  1. Plenty of pics of NR DBSOs on my Flickr feed I’ve got a brass template for PH designs kit doing nothing here if it’s any use to you, helps to line up the windows and handrail holes etc
  2. Yours looks cracking now the window frames are in! im very tempted to get one now, keep it unmotorised and put it between my colas barrier coaches as a unit drag like you I’ve not got a layout set up and running yet though
  3. Back to work last night, first night of 4 to trafford park again caught the train to Duddeston, in case you haven’t seen it they have dug up the foundations to a railway roundhouse on the site of the HS2 station, quick pic as I passed by my train in landor st Ran early to crewe so managed a few pics In the last of the light while stretching my legs at basford hall Run round at trafford park and off at Tamworth 3 more nights of it then a weekend off
  4. Guess who? a somewhat thinner me aged 18 sat on my dad’s quarry hunslet in Boston lodge during one of its first streamings after its rebuild in our garage amongst other places

    Panic buying

Loads of flour in morrisons last week, big sacks of it and smaller 1kg of bread flour that looks to have been decanted into ‘deli counter’ type bags and being sold for about £1 a bag, my wife bought a few bags of it for her baking
  6. I’ve set the Xbox one back in the man cave on the big screen, Dom has bought (well done lots of chores to earn the money for) the new fallout 74 update game which he’s enjoying playing I downloaded a cracking little puzzler to the switch called unravelled 2, enjoying that the youngest has found A Lego dimensions set that we bought a couple of years back and never played and set that up on his xbox 360, that’s cost me a fortune this week buying characters for it, lucky they are quite cheap now on eBay and Amazon gonna have to set the PS4 up again soon, that’s been unplugged for a good 6 months after we took it off Dominic due to it affecting his school work and I found it in a cupboard in the spare room while having a tidy up last week
  7. thats a shame, i was tempted by the 117 auction too, hopefully a rerun of the other items after lockdown may bring a few more quid in too
  8. Charity auction £155? is that the grand total for the Bachmann 117, photo course auction?
  9. matt Berry is brilliant, there isn’t much he’s in that I don’t like but I just couldn’t get into ‘what we do in the shadows’ don’t get me wrong it was so funny but I got about 3/4 of the way through series one then just lost interest, I probably should revisit it again, one of my favourite bits was where they get the head vampire ‘Peter’ out of his sleep and he breaks the 4th wall and looks straight at the camera asking what was going on! ‘year of the rabbit’ is good, not as good as ‘toast of london’ which is just ridiculously daft A good one on sky arts is psychobitches, series 2 is currently on sky on demand, some of the best British actresses and actors playing women visiting a therapist, if you ever want to see ted robbins as Les Dawson as Emily Pankhurst or reese shearsmith as old mother Shipton then give it a watch
  10. Assuming you mean the ones on either mentor or the NMT I think I cut them off some broken Dapol OHLE masts I had in the scrap box, drilled them through with a tiny pin drill, been a long time since I made it even looked at either of the models in question!
  11. I didn’t realise you could get the clearance with them sat on the top of the board, as I say I was going to raise them a centimetre or so to get the rail clearance at the hinge end but hopefully seeing your pic I won’t have to
  12. That’s a great example, the river will hopefully look more rural than that part of the weaver though!
  13. couldnt get into Brickleberry at all but trailer park boys is awesome! we have a static caravan on a ‘trailer park’ we have great fun seeing various characters on site, my youngest is ‘bubbles’ The eldest is ‘Ricky’ my wife is ‘Julian’ (never without a drink) The entertainment manager is ‘Jim’ his entertainment staff are ‘Cory and Trevor’ and I’m ‘Randy’!
  14. Just binge watched ‘After life’ wasn’t what I expected at all, I Thought it was an American series but no, set in the UK with a cast of familiar faces. typical Ricky gervais comedy, laughing one minute, sharp intake of breath the next and crying the next, not seen anything as good as this since he did ‘derek’ if you don’t mind a bit of strong swearing then give it a try My youngest who’s now 10 has got into the simpsons and is downloading lots of the older episodes to the sky box, nice to see some of those again too mod course no binge watch thread would be complete without “tiger king” with joe exotic which my wife loves, I don’t get it myself having seen a couple of episodes, she also loves ru-Paul’s drag race which admittedly does have its moments!
  15. that’s the plan, I’ve ordered some long thin hinges from amazon that will sit on small blocks on top of the boards, just waiting for them to arrive sometime next week and I’ll get them fitted, also waiting on spray mount glue for the cork and some big round dowel to cut into outer legs for the raised sections so everything is pretty much on hold now until that lot arrives
  16. I’d happily say what it’s called but I don’t know if it’s public knowledge yet so don’t want to get in trouble with work, when it is revealed no doubt there will be some ‘meh!’ reaction anyway but it’s a nice name in my opinion Anyway to keep on topic I’ve phoned GBRf maintainance and asked them to remove a couple of the axle boxes on it, and put some glue round the nameplates when fitted (ok that’s unfair, as my hattons 66 arrived in perfect nick!)
  17. My mum and dad had a friend in Llwyngwril who was big into CB in the 80s, he also used to have the gear to transmit TV from his house to a friend across the bay in the pwllheli area and vice versa my elder brothers also used to have CBs in their bedroom in the 80s (they didn’t have cars!) my dad however had his police radio system in the house!
  18. Looked at the removable section again, I mocked up a dropping section, a hinged out section and a lifting section i think I’m going to go with the lifting section as the hinged open one interfered with the sofa, the drop down one is still a possibility if the lifting bit doesn’t work first it was securing the legs and corner fillet baseboard securely The removable section is wide enough for 5 or 6 tracks now, it will have raised hinges on small blocks on the right hand side so as to not damage the track ends when lifted to open I may run the dual gauge track on to the removable section and put the splitting track on there, from there the NG track will need to climb up back to the high level again so I’ll have to put the start of an incline up on the removable section but I can’t see it being too much of a problem Next up, what do we think of this idea for the stone viaduct, have a central cast iron section over the river bed area, the sides are generic so the oval top railings are too big for OO so I’d cut them off and replace with something smaller (and obviously move the sides up to the top) Opens out the view of the bigger viaduct
  19. The interhub name won’t be going back on (and yes I do know what it’s going to be named instead)
  20. To the uninitiated this just looks like a list of numberplates can anyone explain it to me?
