  1. Bit of a rarity, Vauxhall nova saloon at a local garage also I suspect this one is a bit of a sleeper looking at the Santa pod sticker in the window and the short shift gear change!
  2. Got the cooper back yesterday from having a new clutch slave cylinder fitted but it’s got to go back in a bit to be Bled as I can’t get it in gear with the engine running, luckily I can get it in 2nd to get it to him only discovered that issue while I was on the way to APB motorsport to get the tracking and geometry sorted, after spending decent money on tyres a couple of weeks back I want them to last! Sat here as the mechanic drove it onto the ramp I notice the exhaust is rattling now too, hopefully it’s just catching on the heat shield as there is not too much play under there, doesn’t sound like a loose baffle, annoyingly the red car has started doing the same too!
  3. I’ve had a few 2nd hand items off them, locos, coaches, buildings etc 2nd hand locos are always competitively priced, the last one I had was the rails ltd Ed freightliner 66 ‘poppy’ which cost me £85 from them!
  4. As soon as I saw the pictures I recognised it as the crossing to the kennels, couple of crossings along from Buttington hall where a tractor got hit back in 2013 too
  5. I contemplated calling in to topp Trains in my way to work but was pushing it for time, glad I didn’t make the short diversion now! will get there later in the month though
  6. I think he’s going to be buying my step dads Isuzu rodeo pick up truck off him when the time comes, he’s already got the money together for his first vehicle, I keep telling him though a lot of what he has saved will go on insurance!
  7. he’s got style, he wants a 1968 Dodge Charger as his first car!
  8. Father’s Day card from my 16yr old...... full of love and sincerity
  9. Some from yesterday, possession at Northampton 66756 on the rear of my train 66781 on the front a photo from a former work colleague at colas who lives nearby of my train being worked on l, they were loading rail by this time 8 hours later finally made it to the marker boards after being unloaded of ballast and reloaded with scrap rails Mountsorrel later
  10. 66756 is currently sat in Northampton on the front of 6G52 which should be heading back to bescot later this morning but the possession is running late
  11. 12 weeks before your route competency runs out, that’s not long at all
  12. not at all, aimed at the posts above yours pure speculation and rumour presented as evidence
  13. Notice the Eurostar has gone but a further look reveals TTS sound fitted ‘maude’ for £135 seems to be sold out everywhere else or at a premium on eBay https://clarkrailworks.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/Hornby-oo-r3600tts-nbr-j36-class-673-maude-dcc-sound
  14. Good contender for the “it never happened of the year award” some of the speculation above! (Happy to end proved wrong though)
  15. Lots of new stuff in at clarksrailworks this jumped out at me, not my scale etc but I believe still sought after, certainly going for 1/2 again on eBay n gauge Kato eurostar £95 https://clarkrailworks.com/collections/all-stock/products/kato-10-327-eurostar-8-car-set dcc fitted blue Pullman £385 https://clarkrailworks.com/collections/all-stock/products/Bachmann-oo-31-255dc-midland-pullman-six-car-unit-nanking-blue-dcc-fitted
  16. really? not common knowledge to me, where’s that info from?
  17. That’s a hell of a cutting! and yes she does grunt well
  18. Honestly if you have ever see the basement in the shop you will understand where these things are coming from! back in about 2007 I got a rake of ‘new’ stock replica railways MK1 intercity charter coaches from there, all at about £10’a pop! Ive got to work a train to Hereford on Thursday morning but unfortunately I get there far too early to justify hanging about until it opens and having a proper look round again
  19. Risky move going to Whitacre, I normally phone the box and see if there is a margin to go via the fast lines so had there not been a 170 behind me you would have missed me! some from today tamworth and my train, 2 ex EWS hoppers going for scrap in longport, the bogies are the only bits being kept to use as accommodation bogies for the class 56/69 running round in alsager and back to derby after depositing the wagons
  20. Most new breed hot hatches are now small Turbo’d engines, I suppose to keep insurance and tax costs down, certainly bog standard ST fiestas and the like give my coooer S a run for its money to a point, but then mine will keep pulling when they have run out of go! (That’s of course when it’s not broken) I had a new 20 plate cooper S as a hire car a few months back and that was a 3 cylinder turbo went like a rocket!
  21. Speaking of fabric roofs (rooves?) With the rain we have had the last couple of days The mini convertible has steamed up something chronic, at first I thought it was the new seats being a bit wet after a clean causing damp/condensation however earlier I noticed the inside of the roof was covered in big water droplets all over the the rear Exposed cloth part and upon touching the outside the fabric (mohair) is absolutely saturated with water, so much so you can run your finger along it and the water rises up from the grain of the cloth ,had the car almost 2 years now and it’s the first time I’ve had it happen, it’s not leaking as such but so waterlogged it must be soaking through somehow i had the hood cleaned and treated late last year/early this year with a supposed sealant solution added!
  22. Trident trains opened its doors again on Wednesday social distancing rules in place namely only 3 in the shop at once, hand sanitizer on the wall by the door, must sanitize before entry, 2 meters apart, don’t touch the stock unless buying there is a screen at the counter to keep Richard from the customers too!
