I’ve got a 100m cable I’ve been looking at routing to my garage but it’s the physical ‘getting it there’ that’s the headache, if they do a waterproof/weatherproof outdoor cable then I could run it via the plastic drainage channel I have around the edge of my patio to the garage then have it enter at the same point as the electricity supply going straight into the existing WiFi booster but having the Xbox, PS4, etc running from the Ethernet Ports on it, Amazon echos, phones etc could then run off the WiFi the only other issue I will soon have is when I wire up my lenz 100 WiFi connector as that will put a different WiFi network in the garage and I will need the phone to connect to that when the layout is on

I’ve got the same set up, spur off the house to the garage but Into a separate consumer unit , power lines don’t work in my experience, but having read some of the above posts I may have another try I’ve got a netgear WiFi extender, a Stand alone Unit that is in the garage and extends the WiFi from the house, we have sky broadband with sky Q boxes sending out WiFi, it gave a good enough signal to be able to go on line in the garage with the Xbox and download games to it but very slowly compared to a wired connection in the house, it does however connect to Xbox live etc and amazon without issue I did have a small plug in extender which while it worked was prone to the signal dropping out regularly

Funnily enough I was thinking the same, having ordered and downloaded the small modern station I was wondering how to get the passengers from the roadway down to the platforms!

I’ve ended up ordering one, don’t model O gauge but will make a nice display item N in one of my cabinets

Apparently If you live down south tonight (south coast) keep an eye on the local news for a nice bit of GBRf related news If someone can tell us what BBC Region the south coast is we in other parts of the country may be able to tune in too cant say much more than that -

Class 37 Photos...
big jim replied to class"66"'s topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
about time too, it’s starting to look really scabby now with bits of body filler falling off, it was very nice when colas first got it, this was the first time I drove it.... it’s a horrible loco to try and photograph at night in it’s current guise, this was the last time I drove it a few weeks back in fenchurch St -

Freightliner 47 ballast drop last night, didn’t make it as far as iron horses house though! 66754 one end 66747 at the other apart from one job Wednesday night a week off coming up -
Had a quick 1/2 hour in the garage before work, mocking up bits and bobs again I was thinking about the oil terminal I had planned for the corner then realised I’ve got a lot more ‘nuclear traffic’ than oil wagons so I thought about turning the area into a holding and storage sidings for flasks etc as I have (I think) 5 FNAs, the drs support coaches, 6 PFAs as well as the accurascale big flask wagon in order if I swap the bridge for the double track one I have I can run the branchline to the left and have the siding entrance to the right then have the branchline climb a little bit higher to the terminal single platform station while the siding continues to a head shunt at the lower level, line to the left could be flask unloading facility, loco shed for internal shunter next to it and a fan of sidings to the right Will Cut down the high level board which is sitti a good 3 inch higher than before single platform on the mountain plateau then I had an idea of what about a fernicular railway down to the bottom of the gorge! The other thing I’ve done is bought the scale scene folly kit download, instead of the big castle the other side of the gorge I may put it in the branch line side but higher up again on another plateau, not sure yet, I also downloaded extra matching brick paper to make town walls should I decide to leave it as originally planned and have it the other side of the gorge ive got a week off work now apart from one night turn so hopefully I can crack on with getting the remaining boards secured and put some of these ideas into motion

Garage Insulation Question
big jim replied to Delorean1984's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
My conversion changed the use of the garage to a ‘habitable space’ with full building regs in place, I could if I desired add running water and turn it into a living space, in hindsight I probably should have run pipes in there for a sink and washing machine but that would have meant digging up the bodies under the patio, sorry digging up the patio -

I’ve only had one loco with Disposable gloves carried in the cab however we have them at strategic points such as fuel plants and terminals etc thete are wipes in the cabs though, every loco has those so we can wipe down the controls etc when we get on or off, similarly I carry some in my bag for the hire cars Loco cans are being deep cleaned and disinfected with a solution that supposedly lasts a month, don’t think I’ve had one of those locos yet either as I’ve been stuck with the same few over the last month anyway, a couple more from yesterday deserted crewe unique avanti voyager passing landor st and my train to manchester possession tonight between crewe and Nantwich, no doubt I can annoy @Iron Horse by trundling past his house at 5mph dropping ballast
