  1. Just bought V rally 4 for the switch, on offer for £13, not tried it yet though, 10’mins after buying it an email from Microsoft, this months games with gold, yep, V rally 4! got a possession sit on tonight so I might take the switch with me, not something I normally do as I have the iPad with readly and RMWeb etc but I really should get some more use out of the switch
  2. It’s a bit of a weird one, Yes the current situation is effecting things but last week it had 2 days of very lightly loaded trains then 2 days of pretty much full in both directions got it again next week for 4 days, possession before that though early tomorrow morning in Wembley
  3. cue BBC Antiques roadshow in 2070. Please queue here for porcelain, here for grandfather clocks, here for sideboards, here for watches and here for Hornby NHS 66s! Mine will be on display with the rest of my 66s but probably not run
  4. The one thing that gets me is the lack of disabled access between the platforms, I’m surprised there is no lift there or accessable footbridge
  5. There were 2 of them, one Park Royal and and a w&m ive relieved Hereford of the Hadrian bar The lionheart set arrived too, looks stunning if somewhat out of place! Opposite ends of the spectrum on display Back to bargains at Hereford weathered EWS steel carrier, £19.99 http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=369_370_377_386_389&products_id=11725&zenid=6536ba58fc40e896b2c109c993678dc7
  6. My brother in law works for Elon musk out in LA, my sister met him during a family day at the office, she said the office was weird, People sat on bouncy balls instead of chairs, ping pong tables in the office space etc!
  7. My brother in law works for him at space X, my sister met him during a family day at the office, she said the office was weird, People sat on bouncy balls instead of chairs, ping pong tables in the office space etc! that whole millennial douche bag beard vibe
  8. i was on the brink of clicking buy it now this week then Hornby announced 66731 and a couple of bargains came up via the bargain hunters thread so ive had to put it on hold again!
  9. to be fair its his own wife who describes him as sad oh and he’s a new member in here too @Momodem
  10. they are like chalk and cheese! amazing what a difference the advances in 3D printing produce, and the window frames look sooooo much better on the blue/grey one height wise though which would you say is sitting better? i wish id have got the ltd ed 150/2 hattons did in liverpool PTE livery, drove a few of them but when it was released £99 seemed a lot of money for a DMU
  11. it’s certainly a box that I didn’t manage to sneak past my wife that’s for sure!
  12. I’ve made my feelings about the clap along known further back in the thread but last night I was actually looking forward to participating as I was in a class 66 with a nice loud horn, normally at 8pm I’m around bushbury jn waiting my time so lots of houses around to join in with, anyway last night got a cracking run, passed bushbury st 19:15 then at 20:00 I was sat on the edge of basford hall yard with not a house in sight! Thought I’d better not sit there alone blasting the horn incase someone nearby thought I was a train in distress!
  13. I believe he has said he would like to Still be known as captain.
  14. Typically I’ve had a week of the trafford park job with 66784 and what do they do a couple of hours after I get off it, they put 66731on it! (it’s not staying on though, it’s only doing Eastleigh to the Southampton docks and back for a TV news feature)
  15. probably not a lot but look at the publicity it’s generated for Hornby in less than 24 hours! sales of other Hornby items off the back of it will probably give them a few ‘bobs’
  16. nah, we’ve just been distracted by other shiny things...
  17. I didn’t even notice this was the hattons thread! maybe talk should move over to the dedicated Hornby NHS 66 thread
  18. well if Bachmann Announce they will produce one I will sell my Hornby one on for what I paid for it, watch this space!
  19. Last day of it, ran late so got relief at rugeley instead, not long after I got off the sleeper train headed south

  21. And I’ve just emailed your daughters excellent suggestion to John smith hopefully he may respond to you directly in due course the thing with the Hornby one is it’s priced as such that non enthusiasts may decide to buy one as a reminder of a time when Capt. Tom was a shining light in the doom and darkness, then you have NHS workers who may want it too, those type of buyers aren’t going to be interested in working lights, sound etc and of course there is the brand name, Hornby is still a ‘household’ name to certain generations, non modellers will see that familiar red box and name and see it as a bit of nostalgia having not bought a model train in decades, heck it may even be a shot in the arm that the hobby needs to attract young blood into it, wonder how many people will be off to newly reopened diy shops this weekend to buy wood for a new baseboard to build a layout between now and autumn to run Capt. Tom on! I personally am going to take the chance on Bachmann releasing their version of it, not in any rush, even if it’s next year, if I’m wrong in my assumption and miss out on the Hornby one then I’ll not be too upset as the Hornby one would only end up in the display case anyway rather than using it as I do with all my Ltd Ed locos EDIT: no doubt I’ll end up driving the real 66731 soon then not be able to get the Hornby one, maybe I should try and get one!
  22. absolutely fascinating loco, funnily enough I found a couple of pics of it taken from crewe heritage centre viewing platform while on test in 1988? I’ll scan them tomorrow but in the meantime here are a couple I’ve already scanned one loco that is sadly missing in RTR form
  23. Yes thanks from me too, NCB class 14 for me so much more I could have clicked on if I had the money, Heljan railbus and woodhead electric standing out too
  24. at the other end of the scales, 009 GVT open coach for 1/2 price, just got myself a couple https://hobb-e-mail.com/peco-gr520-gvt-3rd-class-open-side-coach----half-price-5914-p.asp
