  1. Slightly off topic but well done on being the most viewed video news on the BBC today! shame they called you ‘very sad’ but I suppose that’s your wife’s doing! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-sussex-52487203/eastbourne-man-builds-railway-in-his-garden
  2. You obviously never got a look in the basement then? It’s not far off that to be fair, wouldn’t surprise me if someone found the ark of the covenant in there!
  3. Anyway, according to the Hornby thread the Ltd Ed model has already sold out in a couple of hours since it was announced, that alone has provided a £20k donation to NHS Charities, let’s be happy for that news at least
  4. Don’t make me trot out the father ted memes!
  5. The frames were from a forum member in here @Wolf27 iirc they were for the modified ‘mentor’ etches sides he did and I’m sure I got the last set off him (apologies to wolf27 if it wasn’t you, it was 5 years ago I bought them!)
  6. FFS, it’s a thread about a model train!
  7. I don’t know if it came with them and my dad took them off or vice versa
  8. Really! not the time and place for this discussion surely?
  9. Certainly is, he got it 2nd hand from a garage on sealand road funny things you remember, a friend in primary school, his dad had A400STU on a white MG Metro turbo!
  10. do we know what service it’s on? i cheekily asked John smith if it could go on 4M51/4O23 so it could do a nice long run for its first trip (Southampton to Manchester) and also I could get some pics of it! as for the model, I’ll be first in the queue if Bachmann open the order books on one, do they have this shell with the correct side windows though, not that it would bother me that much tbf?
  11. Cheers, I’ll get one ordered this week I recon any chance if a pic of the underside of yours, especially how the bogies are attached and pivot
  12. Well I’ll put my hands up and say the info i had was a red herring, I was told it was going to be ‘Nightingale’
  13. There is another pic of it on the north wales railway website latest update http://www.nwrail.org.uk/nwnews.htm plus some nice Cambrian freight pics from the 70s
  14. Which kit did you buy off Ebay, was it the full kit with under frame detail and etched window frames etc at £155

  16. Can’t decide whether this is a modern classic or old car, my dads pride and joy back in the mid 80s, ford escort XR3, 40 years old if it was still about today
  17. King George V passing through Gobowen April 1975 The lady with the baby is my mum, rhe baby is a 2 month old me! been a year this week since my mum died and I was having a look through some old albums and this pic jumped out at me, as my dad always reminds me, that was the first ever steam train you saw, (it was actually coming up gresford bank earlier in the day though) And clan line too must have left a lasting impression on me!
  18. Those hachette coaches are great for messing about with silly projects like UTUs, I did 999605 ‘UTU 2’, still not finished it though as for accuracy, mines not 100% but I am doing the inside prototypically and illuminating it etc whenever I get round to it that was 3 years ago and I’ve not touched it since!

    Panic buying

Vegetarian, ooooooh, Could you have some wafer thin ham? (whenever I hear someone say they are a vegetarian, that’s the first thing that comes to my mind)
  20. I couldn’t get by without amazon prime! for what you pay it’s damn good value for TV, music and deliveries on top of that, I must admit I keep forgetting I’ve got prime TV though as we have sky Q with Netflix so that comes up as default when we go to the menu on the TV, prime is there but in the app! it’s shocking just what I do have for on demand and subscriptions, off the top of my head i have BBC iPlayer, itv hub, channel4, uktv, Apple TV which are all free, we then have subscriptions for sky with Netflix, prime family, Spotify family, tidal music, readly, Xbox live, PlayStation network, Nintendo switch on line family, scary how much all those cost but all are very well used between the 4 of us in the house To top those off there are more subscriptions on my phone too, such as Tom Tom go for the sat nav on the mobile (it has offline maps so you don’t suddenly go off map when there is no mobile signal) then we have photo sites like Flickr and photobucket! no wonder I’m always skint anyway back to TV I’m going to finish afterlife tonight on the pad during downtime at trafford park, only 4 episodes to go
  21. Are you getting one as one of the respray brigade for deadman’s lane Mick?
