate as possible, infringe on others’ IP and the percentage it has to be different by the allowed amount specified by HMG i get the protecting your own work side of things if you have developed a revolutionary coupling/drivetrain/lighting system, id be pretty narked if id have invested time and money into something only for someone to rip it off from my drawings but how the buggery flip do you make a loco bodyshell a "certain percent different" as to not infringe on IP, shove a few windows here and there that aren't on the real thing, a few extra exhaust ports, piglet retarders on the roof, pizza oven in the grille the whole thing puts me in mind of this.........
  20. wouldnt it be a pisser if hornbachpol tomorrow announced that they have cad already produced for every single loco thats ever run in the uk since the birth of the railways and at 17:00 today got the lot registered with HMG
  21. the way im seeing it, if i quickly knock some cad this evening up for, oooh lets say the new class 69 and get it registered with the government it will stop anyone else producing one in model form? as an aside to that random loco class i've chosen, if externally it the real thing still looks exactly like a 56 then how would that work regards registering for IP as a 56 has already been done by a number of manufacturers
  22. It’s a post preservation job, if you look closely at the side it says ‘chinnor’ instead of derby
  23. The header tank cap blew off en route so hopefully that may have helped prevent damage, went about 4 miles like that I recon with the gauge slightly above 1/2
